I played NL200 for a while, but the amount of money just scares me... Its too much to lose, I feel.
I have 13k+ br, and I feel a little silly for still playing NL100. I guess I win about 400$ a day (sometimes much more, but very few days much less) and dont really feel the urge to go up.
Has this happened to anyone? Maybe I wait for 20k br to feel comfortable? I really dont know.

u got no reasons not to be comfortable with such a big roll
but it's your choice and if you are more comfortable playing nl 100 it's your thing and it doesnt concern anybody else
I played nl 100 for a long time as well and i feel a lot more comfortable there than on NL 200 but the more I played it the more I felt stupid not to try to crush nl 200 like I crush nl 100 since I had the roll for it
Theres a big step that seperates good grinders from really good players and it's that good players can break out of their comfort zone to improve themselves and play with no fear unlike grinders who are just happy enough with how much they make grinding a certain limit for a long time
It's all about your ambitions, goals and the lifestyle you choose.. some people are in a hurry to make a lot of money some aren't and want to take it easy. |

Yep i also recently took the step from nl100 to nl200 and so far it went well but as you said the amount of money you handle really start to feel, at least for me winning/dropping $1000 a day is pretty big. Dont play what you dont feel comfortable with but $13k should be enough :D
I wonder if i ever will be able limits higher than like 3/6, i guess it shortens life having swings over what regular young people earns in a year. |

but with the sick amount of hands you put in i wouldnt be worried, since your rakeback kinda always will be more than what you drop |

Dont lol me sir Saki pls.
I think this has a lot to do with the country I live in, Most of you live in Europe or USA where maybe with 100$ you cant get much things. My country is so much cheaper, that the money has a lot more value, so I actually lose much more "in value" that you do. And this makes me value more 200$ that you may.
Also the fact that just here on NL100 I win SO MUCH more than the average person working its just insane.
Having said this, I will try NL200 again soon I guess. Next year NL400, no matter my fucking roll! =p

Hey man, it happended to me too but I'm to scared to look like a pussy so I tried it anyway. Just move down if you lose a few buyins and try again when you've won it back. |

take shots, good for j00 moneyz. I recently took a shot at 1kNL with 20-25 buy ins for it with the intent of moving down if i lost 3 or more buy ins, ended up losing 2k and i'm dropping back down to 400NL for the rest of the month. If you're having a problem with the amount of money and you multitable i suggest making 25% of your tables 200NL and the rest 100NL so you can get used to the betting. Hope that helps. |

I always use 100+ buyins. Not because I have ever been uncomfortable with the money in play, but because I think it's the best way to do it. You never have to worry about moving down, and you can experiment with your game as much as you like without feeling any pressure. You may think its going to take a very long time to move up, but if you really are a big winner, its not much at all compared to the time spent having to move down again/rebuilding etc if you use less buyins.
I taught my "poker students" to use 100 buyins, and alot of them became highrollers within a couple of months, starting from scratch. Those who didn't took shots on higher stakes and failed, and had to use alot of time to rebuild again.
So yeah, I'd just wait for 20k, especially if you are uncomfortable with the money --v

And I thought i was BR nit when moving up to NL200 with 27BI.
Dont think about the amount of money when you play. Try taking controled shot much higher (NL400/600) with less tables so you will become kinda numb when it comes numbers and amounts. Put some presure on yourself.
About the actual value of money its the same with me. In Poland I could live off my NL25 winnings and win more than my mother earns and shes surgeon. Just decide if you want to stay at NL100 forever and be comfortable or maybe play NL1000+ any time soon. Try playing like you were on a freeroll for a week. Doesnt matter how much you win or lose just play good but play higher that you normally do. If you lose it fine nothing happened its just wasted week or two and you know you can win those money back at NL100. But if you succeed and make yourself comfortable at NL200 or NL400 then you have succesfully moved up. |
