I believe they focus on his eyes at the very end of the movie, and he's kind of staring off into space while talking, the way a blind person would likely look when speaking to you. Plus the entire "god guides my path" thing, like literally guiding him as a puppet. If you watch it a second time through, you'll notice countless spots where they emphasize his other senses to make up for blindness. They were really quite subtle with it and you would never notice until having seen it twice.

I give the movie a 3/5. It was entertaining and filmed well. Denzel played a decent road warrior character. Definitely dont try to make too much sense of it though, just enjoy watching him kick ass and then the big revelation that he's blind, thats all the movie is for.

yeah no joke if you're worried about how blind samurai is able to do the shit he did you're overthinking the movie wayyyy too much

I gave it a 3/5 too, i distinctly remember that. i didnt like all the bible shit, dont like when religion is glorified like that
ending was indeed horrible, but all in all not such a bad movie

For me it was ok, some good scenes and as KeanuReaver says, you can't overthink that much with that movies, it's just a movie and even with that, when it starts with the god guiding blind guy in a kind of devastated future world you know it's not gonna make sense in everything lol.

I find him being blind and doing all that stuff more plausible than a magical dude in the sky. The ending with the book I thought was ok because it just gets lumped with all the other bullshit religions on a shelf (no doubt in the Fantasy section).

From memory I think he is going progressively more and more blind throughout the movie. There was something in the web comics about it ie/ not born blind etc.

Oh and as a big Fallout 3/New Vegas fan I also liked the movie and would give it 3/5. But I am a sucker for post-apocalypse movies.

Are you guys fucking serious? Did you even watch the movie? There were about a MILLION spots where it showed he was blind. The first 10 minutes of the movie alone there was several spots.

1.) He is walking down the street and stops abruptly, looks to his left, and senses the car (who does that?). The first thing he does he check the dead body's feet in the car for shoes with his hands (if you had sight, you would look and leave).

2.) He enters that abandoned house and opens the closet but doesn't freak the fuck out when a dead body slumps down, instead he covers his nose because the stench is so bad (couldn't see the body). Again, he checks the feet of the body for shoes with his hands, feeling around.

3.) When he listens to music on his iPod, the clicker sound is maxed out so he can hear which songs he is shuffling through by the number of clicks. If you got an iPod with no charger, you would turn this off as it takes battery life to have this clicker on.

4.) When he feeds the mouse, he doesn't even see it. The movie shows that he HEARS the mouse first and feeds him some food.

I could literally go through like 20 more spots like this and I saw the movie only ONCE, a year ago.

I personally really liked the movie.

For the person making fun of the girl doing stuff without training and going "denzel style" you obviously didn't get the movie. Denzel wasnt some super trained bad-A, he was simply a man being protected by God, so to think that she is helpless just because she has no training, given what you've seen in the movie is simply laughable. ur ok with a blind dude being rambo, but a chick with no training is no good? lol

And also, you say "why does god make him kill everyone in his way instead of just getting the bible to magically appear at the publication place"
If we are taking this movie for what it is, God is real regardless of your belief type of movie, this question is obvious. Christianity is built on faith alone, look at the religion as a whole, it has come to be because of PEOPLE doing the will of God. The Bible is written by man, but Christianity is built on the fact that its the divine living word of God. God did not magically make the 10 commandments appear, he did not make the original Bible just appear, why would this need to magically appear.

I feel like anyone who didn't like this movie decided to look at it from the perspective of "I don't believe in God" which isn't fair to the movie. The movie is almost completely based on the assumption that God is real. If God isn't then yes, wtf this is dumb. But with God being real the story becomes and amazing act of faith and a demonstration of the power of God.

I guess being a Christian makes it slightly easier for me to see things this way and also helped me enjoy this movie alot, but I'm apparently in the minority in liking it.

You're kind of stupid so I'll be brief. Denzel is old in this movie relative to the population (they even talk about it) he has built up a life time of skills in survival, fighting, etc. The key here being A LIFETIME. The woman goes from being a retarded wimp to being a badass in what seems to be about a week. Denzel isn't protected by god and he doesn't have some magic powers to dodge bullets. If you didn't notice he actually loses to the bad guys ie/ he loses the book AND dies.

The movie never even tries to answer the question of if god is real. It simply shows what a motivator faith can be. In this case it just happens to be Christianity hence the end scene where McDowell puts the bible with the books of all the other religions of the world. You being blinded by your bullshit religion instantly forget this part I am sure because of course your religion is the one and only.

I could go on about your views on those who "didn't like this movie" but I am sure everyone thinks your an idiot already. I'll simply say that there is no assumption and you miss the point totally, there is no "demonstration of the power of god", sorry churchy.
