Id love doing something like this for dinner most nights but it just takes so damn long to make :/

Well the burger recipe makes 9 burgers, i mean i only used 2 here (and 1 to test) and it'll store for another 3 nights easily.
The tomatoe sauce recipe made a small tub-full that'll last at least 2-3 days imo.
Salad took 5 mins.

Idk, total time preparing is about an hour for 3 nights dinner, not too bad.
Obv gotta have the ingredients first though.

Well, i can see why its a little hard to get into. I'd say start off very simple with daily GREEN smoothies, that means 80% greens and the rest just a little fruit to sweeten it up a bit. You want about a litre in size imo. It lasts you about 6-7 hours if you drink it in one sitting. You will feel amazing doing this also. Eating nice salads regularly with a very simple dressing.

I'd say, dont try to eliminate cooked food right away unless you're willing to go straight for a dehydrator and risk not getting into it. The dehydrator basically removes liquid from the food using a fan and a very low heat source. This keeps the food raw but takes away the liquid, allowing you to simulated cooked foods addictive texture while still keeping all the nutrients intact.

Another thing you should think about when trying to eventually come off cooked foods (after a month or so of smoothies with cooked food) is to realise that cooking food depletes it of its nutrient value.

Loco and I like researching a lot of the choices and trying to eat as well as possible. I think thats very important and satisfying after you've learned what you're eating is good and WHY. Thats really the main reason i decided to go vegan initially, b/c i didnt want to eat meat or dairy as it was in all shitty foods and i wanted to force myself to read labels/question ingredients.

Well, the raw diet is somewhat simpler. You can just eat green vegetables and some fruit if you like and take a b12 supplement + flax seed oil for omega3. It means you dont need to read labels and figure out what a bunch of complex chemicals are because nothing is processed, its all whole foods.
There is no sacrifice eating raw food either. If you are like me and desire to cooked food texture but dont want to comprimise on the nutrients, a dehydrator is definitely for you. I only got mine about a week ago and i love it.

Hope that helps,

David

I admire what you are doing but I just couldn't do it. I am not a fat unhealthy guy but give me a steak - only similarity to 'raw' is I like is bloody as hell....

For me much of the best tastes come from animal fat. That's not to say that I eat saturated fat all the time - it's just that I couldn't give it up as life's too short for my liking. If I knock a few years off because I eat animal fat then so be it.

Don't get me wrong - I am not trying to take away anything from what you are doing or denigrate it in any way. I just think for me it would be like the toughest prop bet ever to follow it even for a few months.

That sounds/looks delicious and I'd love to eat it but making it and getting all the ingredients seems like a ton of work.

What will take some years off your life is eating commercial meat from unhealthy animals, cooked.
