So I moved up to 5NL today. I noticed that people 3bet a lot more, at least in zoom. I'm still stuck in the 2NL mentality of only 3betting AK, TT + because there's no point in 3betting weaker hands as nobody folds. Like I said, people seem to 3bet more, and also seem somewhat capable of making folds when they are 3bet.

What's a general, good 3betting range to use at Zoom 5NL? Also I assume light 4betting has also become viable.

5nl = 2nl

since you just moved up, your sample is still small, as far as what you witnessed at 5nl. everyone still sucks. just keep playing tight

Sample size is still fairly small. Only 2500 hands. But already I can tell people are better then 2NL. Better as in people aren't floating as much random crap, not calling with bottom pair as much, and seem capable of making folds somewhat. Also like I said, I'm facing a lot more 3bets, and not sure how to react to them.

if someones 3betting you alot, play tighter, 4bet more, and call more (IP). If they are 3betting you IP a lot you gotta play super tight.

Theoretically 4betting would work, but in practice at 5NL I'm not sure.

well there is no difference between theory and practice imo. People just have a misunderstanding of theory.

If nobody folds you are missing tons of money by not 3betting wider.

There's a lot of regs these days, in general they fold a lot to 3bets at NL5. As default strategy I'd 3bet value hands like KJs KQ against loose players and have a large bluffing range against TAGgy regulars at Zoom because regs just click that fast fold button alot.

Pretty much applies for all poker everywhere anytime imo not just 5 nl zoom..

poker is soooo much easier when you flop sets
