Nothing special in my Poker career
Its goes up and down and up and down and up and down etc.
Today was an okay day.
After i lost about 40 $ yesterday i am up + 35 $ for today
yet some thoughts about my poker career and Poker in generall
1.)
I tried some NL 10 and i realized cashgame is not the right thing for me.
I simply tilt so much when i see my dollars go away by a bad beat
I am thinking about the money all the time and check cashier like every 2 seconds as soon as i lose a 10 $ all in ...
I have no problem with buyin in SNG for 50 $ and knowing the money could be gone ...
but i go on mad tilt as soon as i lose 10 $ in cashgame ...
So i ll stick to SNG forever.
2.) I made a Video playing 6 tables of 6.50 SNG
basically the reason behind this is that i havent made a video in ages and it is quite funny thing to do.
dont think anyone will profit from it much since i am a low stakes noob. Maybe someone watches it and helps me with my leaks.
For sure i am not playing perfect poker and i could improve a ton. However it is also funny to see how luck is my worst enemy.
It includes a nice Heads up match where i completely outplay my noobish villian but loose 2 all-in situations where i am ahead 70-30 or better
and finally lose a coinflip to bust.
i ll give a li<x>nk to the video tomorrow when its uploaded.
3.) Lots of good pla<x>yers are whining that the edge in high stakes Poker that good pla<x>yers have over bad pla<x>yers is getting smaller and variance becomes a much bigger factor.
I was thinking for a while about the situation with SNGS.
I mean there is not too much skill for SNGS that you have to learn it forever.
Of course there is a big skill difference on low stakes such as 6.50$ between some serious pla<x>yer who does it for the money like me and some family father who just wants to have some fun with playing poker tourneys without really knowing what hes doing.
i would also say i have an edge over the average low stakes pla<x>yer in the way i think about hands , board meanings and probabilities combined with my knowledge about different villians playst<x>yles
But at High stakes SNG everybody has prooved himself a winner at SNGS, and everybody knows how to play good.
Isnt it all variance then ?
I think that at 109 $ SNG or higher hardly anyone makes a bad play ever. ( of course sometimes , but most of the regulars are damn solid)
Theres also a high stakes SNG pla<x>yer that i have always admired.
FA_Morgoth the national german poker champion and
former Ger_team Broodwar 2v2 member ( as far as i remember)
I often watched his SNGS at party and he absolutely raped the games. He also made some nice videos that i learned a lot from.
recently he gave Pokerstars a try.
this is the result.
So yeha seems my theorey about high stakes SNG being all variance is not too far fetched.
thoughts ?
now rnd pic to make this post readable
