98% of hands at 1/2. Started out playing looser, too much variance, tightened up in a lot of spots after talking to some better players, ended up as 22.5/18.2/3.8, zzzzzzz
Not gonna complain in this one. Just glad I hit my goal (40k hands).
Going to get rich in November, that will be the month I finally win a stupid ass donkament. Overall profit on the month including rakeback and other stuff is around 3500. BLEH, oh well I'll take it.
i barely have time to play poker anymore. school is killing a ton of time. next week is my last midterm so hopefully i can start gettin some decent # of hands in.
my stock profolio is up over 100% this month. w00t? good to be on the side of the trend. which i think is up.. right now. pretty much caught a lot of movements this month. i think in the short term we'll be going up a lot. this is a good temporary bottom for now. was also reading some newsletters the other day and from the general perspective, short term is like 1 year.. lol wtf. i wont have the patience to hold it for that long to see if my positions work out or not.
basically im lookin for some cool retracements nowadays since i think we're goin to be in a uptrend these few months.
basically it was valued at like $180 few months ago and went on a freefall, its gonna bounce back since the direction of the trend has changed. stuff that cant really be explained but just work magically to give odds. graph of US Steel is below
this is the least amount of hands i played in like since i ever started playin real money. that's how bad my motivation is for poker right now. i also blame school.
other than that i dont have any real tracking stuff for my stocks since my discount broker zecco charges $ to view ur performance. im up ~9000$ this month from a $8800 profolio. so thats good
add 5555$ from poker, 1050$ from rakeback. still ballin ^_^
So, October was a great month. I played a lot of live poker, including 5 live tournaments. The first tournament was a preliminary event at WPT Festa al lago at Bellagio. I busted out pretty quickly in that. I made it kind of deep in a satellite to the $15k but didnt manage to grab a seat to that either. Then a couple of days later I head to Bellagio in the morning for a cash session and pick up a Cardplayer magazine while I'm waiting and see an ad in there that says Caesars Palace Classic October 16-29. There was a $1,500 event going on that day in about an hour so I just decide to head over to Caesars since Bellagio was kind of dead anyways. Turns out to be a fantastic decision since I won the tournament for 80k + a free seat to the 10k event of that series.
I made it to day 2 of the 10k along with several of LP's finest only to bust in like 80th (27 paid). Khan ended up shipping the whole thing and thanks to me being Swapper of the year I made 50k off of his win. Seriously this is the 2nd 10k event that i've swapped any % in and the guy i swap with ends up winning the tournament both times? Come to me if you want to win a tournament just swap with me. So before October my biggest winning month was 45k, but thanks to the run good-a-thon that is Oct 08 i ship the 140k month. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Morning all. 4 days till the election. If you're still undecided, I think this guy lays it all out pretty well in this vid:
Also check out this video about an Obama volunteer in Boulder, CO. I grew up in Boulder and my dad still lives there. I live about 30 minutes away now. This vid gives a sense of the feeling I was talking about in the comments the other day of such a positive energy coming from the amazing people I've met while working on the Obama campaign.

best day ever saves the monthby remember87, October 31
Right now poker feels real fun again. The past week I have watched a lot of CR-videos and man, they are good! I have learned so much!
The biggest difference since before is that I am much more aggressiv.. Before I played about 17/13/3 with a 3bet % around 4. The past days I have played 19/15/4,5 with a 3bet around 7. I still might play a bit tight but its going in the right direction.
I also felt like I was reading my opponents much better compared to last week. Today I crusched the tables feeling like I knew exactly what they had all the time. So I won a bit more then 7 BI over 1300 hands. This isnt my biggest win in one day but I must say I have never played so good before!
So the past 2 days saved my pokermonth. I was going for the worst month ever but ended in only one of my 3 worst months.
Right now I am longing to get to November so I can get a nice winning month. I cant see with the CR videos and everything that I wont do that.
My goal right now is to pass 10k before christmas so I can start to play NL400 in the beginning of 2009...
got myself back in the black on my FTP account...finally, been really up and down on there the last few weeks, but been really happy with my poker in the last few days and got my roll on ftp from $30 to back up to over the $100 i got free :D
the hand that got me past the 100 came at the perfect time, just after a hand that played out almost identically
played in a few tournaments aswell in the last few days, done ok, nothing specially, only cashed in one though. A bit unsure of my tournament play, sometimes im really happy with it but alot of the time i get angry at myslef for playing too nitty or too loose , but still learning so looking forward to trying to improve that part of my game (along with the rest of it :D)
Well I went for my 1st kickboxing lesson and man must I say, I had a headache after. Very good exercise, my brother was there too filming, and we took turns punching each other too, but didn't get that on tape. If i keep this up i should be preaty good at this within the years I think.
First i'll start with the last few days; i've been playing some lower stakes 6max because its fun and i really want to improve my 6max game. This month is my best month yet, kept losing everything at nl25 6max so i decided to give fullring a shot. ran like god through nl25fr -> nl50fr, then reached 100nl and brokevenish over like 25k hands. Anyway heres main graphs from this month, Month graph, 100nlFR graph, 25nl6max graph.
On my quest to supernova! I bet you're thinking "You still play poker? When? How do you have time amongst all these fucking blog posts?" All I have to say to that is.... I KNOWWWWW!!!
This has been a good month. Basically it all coincides from the beginning of my full time coaching with sakisaki. We started doing regular lessons at the beginning of this month and things have been great ever since. I've had a few downswings in that time but I've dealt with it well. I've developed a lot of confidence @ NL100 which I'd lost in the last few months. I can feel a huge difference in the way I play and the decisions I make and it's awesome. I still have soooo much to learn but I'm studying as hard as my busy schedule allows and going over lots of hands with saki. The biggest thing I've done is eliminate spew, most importantly by avoiding getting myself into stupid situations.
Once the election is over I'm going to add more lessons to my schedule and hopefully become a solid NL200 winner by the end of the year. Most of that depends on hitting a heater and no downswings so that I can build my BR enough. Skill wise I think I could probably hold my own @ NL200 right now though I still need a lot of work to be a big winner there - but with more coaching and 2 months to focus on it I think I can learn what I need.
Now I just gotta keep playing like this and I'll make those 2,400 vpp for supernova soon and then be able to start bringing in lots of FPP to buy bonuses as rakeback! woot =)
I also want to give a big thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog this month. It looks like the political season has added to the hits like crazy. I checked the stats thing at the bottom of the "my blog" page and I had a crazy jump this month from 4,235 in Sept to 13,836 in October. According to the stats my best month in 2007 was 2,048 hits, hehe. Of course I'm posting a shitload of blogs due to the election so that will increase views, but there's also a lot of people visiting even when the blog is off the front page and that's pretty sweet. So thank you to everyone who's been reading, commenting and showing support =)
Solid day. Question for students.by EXCELED, October 30
Absolute poker is treating me pretty nicely... maybe Im running good? I think it more so has to do with my table selection and stop loss. Ive been watching the tables pretty closely since Im a new player on AP and when they seem good (high % players to flop + relative short stacks) I jump in a make a few bucks then leave. Ive found that if I win around 15-20BB Im happy with that and can leave. So far its worked to my advantage. Heres my stats since I jumped on AP 3 days ago.
So in 3 days im up 60BB! Pretty nice. Im running at 4.27BB/100 which might not be sustainable with the rake but I think I can keep it up there at these limits. Its pretty soft games. Ive paid another 40BB in rake... ew. Good thing I have rakeback. Hopefully I can keep playing well for a while because I could use some extra money right now.
Ive been trying to save for school which today I found out I got into a course I really wanted to take which is awesome. Now I have to figure out how I can grab a student loan to help out with rent and shit when I move down to London. If anyone from Canada has gone through this process Id be interested in hearing on what kind of deal you cut with your parents... if your parents are rich and they pay for it all I dont care. Im thinking my school costs for the year will be about 2k and thats not including rent for a year. Im looking at places right now that rent out for about 400-450 a month. Im going to be moving with 1 buddy for sure maybe 3. I have to figure out how I can work this financialy with myself and my parents. Ive heard OSAP helps out with tuition but Im not sure If I can get that right now or if Im even qualified. Anyways if you are a student and had this problem that I had I would like to know how you guys went about it.
Right now Im going to go out with some buddies, smoke a j and chill out. If the tables are good when I get back then maybne Ill jump on and grind out a little bit of a win.
This is some of the most ridiculous footage I've seen in this campaign.
The latest last ditch effort by the McCain camp is to say that Obama hangs out with Anti-Semitic people, but the one guy they are highlighting is ALSO someone that McCain has shown support by giving over $400,000 to him. So when McCain supports this guy it's ok, but when Obama attends a conference associated with this guy then Obama is Anti-Semitic? wtf kind of logic is that.
On top of it they keep doing the "Pals around with terrorists" (note the 's' at the end suggesting it's more than just Ayers, a guy he sat on a board with) shit, and try to expand this idea to the Anti-Semitic attack line. Watch this McCain flak totally cop out when asked to name another person that Obama hangs around.
ROFL - "You know who we're talking about". What is this fifth grade? wow.
I started the week great going up 6 BI. Then I began to play bad and started to lose the important AI situations, yesterday I lost 3 BI with AK v. KK in BvB situations pre.. So I dropped 9 BI in 2 days.
Today I played ok, some pots I played great but I also made som mistakes. This is the biggest mistake in my pokerlife so far: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/557825
I was 100% shure I had him but forgot to push the timebank while I was playing another big pot and I realized that the time was running out 1/100 of a second to late . I even pushed the timebank button before I folded but the site reacts so slow that my hand was folded...
Well, mistakes are meant to be learned from. I tilted in 10 minutes but when I´d calmed downed I realized that we were more than 400bb deep. Since he was a fish that had some luck I played oop for an hour but never got the chance to stack him off. Too bad... But I ended up more than 4 BI tonight anyway
I wasn't going anywhere on ipoker, I dunno if I had a permanent tilt in my mind or I was just not up to the competition and blindly thought I was. Whatever it was I certainly didn't make money there. It was really hard for me to do, but I was losing too much every day and never really had good winning streak to make it back. I really don't know what's next for me, I feel pretty retarded since I had like 25k on ipoker two months ago and I only withdrew the 5k left, but I will have around 4.5-5k RB too. Really weird as I'm feeling twice as unmotivated as doing anything else than poker, I guess I will find a new hobby overtime. I would be really happy to keep playing this game would I be running good obv but it has gotten to the point where losing has taken a lot of the will and fun away.
