idk cooler in many ways, it just depends I guess, sometimes it is better to just have them hang themselves by calling down. I am no tournament specialist and it depends on how the payout structure works but sometimes waiting for top5-6 before trying to really build is better since there is a good amount of shorties who should die soon.

either way you can't fold and you can't feel like were wronged because with 10k people i am sure you put a lot of bad beats on people who ran like god somewhere

but yeah top 6-5 is where the money usually starts being worth it, anything else is just meh

i wish there was a video of your face when you saw that he had AA lol

especially if you need the money as opposed to not and have a cushion to push for top 3

i dont play tournaments at all but cant we get away from this at some point on the turn?

I think its sickening because I could have basically folded my way to 5k quite easily. But I really cannot see how I can get away from this hand.

So here is my thought process for the hand - Main Villain opens with a pretty standard small raise from EP. This is one of the players I really do not have much information on as I have not played with him yet. I decide to call with my 77 as we are 100bb deep and I am calling to set mine and nothing else. bb calls with probably a very wide range. Flop comes J A J. Ok, I am basically going to fold to any cbet here. It goes check check to me. I decide to just check and i am folding on the turn. Basically I am done with this hand, as I do not want to start trying to make any moves at this early stage of a FT. So turn boats up for me. Its really annoying in a way as I had basically decided i was folding turn, but now I most certainly cannot. Now the BB decides to lead out. I give the BB no credit what soever for a hand here, he can be leading with air alot, the larger stack flats aswell. So I think both players are weak, and want to increase the pot. Perhaps one of them has Jx or Ax, and I can hopefully make a big pot here. So I raise, and BB obv folds, and I get re raised from the guy that flats. This is where it all goes tits up. At this point my mind just flips and I shove it all in thinking ez money. I do not think I give this hand alot of thought here. AJ owns me, J7 owns me, all Jx hands could boat up on river and own me. Basically my hand is good but its not amazing. But I think well hes prob got KJ or something and I am going for the win and shove. How sick to see AA. I felt so so sick.

How can I get away from this? Even If I do decide to just flat his re raise, he is most certainly going to bet strong on river and I am going to have to call alot of my chips anyway. What If i lead out and bet/fold the flop. This is leaky imo, as it makes no sense for me to bet this flop 3 way. Even If I did, i am 99% sure any J is going to flat and raise me on turn. So basically no matter what I do in this hand, im screwed. I cannot get away from it. It totally fucking sucks lol. I cannot fold 77 pre flop either. Thats just horrible and nitty lol.

This totally fucked my head up. I was so dissapointed withmyself, busting out in 9th after basically joint chip lead at FT. Dam right MTTs are one sick fuckers.

dude that really fucking sucks lol. Yeah mtts can be life-ruining sometimes man. You just gotta find solace in the long run, which I hear is a long ways away. But I think you're right, you can't really fold here. Obv the results sucked ass but even if you played it super safe and c/c all the way to the end you're still losing a good chunk of chips, but I gotta believe that in the same situation you win more often than not.
