Hey guys, been here for about 36 hours so far.
Last night I made my way over to the venetian, seems like the best 1/2 in town.
early on we had a nicedouble up, then get stacked on a J66ss 3d(2flush turn) Qx river he bombs...
he bets every hand.... i have to call turn n river.. 46o. ++ BI for 150, peak 325,finish 86. fml.
day 2,feeling way better today things lookin good, get the thevenetianaround 11am.
grind it out,150 to about 250,then this handhappens.
seat 2 is playing about 35/30 3-4 AF but does check marginalspots to showdown (JJ on Q4567 3way)
I open KK UTG+1,station fish calls (hes in 400 so far) - sb has 400 hes a laggy reg. (for 1/2)
945ccx
36 in pot i bet 27, station fish (-400 player) flats - sb tank jams. i had roughly 60bb behind, hes beenlag as hell...betting 60with overs n shit multiway...
i think a few seconds, jam.
he has 555. other player tp+fd.
miss king.
-150 today.
-75 yesterday.
taxi fees $60
fml.
lol
online poker!!
lol gotta hold those, what u guys think about the KK 3 way (player A wasa fishplayer Bseemed solid reg, he wasby far the most aggro at the table,me being #2 or #3 aggro on the table.
just bet fold? i had 150or so i think start of hand - otb had 100, he had 400, so that changes his allin a lot since its vs 75bb and a 50bb station, but that stations range was really wide.
you fold or call?
Thanks,
Ryan Neilly

60bb either get it in now or fold and reload back to $200+. Don't think it's a terrible stackoff. |

how is 36 in the pot on the flop if you opened at 1/2 and then got 2 callers?
Board is wet but I still think your cbet is too big especially with your stacksize; you don't need to bet that large to get it in and you make it extremely obvious to any reg you have an overpair. I know you are just playing vs fish so whatever get value but i make so much money in live low stakes games just folding better hands than I normally would when people just make their hands too obvious with betsizing - and even fish notice when you cbet pot here. You can say you do it with a wider range or whatever but even if you do you shoudn't cause this is what it looks like. Pot with a shitty flushdraw. Live is weird, for the reason's i stated earlier you might actually be completely fucked everytime he shoves the flop here (unless its a combodraw or MAyBE nfd but he doesn't semibluff his draws here most just call and draw) and maybe you felt that kinda after the hand. Him being aggro and trying to steal pots multiway doesn't mean he is spewy necessarily it might actually point to him being halfway decent for this game and I wouldn't think those reads tell you much when he is shoving flop over the internet kid who opened huge UTG (36 in the flop 3 ways at 1/2 and its not 3bet or killed so i'm assuming you made a large open) and then potted the flop multiway.
All that crap said. KK overpair at live 1/2 with less than 100bb on a 9 high super wet flop. GII can't be bad |

this could be either a call or a fold from what I see (I'm more inclined to fold since its 3way and people tend to bluff less on multiway pots, I would only call if I have a strong read on player, hu it's a call all day I think),
this is why being focused in the game helps you a lot to take this though decisions, at this point its all about intuition imo, live poker involves so many variables that you should be aware of in the moment.
I'll be hitting the Venetian this night.

dnagari thats what i expected, but im 1/3 w/ KK and I need to just believe them now.
I didnt believe an otb lagfish on J66.
didn't believe 555 on 945cc.
when they bet or x/r they just have it.. not like online lol.
restart fresh - when they bet they got it.

Far be it for me to give advice, although I am beating 2/5 for $30/hr @ 211 hours this year (plus I gotta be like fucking -5k EV from the absurd beats). But why the hell are you grinding at 11am? Even if I lived in Vegas I wouldnt waste my time at this hour of the day, the evening is where it's at. Vegas is still a normal city with normal jobs, plenty of people whom come to play poker after their shift is up to donk off money. Seems like 11am would just be a bunch of retiree's or other grinders who have some unusual life commitments preventing them from staying out all night. 7pm-2am has always felt like the money zone to me, before the real degens come out.
Which also begs the question why even waste your time with 1/2. I've never played a 1/2 game where a $15 raise didnt get called by 1-3 players on average, coupled with the fact that often people will be sitting on $500+ you might as well just play 2/5. It's where 1/2 "regs" who have more disposable income play. Which begs the next question, regs? You describe a reg at your 1/2 table, but cmon, who's a reg at 1/2? All a 1/2 reg is is somebody who couldnt move up to 2/5. There's no respect to be given here, if he's been playing 1/2 for the last year or longer he's just a bad player 'nuff said. Fuck em, treat em like a fish.
Anyway the whole fish snap-shove flop move seems to rely on 2 distinct player types: scared player vs gambler. The scared player jams his set or overpair on any remotely scary board to protect his hand. He doesnt want callers, he just wants to put $400 in to make sure he gets that $50 in the pot right now. Better to win a small pot than lose a big one right?...... the gambler just jams it in with any combo draw because hey, how bad off could he be? Max FE (even though they arent thinking along those lines), but a draw means a hand that could make the nuts, and the nuts are always worth a big pot right? So stick it in there with 67 on the 954cc flop because if you hit you're golden!
^I try to avoid stacking off until I see what kind of player they are, but with KK that's a pretty easy allin for me at least. If I lose the buyin whatever, now I have all the information I need on him and will probably just win it back over the course of the night anyway. He'll never change.
Also fuck the funky bet sizing, $27? Pfft just make it an even $30 or whatever. Easier to track pot and I think sometimes fish are put off by such specific and deliberate bet sizing. It looks too planned "why'd be het 27, whats that mean? Why not 28?" and then they start thinking about their hand strength for the first time ever. You throw 6 reds in there and hey, thats just 6 reds, snap call!
****I never give advice since I've never been a winning player but I kinda sorta feel like I am now, at least starting to become one anyway, and since I'm planning on going pro once I hit 20k or so I might just make it. If I crash and burn then may I never speak again. |

Whats your definition of a bankroll? I mean whatever you have for 1/2 might as well be put to better use at 2/5 since it's the same game, unless your roll is like 2k or something. |
