Video that simulates what some people suffering from unmedicated schizophrenia experience. Pretty freaky and estimates say between .55-1% of the world population have schizophrenia in some form
Also worth noting it is listed as the third most debilitating condition after quadriplegia and dementia.

Truly sad how the media also depicts schizophrenics as always being extremely confused and violent mass murderers looking to harm society. Not only do you have to deal with delusions/hallucinations on a day to day basis, struggle with taking medication(if they even do) and their side effects, but you also have to often deal with social rejection and possibly even alienation from your family.
With the exception of being completely paralyzed, I do not know a more debilitating disorder. At least with dementia, people tend to want to feel empathetic towards you...

this is exactly like what my schizophrenic cousin described to me... i had no idea what it was like and asked him when i was younger, he said he always had the impression people could read his mind. |
