it's not as easy as it seems. i really could care less about grinding down some $100-$200 stack fish for an hour and pay half of it in rake. esp. if i've been losing at higher stakes, i want to make the money back as fast as possible and playing lower stakes tilts me.

would you stop with the all in ev, it is meaningless horse shit. you can be getting KK vs AA 15 times in a row and not be running below ev and you can be betting all the way with top set against some donk with a gutter that gets there on the river and not be counted as running bad, and tons of more examples... just stop it. gj loco

yeah EV is pretty meaningless and doesn't take into account a lot of cooler situations or just bad situations as a whole. example: playing some guy HU deep for a couple hours only to have the software freeze on you while you have AA on AA5 and the guy just shoved all in with 55 for a 600bb pot and it folded your hand. I think you will agree with me that this is running bad and there's no reason for me to think that I ran better than I "should have" just because I'm running over EV when stuff like this happens. EV will only show you that you have gotten lucky or unlucky in the short term and only in certain situations, it's far from being a complete indicator of luck or bad luck. there are many more factors to consider.

another example is if some random degenerate joins my table and starts shoving every single hand preflop and does it 13 times in a row and i catch AK the 14th time and he has AA this time and holds up, the EV will be pretty meaningless because you've made the right decision of calling considering his range and that's just bad luck that you won't see in the EV numbers.

that's without mentioning that this is my first month of the year of running over EV.
