-4BI session

Got my stack in bad twice: my JJ vs AK vs 56cc on AcJc8c in a squeezed pot, J9 vs 33 on J93 with a FD (guy was a monkey, 33 was obv the tippy top of the worlds widest stack off range)

Lost a bunch of flips (AdAx vs K7 on K76ddd, TT vs 96ss on 752ssx)

Ran bad (KK v JT on Txx bvb), etc

http://i33.tinypic.com/149s2m1.png

The frustrating thing about nl25 (and below) is that you're so dependent on the cards in order to have a winning session. Because people are so stationy postflop once they have a hand, it's next to impossible to make moves in big pots, except against certain regs. I'm not complaining, the inability of fish to let go of TP for a BI is great in the long run, but you only get so many chances with your set or overpair to stack them, and if they suck out on you, you can't really bluff your way back into the green that session.

Oh well, still +9 BI in 19k this month. Run good everyone.

+ Show Spoiler +

But ive been VERY disapointed by the movie, the first one was awesome and this one is more like a cheap action movie. I was so happy they fired Brosnan cuz this guy sucks major ballz and Craig was just amazing in the first opus. But Quantum of Solace is an empty baloon and even the introduction was crappy, and i always loved the Bonds movies introductions (especially the last one, made by the lead singer of soundgarden and audioslave).

POKAH:

Oh and obv i needed to cash out 1k$ leaving scratch behind (80ish$) that i turned to almost 1k after grinding for the last 6 days. I think im starting to get very addicted by the game and feel the urge to put 4k hands daily. Im such a degenerate, hopefully ill get a decent roll to jump back at nl100 asap.

UFC 91 picks by Fox, November 14

Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar

not much to say about this, this wouldn't be a quesiton if Randy was 38-39 range. Apparently he has to prove himself again. Randy's ability is to pressure his opponent and break them mentally. Enter in a guy who's got a 2-1 record.... with almost no MMA experience.

Sorry but yeah lesnar is a monster but randy wins this TKO 4th round.

Joe Stevenson vs. Kenny Florian

Florian is really a gamer, he's beaten guys with good standup and guys with good ground. he's very balanced and his strength is awesome. He's also tasted 5 rounds for a title so he's upgraded. Joe is also awesome and he has the tools to win, unfortunately i don't know if he can finish kenny and 3rd round kenny is gonna be more fresh and if Joe wilts at all kenny wins.

UD for Kenny.

Nate Quarry vs. Demian Maia

quarry big and strong and has power. He's not flashy or super talented but he's solid and experienced and that could pose a problem for Maia. Unfortunately i can't bet against maia because his guard is too sexy and i really think he's upgraded for this fight. Maia 2nd round sub or UD.

Dustin Hazelett vs. Tamdan McCrory

Dustin by armbar. McCrory not good enough to stop Dustin's slick bjj

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Josh Hendricks

Gonzaga by armbar. Hendricks has good wrestling but not enough all around skill to keep from getting tapped.

Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley

Riley by UD. Gurgel is an idiot.

Matt Brown vs. Ryan Thomas

Thomas i guess, don't know enough about them to call it.

Mark Bocek vs. Alvin Robinson

Bocek got pounded out by Franky so i'm gonna go with Robinson.

Jeremy Stephens vs. Rafael dos Anjos

Stephens by strikes 2nd round.

Update! by Fayth, November 14

Hello I haven't posted anything since WPT, basically right before i went to WPT at Niagara Falls i was up 117k for october, the day RIGHT before I drove over there I had a 88k downswing on 50/100 and 25/50, kinda sucked but was still looking forward to just rebuild it within like 2 or 3 weeks, while at niagara i bought some actions of some friends over there for a total of 5k, + the 10k for my buy in, and nobody cashed, so that was -15k there too.....

PLUS I grinded online for the remaining days and lost an extra 75k....

so all in all i went from +117 to -65k, something like that....

so that was obviously my biggest downswing ever, felt kinda bad about it but still looking forward to rebuilding....

So i moved back down to 3/6 and 5/10 HU, won back like 35k for the rest of october to end the month -30k (first losing month this year)

I actually took a day off on november 1st, which is something I very rarely do, felt good, then back on the grind on november 2nd, since then I won back 90k

so i can proudly say I won back 125k from that 180k downswing and looking to even it out by the end of november! =)

Going to play the 5000+200 event on ftp tomorow as well as the 500$ HU tourney, wish me luck!

cheers! ^_^

3 Hrs. Ship $1.25 by EXCELED, November 14

Fuck man I dont know whats going on today but Ive been playing for about 3 hours and made a whopping $1.25. Prettttty break even the whole time. Just couldnt get anything going. It seemed like I would get a nice stack going then just get coolered everytime on the river and boom back to even. Kinda of a pain in the ass. Look:

http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp360/mbs03/Nov14.jpg

Not like im in the minus or anything but just annoying more then anything.

There is one solution to this that seems to work everytime for me:

http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp360/mbs03/mj24-1.jpg

Time to smoke a blunt.
Later folks,

EXCELED

UPDATE

Thanks to a break and some herb I just had a sick session. I took a break, went out with some buddies, came home and started only 2 tabling one $.25/$.50 and a $.25/$.50 LHE. I decided I wanted to take a shot at $.50/$.1 because I am really close to being rolled right now.

It went damn good on both tables and I managed to book a pretty nice win. I won about 46BB at the $.25/.$.50 and $15 BB at $.50/$.1. Pretty good. I got a pretty good feel for that $.50/.$1 game so hopefully the games are pretty similar to that one.

Played in a LHE donkament... there was only 500 ppl in it. Things started off strong but I went card dead at the end and buddy rivered a gutter on my KK to bust out 121/500. No money there.

Going to play in a tourney then crash because it sucks having to wake up at 5:00am.

Rough 20k Hand day, 247k Hands total, +10k month! by Joeingram1, November 14

Just want to start off with saying thanks to the people that have been reading my blog so far and that have left me really encouraging comments and sent me messages. Hopefully can inspire some people out there to play more hands and make some more money for themselves.

And yes I do have a life/friends/family/gf but this month I'm just putting them off to the side so I can accomplish this. The gf still comes around often and she is okay with me playing poker and not with her lol. She will be on the webcam this weekend I believe as she is staying over for a few days. www.justin.tv/chicagojoey is the link for my webcam I have been keeping throughtout this prop bet.

Yesterday pretty much sucked for me. Ran super super bad against the fish who hit there miracle 2 pair/trips card everytime we got it all in and at one point was down 1.3k but rallied late to only finish down a few hundred which I actually considered a victory. I don't think it was any coincedence that this happened while I was almost finished up clearing a 4k Fpp bonus lol.

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr143/joeingram1/yesterdaysession.jpg

But At the end of the day when I finished up I officially had 10k in my Poker Stars account. I escrowed about 2k-3k for the different prop bets I have so should have gotten there faster but after I finish clearing my 2k Milestone bonus It will officially be a 10k month for me.

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr143/joeingram1/mybankrollson.jpg

Honestly when I first started grinding nl25 back in June I could never have even dreamed I would ever have 10k at one time. I was struggling to make it to 1k and wondering if it was even possible to ever make money playing poker. Well about 7k in cash outs and a ton of hands I have finally gotten to the point I set out to reach and its a surreal feeling. The sick thing is I'll be able to get another 4k fpp bonus by the end of the month, plus, I stand to get back about 8k total if i can win both prop bets. I could ship my first 10k month and my first 20k month lol, just crazy shit.

Heres my total graph so far though 247k hands total, still 13k off pace but I will probably make that up this this weekend when the games are super super super super good, just hope i can run decent.

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr143/joeingram1/247khandsofar.jpg

Okay just a couple of hands to show everyone out there that I am not such a nit and I dont fold sets/overpairs all the time

Obv here I check/call 2 streets for value, The turn and river really miss his range so he usually either has the nuts here or nothing

7 Hr - 9,200 hands by k2o4, November 14

WTF did I just do - lol. That's what happens when I drink. I came home with a few beers in me and a few more to drink so I sat down on NL50 (moved down 1 limit, smart!) and proceeded to 20-24 table for 7 hours. As I got going I decided I wanted to play 10k hands in 1 session cause I'd never done that before. I had to quit @ 9,200 cause I was spewing like crazy. I dumped about 4-5 buyins right at the end. Stacking off in 3bet pots for no good reason, plus shoving 150 bb deep with 2 pair on a board that wouldn't get called by worse. I just saw that he was a donk and decided I needed to maximize value, hahahaha. I sure did, but for him, not me.

I quit the session going "oh god how bad is the damage" cause I figured I was in the hole a couple buyins. Turns out I somehow was up 11 buyins at one point! I had no idea. If I'd known I woulda quit - fuck that 10k shit, 11 buyins is much better. Sadly I only came out with a 5 buyin win for the session due to my session closing spew.

http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//Graph-11-13-08-NL50-1days.jpg

I ran so fucking bad too - JJ on a AJR board in a 3bet pot ran into a backdoor boat for AK and more shit like that.

It's funny how many times you get AA/KK when 24 tabling. Even when you're playing like a nit you feel loose cause you're always playing hands nonstop cause you get premiums so often.

My head hurts very badly. I'm in the hungover state. I think that's what went wrong - I needed more beer to avoid feeling this pain and losing focus.

new trance mix by rockman255, November 14

i havent really been doing much dj or music stuff in general(put out no mixes sept-oct) but today i was inspired to make a couple mixes, one of them was pure trance ravey type sounding stuff, and the other one was more like house music with a discoey chill sound. i might upload the disco one later.

trance mix: www.musicv2.com/direct.php?id=56294 fits on 1 cd ish 72 mb?

tracklisting upon request

peace guys

(ps disclaimer its not new music, its just random stuff, some is new some is not)

(more disclaimer: the genre is kind of not dead on, it kind of has a bunch of random stuff in it)

Boogie Man by TenBagger, November 13

It's been said that you can't understand American politics without understanding Lee Atwater. I knew that he was the protege to Karl Rove and that he ran Bush senior's diry campaign in '88. But I didn't know the full story until I saw Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story on the PBS documentary Frontline earlier this week. This is truly a remarkable, eye opening show and I highly recommend anyone with an interest in American politics to watch it. I guarantee that you will find it fascinating.

This program aired on Frontline earlier this week and since it is unavailable on the PBS website, I had fenner host it here for you all to download:

Amber by CrownRoyal, November 13

The Sun rises;
The Sun sets
The tides rise;
The tides fall

We blissfully caress our souls
Feeling that passion but letting it go
Not knowing which direction we should follow
We get lost in the idea of love

When the Sun doesn't rise anymore
The tides seem to stay idle
A strange equilibrium of eloquence
A clock without time

Stuck in your way
A thorn in our sides
We feel the passion
That is our soul
God exists through this
Giving a sermon that no preacher could ever preach
An understood code of emotion

We are one,
Accept.

So I'm playing NL10, and in one week won almost 20 BI, then I had a weekend of just breaking even no matter what I did, and now I've lost about 10 BI over this last week. Is this normal? It's really making me paranoid about my playing, I don't know if I'm playing differently now, or if I'm just getting unluckly now, or if I'm just a bad player who got lucky for a while.

edit: immediately after posting this I win 2 BI. what a crazy game.
