I normally do not have to worry about it - I leave it turned off and typically use a regular USB mouse in a sort of desktop fashion with my laptop.
Whenever I am on the go, or take laptop to work, etc, and I do not have my mouse, I have to use my mouse pad / track pad.
It is so horrible, I swear I feel homicidal mania swelling inside of me. What motivated the killers in America of all the recent horror? I am pretty sure they were just trying to type a f***ing paragraph and had to type it like 100 times because the track pad would highlight and erase everything, or jump around, etc.
I had not made a blog in awhile and thought this would be good for some flames or for sympathetic souls who also utterly despise the track pad.
My friend has a Mac book pro and it doesn't behave this way at all. Maybe it is just the HP laptop track pads. Turning it off and typing is an easy solution, except its a constant on and off switch like every other second that it makes everything "not worth it."
Just wanted to make random blog bitching about something random cause why not

It's your posture. I see people do this shit all the time, they crook their wrists together to type on laptop so their palms keep grazing the touchpad. I never have this problem, and notice that i keep my hands in a more ergonomic 45 degree type angle from the keys, so that the touchpad is actually between my palms. Seems kinda weird that you could type like this but works fine for me. Some touchpad software is smart and wont active the touchpad within .01ms of a keystroke. You might try looking to see if your laptop has dedicated touchpad software for it outside of the basic windows driver support on the manufacturers homepage. I imagine MacOS already has this built in or something. |

I kept touching the trackpad when hitting the spacebar with my thumb. What works best for me is turning the trackpad off and relying more on keyboard shortcuts and using ctrl and shift in combination with arrow keys and home/end keys. When you learn the basics for text editing you'll be much more efficient, it's faster than clicking icons or moving things around with a mouse. |
