if money isnt everything for you, consider helping someone with something youre good at
can be poker related like helping out a lowskilled friend in poker or w/e
can also be at something else, if you're multi talented.
dunno how you're as a person but to me it always satisfies me a lot if i see i'm able to help someone improve in anything |

Go with your guts and do whatever you want to. So you dont end up bitter and rich with a sense of wasted time. Money are only as valueable as what you can buy with them. You wont enjoy money if you arent materialistic person. |

I guess you are at the point (or close to it) that you can live off your money for quite some time, so it destructs the primary purpose of having a job (to survive). Most people are getting tired and sort of burnt out after a while if they dont have some sort of pressure or rythm like everyday job/chores/school. Being poker player is like that. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want. But it can be very destructive if you dont know how to manage wisely that freedom. Maybe set some goals for yourself so you wont hover aimlessly. Dunno what else to add.
What do you mean in the middle ? Between what and what ? |

tbh i dont have "alot" of money that i can just live off for a while.. especialyl cos everything is in £ over here..ive had some huge downsings but thats irrelevant to my thoughts right now.
one hand i want to make alot of money in my life
on the other hand i want to make difference in the world
but poker doesnt offer both.. so im thinking playing part time is best for me in the future

I like this song, first heard it in closer =)
I know what you mean about feeling like it's pointless. I already balance it out with time spent with family and friends + working with a nonprofit organization. Doing those things helps me feel like I'm involved in the world and contributing. You can also donate some of the money you own to charities and some of your free time to helping out charities. Volunteer in different places and so on. Especially if you get a degree, there's lot's of nonprofits that can't afford to hire really skilled people, so if you can donate your time to give them a special skill it is very much appreciated by them. If you have enough money from poker to take time and do that for free, then I'm sure you'll feel very good about yourself.
That's my plan anyway =) |

It does indeed sound like the best idea would be taking poker as a minor hobby (ie. not spending 8h/day on forums/tables/CRmovies/etc ) and fully dive into the "making the difference" part (but i have no idea what that would be for you). From what ive read handling poker emotionally will be much easier if you will have the rest of your life balanced and sorted out (i guess im the the exception to this rule, but thats irrelevant). |
