[Huge Whine] Am I the fucking chosen one !?by ikc5, November 09
50k hands or so on UB, +$250 which is untracked because my pt2 didn't want to import the hands. I'm marginally up(about $600 total) after rakeback and bonus dollars. Everyone and their mom says it's impossible to have a breakeven/losing stretch over this many hands at microstakes.
I don't even feel like posting my EV graph it takes me forever to load the hands. Red line is 30 bi over blue line, green line is about 12 bi below that. Allin luck I'm about 17 bi below. I'm don't think pokerev is all that accurate though, I dunno, I'll let whoever is reading this decide.
I'm not going to lie and say I don't have leaks, I just have no idea if my leaks are bad enough to get these kinds of results. I'm constantly working on my game, posting hands, and have subscriptions to deucescracked and cardrunners. I put a shitload of effort into improving at this game and I was a 5ptbb winner on stars for 40k hands before I moved to ub. I just want to get some opinions, possible to run this bad or should I just quit poker?
Played some in the past few days and won a few buyins at 100NL. Then out of nowhere I ran pretty bad and started almost monkey tilting because nothing would hit, opponents caught cards and air was getting snapped off hard. Halfway through the hour long session I thought "okay, I am able to collect myself no problems. Play my B game" but that didn't work out. Thank god I've got good ego control and am able to log off whenever I recognise I'm not playing my A game. But still that was a pretty tilty session I've had. Decided to grind up those losses at 50NL to regain momentum.
3000
+320
-350 tiltsssss!
+200 at 50NL
Rejoining 100NL at 3500
I've got absolutely no reason to rush through this and if I'm gonna do this right, 5th times the charm. Cheers
Really interesting article in the new yorker chronicling the way the "Old John McCain", (a guy I respected and would consider voting for) was thrown to the side and "McPalin" came to life.
A defining moment of the “old” John McCain—as many Americans, even some of his friends, have begun to refer to him as he was before his run for the Presidency in 2008—took place in February, 2000, during his first bid for the White House, when he was challenging George W. Bush for the Republican nomination in the South Carolina primary. McCain had recently upset Bush in New Hampshire and was in a buoyant mood, vowing that, like “Luke Skywalker fighting the Death Star,” he would not only defeat Bush but reform a party corrupted by “big money” and, as he later put it, “agents of intolerance.”
Within days, sordid attacks began to appear: flyers on car windows claiming that McCain, who had adopted an orphan from Bangladesh, actually had fathered a black child; recorded phone messages, or robo-calls, spreading rumors that McCain’s wife, Cindy, who had once been addicted to prescription painkillers, was a junkie; and lies, propagated by an obscure group of Vietnam veterans, suggesting that McCain had become a traitor while serving in Vietnam.
McCain’s response was decisive: he pulled from television his negative advertisements, and announced to supporters, “If we don’t prevail, my friends, we know that we have taken the honorable way.” On the evening of the primary, McCain and his family watched the returns in a hotel suite in Charleston. As the polls came in, showing that he had lost by more than ten points, Cindy wept. “How could they believe all that about you?” she said of the public.
McCain, after embracing his wife and children, headed down to a ballroom to deliver his concession speech. “I will not take the low road to the highest office in this land,” he said. “I want the Presidency in the best way—not the worst way. The American people deserve to be treated with respect by those who seek to lead the nation. And I promise you: you will have my respect until my last day on earth. The greatest blessing of my life was to have been born an American, and I will never . . . dishonor the nation I love or myself by letting ambition overcome principle. Never. Never. Never.”
In the final weeks of the 2008 campaign, it became clear that John McCain might lose more than the Presidency. On October 6th, slipping steeply in the polls, he held a rally in Albuquerque. Rather than speak off the cuff, as he preferred, he kept his eyes on a teleprompter. During the 2000 race, McCain was known as the “happy warrior,” but now his tone was harsh. Angrily waving a finger, McCain portrayed his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama, as a shadowy figure who never seemed to reveal his true identity. McCain noted that Obama’s campaign recently had to “return thirty-three thousand dollars in illegal foreign funds from Palestinian donors.” McCain urged the audience to wonder, “Who is the real Barack Obama?”
Before he even finished the speech, he and his aides had begun their now notorious campaign—sometimes in public, sometimes sub rosa—to supply insinuating answers to this question. Ads appeared accusing Obama, who had served on the boards of two charities with William Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground, of being allied with a “terrorist.” Voters received flyers featuring a mug shot of Ayers and the words “Terrorist. Radical. Friend of Obama.” Then came the same kind of robo-calls that had savaged McCain in 2000, and that he had once denounced as messages of “hate.” McCain even hired one of the same firms that Bush used in 2000. The messages warned, among other things, that Obama had tried to stop doctors from caring “for babies born alive after surviving attempted abortions.” Meanwhile, McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, charged that Obama was “palling around with terrorists.” Other surrogates claimed that Obama was “anti-American,” a “guy of the street” who “used cocaine,” and had “friends that bombed the Pentagon.” According to Newsweek, Michelle Obama asked an aide, “Why would they try to make people hate us?”

Imagine that hand 6 more times. For some reason holdem manager wasn't copy/pasting shit right so the other hands were just this hand over again.
Biggest winnners.. I won 2 hands this session for more than 1/2 a buyin. Two sets that magically didn't get sucked out on.
Thank you Clark for shitting the bed for the second game in a row and giving it away when it counted most. Learn how to not throw the ball 5 yards over the fucking reciever's head into the safety's chest with 4 minutes left up by just 2 next time.
Guess I'll see everyone in Pasadena instead of Miami (if we can somehow not fuck it up against Indiana or MSU...watch us lose to the Spartans too).
FML I wish I wasn't sick or I'd be drowning myself in alcohol somewhere right now.
At least "Tropic Thunder" was good and got me laughing a bit, though.
Well, I'm not sure how many of you know this, probably none of you, but i was purposely under-rolling myself @ 25nl. I started it after a June July and August break-even or losing 3 month skid @ nl 10. I started 25nl with $150 in september and during september and mid august i built it up to approx. $370 twice thru about 50k hands. (once, then went down to 250, then back up to 370). I then got coolered and went card dead for a while, and now i'm just about back where i started @175. This has taught me a better understanding of BRM, because now i am uncormfortable with my roll at this level. I wasn't before because i wasn't going to let myself lose (funny, b/c i wish i could say that now...) I was a nit when i started and it worked, got to a comfortable br, but now it's low, so i'm starting all-over again back at 2nl. I am up 10bi in the last couple of days, and i will be playing 2nl until i get to a comfortable level again. I would say move up at $200, but i don't think i am mentally prepared yet. I am trying to study more poker before i move up to 5nl. When i am ready, i am sure i will know it, and obv be prepared for it, as i already have 39bi for 5nl.
In other news, i played the 30+3 on cake last night, got 70th out of like 383 i think. Pretty ridiculous, never had a big stack, stayed around 6-7K all night, then the first hand back from the second break 8bb deep on the button i get AA and there were 5 limpers (blinds 300/600 w/ 25 ante) so i shove obv, get called by 2 people, flop was safe, however one of the players who was near the top of the leader board called my bet with A8dd, and caught runner runner for the nut flush. =/ so i wasn't itm, but i did knock i guy out and it was a bounty, so i got 10 bucks back.
My 2nd job just ended (season is over, i was an umpire for the YMCA) so i was lucky and found a 3rd job to replace my 2nd one. I am an assistant for a real estate agent. Pretty sweet little gig i have going. She paid me upfront for my work i did today, what i will do tomorrow, and the project i have due tuesday. $400, and i really should only work for about 8 hours or so total, if i take my sweet ass time on the project. It's easy work too, all i do is walk around a neighborhood and put flyers up letting people know about an open-house they are having. If the house sells to a person i gave the ad to, i BANK. "We will take care of you" qft. It's a shame the house is about 5K sqft and about $900,000. It's a beautiful home, on a golf course. I'd buy it if i had a mill laying around.
My schedule is pretty busy the next 6 weekends. Tomorrow i have "work", 2 papers, a project, 7 chapters of homework i have to do, and 2 tests i have to study for. Once i make it past that however, life will be fun. Next weekend i am going to McMurry University to visit them and meet their baseball coach (this is my last year of eligibility for Junior College), The weekend after that i am "camping", then the weekend after that i will be w/ family for Thanksgiving, then the first weekend of December i will be in Iowa to visit William Penn University and talk to their coach, then the weekend of the 13th, I will be getting absolutely SCHLOMMERED ON MY 21ST FUCKING BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and going to SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANNA AND PLAYING POKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLZ YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That will probably be the last weekend i will have with you guys as i predict my Blood Alcohol Level will be 1.34 = dead.
=)
GL everyone i am playing in a tourney and grinding cake!!
after running like horseshit for a week, i decided to play microstakes and shrug off the variance and just keep grinding where i actually win, well the first few sessions just tilted me more coz i barely broke profit even at 25nl ffs. last nite decided to take that SN tourney a little more seriously after winning 13bi at microstakes, i always get ITM in the sn freeroll but never did get anything going until tonight - bad run for the month is over i guess...

So after my massive fails in earlier blog posts, I've finally picked up my game. I feel as though I'm really crushing NL25 at the moment. My biggest leak was that I would stack off too lightly, which I fixed. Though sometimes I might make some bad folds, it's much better to fold for 0 EV than call and take a huge negative EV proposition.
More importantly, I was also playing SC the other day on iccup. Haven't played in a while; I used to be C- ish, but I played a TvZ vs someone named shipitholla_1. Asked if he was from TL or LP, but he said 2+2 and I instantly crushed him, gg.
Since my previous post in August I got a bit lazy with the blog, and also with Poker in general. Not from lack of wanting to play but more from being busy irl and at work. That's not to say I haven't been playing- I have played a little, even returning to my learning grounds of Ladbrokes and earning bonuses on a few other sites.
I'm rolled for NL50 now and tbh the thing that spurred me to make this post was basically (aka disguised brag) doubling my roll in a 180 man donkament tonight:
Nov 3 + 43,80 $
Nov 4 + 26.50 $
nov 5 + 32 $
Nov 6 + 148 $
Nov 7 + 70 $
Nov 8 + 35 $
+ 355 $
Allthough i spew a ton of money and could have made much more today
somewhere at the end of my session i got bored with the eaze of Nl25 and spew away a ton trying to create difficult situations to induce more fun >-<
I will go out with friends now and drink some beers instead of doing an evening session.
I also guess i will try some 1 table Nl50 Hu shots vs fish tomorrow
I should be siginificantly better than the average Nl50 HU player and especially at weekends its full of fish.
So far results.
started with 199$ from Nl10 6days ago
BR now 554.60$
great session to offset the craptastic one the night before. gf + a buddy were here bringin me luck.
hit some big hands where i did win, my aces held up and the idiots i valuetowned didnt manage to hit their 3 outers most of the the time. poker can be so easy and fun.
other then that im still playing pretty nitty (17.5/13.5) for my old standarts but i think this is ok on nl25.
30k hands playd now after my break and close to 3ptbb/100 again.
oh and perfect hand: Submitted by : BeMannerPenner

No work.. not so bad sometimes.by EXCELED, November 08
Yet again I didnt have to go into work. It kinda sucks becuase I need all the money Ican for school but w/e. Ill take what I can get. No point in going to look for another job that Im only going to be wokring at for a month and a bit. Since I didnt have to work I put in a nice early morning session. Just so happeneds I got into some realy good juicy games and ran very hot.
This is my graph for the morning session. 68BB in under 300 hands.... yea I ran unreal. Huge donks actually were making really big hands against me but I still had the bigger hand and played them to maximum value. I think I had set over set 3 times and everytime I had the bigger one. I had a couple guys go crazy with there two pair vs my nut straight once or twice which was nice too.
This is the graph so far this month. Starting to look a lot sexier. I kno its a small sample still but my stats are right where I want them so far and my new adjustments that Ive made are working well.
Im going to start taking a new line with middle pair on a pretty dry board. I think if I start raising the turn a bit more I will be able to get a free showdown this way becuase the player will usually check down the river. If a brick hits I can valuetown it as well.
Running hot is always nice. I think Im going to go make a feast then maybe play a tourney before I go to hocey. Hopefully tonight we actually burry the team were playing because there just a bunch of clownshows.
Your cbets work 10% of the time
All your decent hands are 3bet by nits
Scare cards ruin your action
You flop the nuts in a multiway pot and get no action
Every draw misses
