I played with alchemik some (he's from my town btw. rotfl) and i know that he's kinda loose preflop. I think that i would fold that on turn.
Not only 86 beats you but QJ too and any set.

u dont want hands like these to play with u = u should bet preflop enough to make them fold.

and if someone calls 30BB flop bet, then he is probably either slowplaying a monster or going for the draw (or he is crazy calling station...) so when the scare cards comes, i would either check (well too bad for he can scare u, depends whether he is aggresive or not) or bet not too much and if raised strongly, i would fold that (unless of course he is a bluffing maniac)

and btw anon, i saw u are winning almost all the time at PP micro, so i wouldnt bother too much losing a hand like this ocassionally.

there is a light at the end of the tunnel... (but sometimes the tunnel is long and deep as hell)

Rasie AK from any position, just not so aggressively from early pos. 3 to 4 times the BB is the norm.

youre doing fine, youve improved a lot since you first started posting, hang in there buddy.

i prefer raising preflop because these players are bad and you want to get money in with the best hand. but limping is fine. that being said, when you do limp, you have to be very wary of bigger hands. you've allowed 6 people to be in this pot by not raising it. the chances of your hand now being best are very low. if you dont raise preflop you have to be very willing to let go of your TPTK cause hands like K9 now have a hammerlock on you. if you had raised preflop, then you can take it to war, TPTK is almost as good as a set in a shorthanded pot.

I would just push this hand after the smallstack went allin.

If you did that, alchemik would draw with incorrect odds and he would 'have' to fold. If he calls, you naturally gain over the long run because you made the correct play and he made a mistake.

Just play your big cards aggressively Anon, you'll make more money than you lose in the long-run.

Yeah it seems to me like you're afraid to lose a buyin when you're playing, thus you're playing it safe and you don't bet enough.

Just play fearless, that's a lot better in the long run. Of course your beats will get bigger then, but your winnings more often get bigger too.

#1 Rule of poker: Don't go broke in an unraised pot. you only have ten cents commited and everyone is going all in... you have nothing to protect here, its almost garunteed you will lose this pot with just 1 pair.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

#2 Rule of poker: if you think about 'what you have invested' and not the pot size and situation you fucking suck
