Well since im far to lazy to build a computer and i figured there'd be good deals right about now i thought id look for a new computer since mine is getting a little old.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229209

was curious as to what people think of this computer? probably wanting to play some games ( not competitive games where i'll need 100fps or w/e ) just some of the newish single player games to play about when high/bored and dont feel like pokering. will this type of machine run them decently smooth?

gracias!

Sounds like a pretty decent setup, not top of the line neither the worst thing you can get,

My guess is that your gona be able to play the most of the games around to day fine with it (maybe not on the higest resolutions)

Tho im a bit jeallous on the prices, ill get like the cpu and RAM here for the same price for the whole setup o.O

-3,1 Ghz dual core = fine enough
-4GB DDR-3 = standard and fine
-ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB PCI Express Graphics = absolute no go for a computer that wants to run modern games ...

Here are some frame examples of a 5450radeon card supported by an ultra fast Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition 3,87 GHz,
1280x1024 high detail / AA off

Call of Duty: World at War = 11fps unplayabe
Crysis = 4fps unplayable
Stalker = 5 fps unplayable
Battleforge = 6fps unplayable

5450 is an office computer graphic card and totally not designed to play any games past 2004 .... pretty ridiculous they plant it in a computer that has the name "gaming computer" .
compare this stats with a 5670radeon and same Intel cpu

Call of Duty: World at War = 43fps
Crysis = 17fps -> playable with > 25fps when details below high
Stalker = 29,6 fps
Battleforge = 25fps

5670ATi is so much better and faster than the 5450

I did build a cheap:

Athlon II X2 255(3.1GHz)
4GB DDR3
750GB HDD
ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB
450W Be quiet supply
Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower
DVD-RW
Asus mainboard

System for just 430€ (570$)
just some days ago (since my better computer got destroyed by ex gf ...).

so maybe add this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121362

and u get a decent and cheap comp for 488 $

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)

You'll definitely need to replace the video card, I'd suggest a GTS 250 if you're looking to stay cheap.

My suggestion would be to build your own computer though.

man what happened to PC cases they all look so fucking gay these days like they were designed by a 12 year old Battle Star Galactica nerd.

I don't find this a good deal at all.The price is not that low and the quality is not that good.As mentioned above you should start with changing the video card, search for a motherboard that has the newst PCI slots and buy card for it.Don't look only for the memory but also about if it's 128/256bits DDR2/DDR3, these are things that matter along with the built in memory.Then the RAM - these days it's so cheap I would go again for a MB that supports a lot of RAM and has at least 3 slots for them and get as much as i could afford.Also I would alsways go for the Intel one, but I guess you have some money limit so maybe this could be a sacrificed.And at the end - the power supply, If you go for more powerful video card and stuff you definetly want branded power supply, at least 450W.

build your own or buy parts and pay a nerd friend to do it for you (that's what I did)

I click buttons.

Ya you def wanna wait on that(cyber monday this monday).. You can pick up a computer similar to that at you average staples/office depot/ best buy for almost 299.99 (with onboard graphics and a lower wattage psu) but still.. Hit me up on AIM at rollergoku and I can help you hunt down a pretty good deal

I'm looking to sell some of my computers. This one:

Quad core, 8 threads
6GB DDR3 Ram
Radeon HD 4350 512MB

Asus P6T WS Pro X58 LGA1366
Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB
Crucial Ballistix 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3
MSI R4350-MD512H Radeon HD 4350 512MB 64-bit GDDR2
WD1600AA (160GB Hard drive)
400W Corsair PSU CMPSU-400CX

ATX
2 PCI-X 2.0 x16 slots
1 PCI-X
1 PCI
24 GB max DDR3 ram
8 USB 2.0
2 USB 3.0
8 channel audio
2 Gigabit Lan
1 PS/2
2 1394a
SPDIF Out
1 HDMI
1 DVI
1 VGA

has more ram, way better motherboard, and way better processor than your example. Small hard drive and it's been briefly used, but I'll sell the computer for $400. You would still want to get a better video card for gaming though since it runs COD2 at 1920x1200 at less than 30fps.
