All the current games suck. Your interest in games will obviously decrease if the games gets worse.. Only playable game for me right now is quakelive.
If you liked UO you should check out darkfall coming up in 1 week, first release I'm looking forward to since SC2.

I think most people who has played for 10+ years agree with you.. but as I said I def think darkfall is the number one game of all time so there's still hope for me atleast

im exactly in the same situation except im only 22

for me no game can even come close to the perfection of warcraft 3

also i think our priorites just changed, while in elementary and high school all i cared about is to go home and play games....now its a lot of other stuff

All of what you said is right, ~ Im not sure if the games are just not good anymore or whether our priorities have changed etcetc and just playing computer games doesnt feel the same void in the brain it did as a kid..

I played through fallout 1 and 2 over a few months and o m g what a challenge, when im finishing fallout 2 i findout fallout 3 is coming out in 1 week rofl meant to be right.

Now I really enjoyed fallout 3 but it was no challenge, the games nowadays are a joke when it comes to difficulty..

I ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY loved UO - played it until siege perilous got a ridiculous patch that stopped it being tough at all ~~ I havent heard of darkfall but just looked at some reviews there real quick and most of the reviews were pretty negative... Have you played or know more than I?

Don't worry it's not you, it's just the decay of the gaming industry to push out half ass titles to maximize profits.

Hmm, I think it's more of a timing issue, most 27-28 year olds dont have time to play computer games.

Can relate a lot lol, not found any love for games in years the way I used to for 15+ years. I did enjoy myself a lot first 5 - 8 days of D3, but then it turned to uber shit xD

i used to think games got worse, but then i realize i was just getting old, and kind of not interested in 'games' in general.

Over the last few months I have enjoyed XCOM, Borderlands 2 and FTL. Soon I will be playing Hotline Miami, Dishonored and time permitting Black Mesa so hopefully they don't disappoint. If you haven't done so maybe check out the ones I've mentioned and see if they interest you.

With the advent of Kickstarter there has been a resurgence of old school games which are remakes, sequels and new games from old developers. There are also a lot of cool indie games getting funded.

UO was a great game. If byrne reads this blog he will surely post some UO pics like he always does.

Most games suck for me now as well, unless I'm stoned. I really liked absolution I don't get everyones beef with that game, just have some food ready while you are playing.

todays games suck. Too focused on graphics not enough on gameplay.

im only 23, but i feel kind of the same about most new computer games - i also got a perf char in d3 with 300-400 times played, skyrim was cool at first but i didnt even finish it..

games like GTA5 might be really good lets see..

right now theres one game that from what I can tell has HUGE potential; arma2 Day Z

seriously! as soon as its released as a game itself (which was announced to be end of 2012) and not as an alpha mod for arma2 it will most likely take over the world

and sooner or later everyone will be prepared for the zombie apocalypse xD check it out if you dont want to quit the nerding just yet^^

Regarding UO and Darkfall:

UO is the prolly the best game ever mainly because of:
sick good pvp
full loot
skillpoint (levling) system

Darkfall have these three things, reason I think darkfall was even better is because it supports large scale battles better. Teamplay is key in battles and if you've got friends/guild to play with it's definitely more fun.
battles are a mix between quake/mmo/skyrim I guess. you've got a spellbar etc and it's FPS view with bows and magic so it requires aim/movement like quake for example.

Reviews etc are obv bad because of skill curve imo, fucking good luck playing this game as a newbie. You log in, you try to kill the first monsters maybe, you'll get ganked by someone better, he takes all your stuff, etc. you can imagine. also the UI in DF1 sucked kinda.
But pretty much everyone that played darkfall more than a few days is coming back for DF2 now 12th dec, I think most of us put it on our top3 game list.

Anyways most people who try it will probably dislike and quit, here's a preview videos for the upcoming sequel, they removed the good old UO skillsystem they had in the first game (you shoot with a bow, you gain bow skill, max X amount of skills etc.) and put in a semi-class system

I feel this away about all console games nowadays. I been rocking hon for a bit for comp but like i cant even buy any ps3 or xbox games cause like the last 10 or so i just buy and then play like 1 or 2 times then never touch. i played skyrim for a bit longer than those but eventually just stopped playing that as well. I dunno what it is. 26 here.

I was kinda the same... have you played Bastion, Mark of the Ninja, Torchlight II ? I had more fun with those than something like BlackOps, Battlefield 3, need for speed, fifa, etc.

or maybe downloading an emulator and play old classics, like golden eye 64, zelda ocarina ?
