Back to reality - my job started again.

Was really tired at work today, so I pumped up on caffeine at the end.
So I come home all mentally tired but speeded up at the same time, like a monkey on ecstasy.
Should have seen it coming, on the positive side I quit after 300 hands and not after 4k as usual when I hypertilt ;D

It was soo easy and so much fun over the holidays to just grind it up with a huge winrate when poker was all I was doing (While I had a breakeven month I made $2k in 10 days during the Christmas holidays while still running -ev lol).
I envy you poker pros so much for gods sake!

The usual boring stuff:
+ Show Spoiler +

Well, thank god I play with 100 BIs.

FIX: Rewatch Poker Enlightenment. I will not play until I have seen all 8 hours again. Think I have to watch it every month and I already ordered the book, as I am lazy to remember to do the couple things Tommy asked me to do in it.

Yeah thats the thing, getting it back is never hard for me, which makes me even more reckless.

Anyway I didn't want to quit, I wanted to open more tables, I even changed my setup to Multitabling stacked tables and started opening more tables. The urge was really strong.

I am really proud of closing the tables, standing up and get my Mindfulness going, and this blog is close to brag if you saw how I tilted in the past.

This will have no impact on anything apart from me listening to Tommy Angelo again, no need to forget about it

Maybe you should stop sucking Tommys dick and really think about what triggers this.

I a set goal to play at least the first 15 mins of a session really solid and not to get invovled too much untill i have got myself "warmed up" and really thinking logically about what is going on, and more importantly have a decent read on opponents.

Sometimes you come home from work and think, right time to own some noobs, and just go to bluff city with absolutely stupid bluffs/calls etc. You been working away, dieing to get home to kick some ass and you end up just make stupid plays because you want to be owning right away, because you think you are invincible. I have done it so often in the past. Reality is, you just have not had any great cards yet and become frustrated because you want to get playing.

Maybe I am wrong.

I am a degen. Do not believe in any of my advice.Last edit: 06/01/2010 15:28

I am pretty sure I don't think at all

Can't explain my state of mind, maybe Neilly or Salbot will understand, its a feeling of total mental emptiness where all rationality is gone and I make every decision oi 0.01 seconds without actually making them in my concious mind, like a drug addict.
It always was like this with computer games, eating, alcohol, sport, some series like heroes, my laziness etc. i.e. I have addictive type of personality.
The dull realisation that what I am doing is terribly wrong (e.g. playing Dota all night and skipping work the next day) and the feeling that my self control is so weak to do anything about it just came so often in my life.

You might say that I am not the right person to play poker in the first place and you will be probably right, but as long as there is hope that I can control my personality through continuous work on self awareness and control I will keep trying

P.S. And the obvious solution is simply to come home, take a shower, clean the flat or watch some TV, sit down with a clear goal in my mind on how long the session will be and what are my goals.
Or simply not play at all, I obviously knew deep down that in the state I was in I wouldn't be able to play anything close to my A game.

not sure how you can continue to preach to everyone who makes tilt blogs when you do something like this every other week.

Have had great success with JJ after I took Tri's / Cole's tip. Play JJ as if you're holding 99, and Think what you'd do with that instead. Something bout, everytime you get it in with JJ it's a flip at best.

Hey Lemon, I've written articles on the first two vods, when I get all 8 done, I can make a compilation and send them to you and you can do a quick review without having to spend 8 hours.

Just pm me if you want, np <3
