I played EVE very briefly (2 weeks), but from what I understood you could buy characters by buying time cards, which in turn you could sell for in game money, which in turn you could use to buy characters OR you could just buy in game money and buy characters that way.
P.S. Eve blows, and so do all MMORPG for that matter. THe PVP in that game is hyped up everywhere on the internets which is the only reason I gave that game a shot. Concerning the PVPness of the game: you spend most of your time doing a mixture of gatecamping, running away from the enemies, chasing the enemies, looking for the enemies, docking in NPC hubs and then getting camped by the enemies, and a lot of other stuff that involves not fighting. I think the actual fighting only makes up 5% of the pvp. It's because everyone is scared to lose their shit when they get blown up so they play REALLY cautiously. |
