WARNING: big ass boring post.
Well, basically, I've been stuck for a while at NL5 after being easily rolled for NL10 at one stage, the biggest part of this was me playing too many tournaments and sng's with only like 20 bi's, trying to 15 table $3.4 turbo's etc... But lately i've been struggling to beat NL5 due to ridiculous coolers and general spewing after them, but im posting a whole bunch of hands here that i would like to see opinions on (not the obvious coolers), Me not beating NL5 has a lot to do with leaks in my game, regardless of how bad I'm currently running, and I'd like anyone who has the time to have a look at these and let me know any changes i could make, I'll also post my reasoning during the hand, and anything i picked up after reviewing the hand myself.
HAND 1:
Ideas while playing: Pre-flop is pretty standard i think. My flop bet is probably a tiny bit small in comparison, i could've probably jacked it up to 90c-$1 range as i try to keep my bets on the flop around 2/3-3/4 range, his call-check line is usually showing a draw or a monster at these stakes i think, so i bet out again at the turn and get flatted, leading me to think he's probably on a draw, when the river comes a blank, i figure i probably have the best hand and put his last $1.05c into the pot.
After reviewing: I think this is standardish... I think i didnt take into account enough the idea of him having AsXs so him hitting the ace was probably higher then i gave him credit for, even tho he did check it to me.

HAND 2:
Ideas while playing: Basically, this whole hand i am pretty confused about whether i played it right on ANY street. PF, the call was probably sloppy, we were both deep so i used that to justify the call at the time figuring i'd get it in if i hit a set and gtfo if i didn't. When the flop came down, as soon as i saw it i thought i had hit the jackpot, but after betting i realized i'm not actually ahead of some of the hands that are likely holdings of his (aa/kk obv.) and he's probably letting everything else go but AK. So on the turn and river i bet out with the intention of getting his stack in and thinking it was just a cooler if he had aces or kings on me.
Nothing in my thinking has really changed after the hand, But i am interested in comments on it whether its an obvious fold pf or not.

HAND 4:
Thoughts: In the hand my thought process was pretty 1 dimensional, not thinking enough about players acting behind me and players having me drawing virtually dead. PF was standard i think, on the flop when he leads out for 50c, i instinctively calling thinking i've easily got odds to draw to my 2nd nut flush. When the player behind me moves in and gets called, my thought process was any heart or either of the 2 queens probably saves me in this pot, and i probably have the odds to call here. Was my line of thinking absolutely stupid for any reason here, or was my maths a bit off and i didn't have odds?

H1: Riverbet is marginal, but I sorta like it. Thin valuebets are teh shit and these guys prolly call with any pair anyways.
H2: Pretty standard, not sure how it affects, but I might bet more on turn.
H3: Bet little more on flop, turn line is sort of "w/e", I might go for c/r, but this is fine too. Problem obviously is that only draw out there hit, but you're not getting away from this so..
H4: Hmmn, I prefer flop raise to a flat, I don't particularly like the flat behind either. NL5 people play ridiculous shit but the problem with QQ and two guys AI is that you're drawing virtually dead if someone has Kh (because other one's likely to have Ax). It might not be super horrible, but I'd give it a good thought before overcalling the ai. You're getting 3-to-1 or so here. |

hand 1: check behind for pot control imo. on turn i mean. most of the time he doesnt have an A here but u dont want to be stacking off without at least a clear overpair imo. and if you do bet turn, dont bet river.
hand2: i wouldnt ever call such a huge 3bet with any pair below TT that u are playing for set value
hand3: pretty good
hand4: marginal spot... just fold and find an easier one. this is like neutral EV at best |

HAND 1: check behind river as you're getting 0 value from missed draws and a lot of weaker hands, unless the villain is a HUGE station.
HAND 2: fold pre like you said. you have no odds and will lose money in the long term.
HAND 3: you're getting something like 3.5 to 1 so folding turn to his raise is out of the question. i don't like checking either since the guy is short and short stacks are terrible so i'd like to get the money in asap. i think you see ace-rags, fd, KQ, etc here a lot so going broke here is pretty much your destiny vs. a short stack imo =(
HAND 4: yeah vs. two people giving you aggression flop is a snap fold probably even if you have the nut flush draw, you're a HUGE dog against a made flush, a set, or even a pair of aces as NO ONE is bluffing here. i wanna point out that sometimes i like to raise the mini donkbet though and fold to a shove
also, why don't you buy in for 250BB? |

just fold hand 4
i dont care what odds you're getting to call the ai, ur never good here and could easily be drawing dead.
instinctively I would raise that donkbet/fold to shove but i think thats spewy too.
Theres like no fold equity with these players so if they just flat it, the turn would be really hard to play. Also any card that helps you (another heart or a Q) would either kill the action and prevent more value or they would have hit a stronger hand and you would lose more money. |
