Are they traffic tickets, or something else? Minor in possession something like that?
Most often, fighting a ticket costs more than paying it, and most often you lose anyway. If they are 'non-criminal' then your word against a police officer's word means you lose. As a civil matter, the burden of proof is lower. I'll give you a for instance. I was given a citation while parked in my assigned spot (not a parking ticket, it's a long story), the ticket was in error, and I talked to the officer about it and he agreed, but . . . I had to go to a hearing to dispute it, lost 1/2 a day's pay, only to find that if I wanted to dispute the ticket I would have to come to another hearing, or I could 'mitigate' it there and then (likely get the fine reduced but not eliminated) without arguing guilt. With the half day's pay loss and even with the reduction, it cost me slightly more to 'fight it'.
Pay the fines and move on. |

Most often fighting a ticket for a minor traffic violation is worth it actually assuming you don't get an attorney. Just show up to your court date and more often then not they will atleast reduce the points. |

this assumes you don't have a job, or at least one that doesn't pay well. If you are an hourly worker in the $20+ range you will lose enough pay to make it not worth the hassle. |
