definitely, but i would've been smarter about it (allocated more time into it, more efficiently, etc.), and not have taken pre-leg days for granted (WTF was i doing playing fixed limit back then) |

I was a high school senior dreaming of riches when I was watching some guy 4table 2/4NL.
"Wow I thought, that guy has $1600 on the table and makes it look SO EFFORTLESS!". He was making some observations and getting money shipped his way. I could do that, since I've already got decent proficiency and stamina for playing starcraft. One day this will be so caaaaaaashhhhh!!!"
nearly 3 years later, I'm still learning the game at the microstakes. as a kid (i'm still a kid, we all are) I had no idea what it took to get decently good at aNYTHING. In getting to a satisfactory level of proficiency in anything requires soooo much work to break out of that "U" curve before you show any gains at all. I'm at the level where im close to clicking so its hard to say at this point. When someone gets 2/4NL reg status to pay rent though it really will beat the shit out of working waged jobs.
the opportunity costs of ages 18-21 down the drain in poker, instead of gaming girls I gamed poker...its hard to say. It definitely forces the person to really mature and PUT IN THE FLIPPIN WORK or get jacksquat. more than anything i'm determined to reach my goals in poker, so that I may move mountains later in life when facing adversity. So...grudgingly...still yes. when I prove to myself that my dreams can be accomplished, i'm outtie guys |

I haven't played a huge number of hands with you vegable, but you have the best looking stats of anyone I've seen at NL50. You're definitely doing it right.
I took a stab at poker back in 2003-2004, lost my free money at partypoker, and just figured I sucked. My friends kept playing but none of them ever made huge amounts of money that I know of so I didn't have much incentive to try again (with proper bankroll management, etc.). I wish I would have though - I could have paid my way through law school playing poker instead of taking out like 130k in student loans. |

I would have focused alot more on becoming really really good at games in general. learning how to outplay. focusing on being THE BEST.
I think I would hire mondi to coach me at starcraft. that in turn would help my poker game, along with reading a ton of books. oh yeah, and if I could go back I would make friends with someone who i could do hand analysis with, like moloch or daut or someone
at least, that's in my ideal world |
