running hot I guess

Played some donkaments as well but didn't get deep in any of those. Seems like everytime I have AK somebody wakes up with AA etc.

Just gonna keep playing 25nl untill the end of the month and hopefully get to 1.5k+ profit; would be real nice. Rakeback will be around 500-600$ at this rate. Really looking forward to moving up to 50NL next month.

1k/day+massgrinding by lachlan, November 15

uni is over finally (fuck uni!!) so im going to try and take poker really seriously starting tomorrow and grind a certain number of hands per day. theoretically my goal is to try and make $1,000 (AUD) every day for 30 days, i dont think it's unachievable since google says 1k AUD is $666 USD. and at Nl200FR if i play 10k hands a day that's already $220USD just in FPP rakeback, so i would need to win 1 buyin every 5000 hands i play. (um... that is 0.5ptbb/100, 1BB/100... thats not hard for me 12-14 tabling short sessions but i dont think ill play as good as i normally do if playing long hours and mass hands)

if i factor in potentially mixing in nl400 tables once my roll is a bit fatter i think its definitely achievable

biggest task will be grinding out the hands day after day.

i'm starting to get used to 24 tabling, anyway just wanted to know of the players out there who grind a shitload (intensedawg, handbanana, mipwnya, wobbly) how do you schedule ur day? do you play 2 shifts of say 4 hours? what do you do for food, eat while grinding or just have big meals in between? if you start losing say 5 buyins in a short period, do you quit or just keep playing, and how do u keep ur cool, just go into fold to any bet mode, or just dont let it get to u?

oh yea check this out too

every time you get sucked out on, your money flows to me

Getting close to NL50 by edzwoo, November 15

I feel invincible on NL25 right now. I've been running a little over 6ptbb over the last week, and the last few days I've really been crushing it. At this rate, I'll be up to NL50 very soon.

improving... by Into Infinity, November 15

well i made the switch back from FTP to stars and yeah, FTP is rigged.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/mikefrom707/nov15.png

this is my 6max nl25 stats, maybe i'm just running hot, i wish i had an EV calc (that one that was posted up on main poker, i couldn't get it to work)

i'm running 20/15/3, which is a big improvement from last time which i was more like 25/14 or something. also learning to 3bet more often and bluff... also working on plugging my leaks, which apparently from the no-brainer threads i've made, are bet sizing and being nit (READ: http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/607067/NL25_WTF_is_this!_!_!_.html I FOLDED LOLOLOLOL)

anyways i'm pretty happy, even though i'm like 2 BIs from being rolled for NL50 i'm probably going to stay at NL25 until i play 20k hands. YES YES YES

p.s. i quit my job

OH yeah another thing i am constantly doing now is switching tables..my MTT ratio according to PT is around 6.3 but i played at 25 different tables. this was over a little more than 2 hours. so yeah i'm hunting for the fish and try to avoid pots against players with decent stats unless i have strength

So starting yesterday.. by Night2o1, November 15

I'm restructuring how I approach poker. Basically, unless I'm feeling like god himself or something I am going to be limiting myself to 1 hour sessions. I started yesterday and its allowed me to concentrate the whole time. Not letting myself dick around between hands browsing LP and fark is helping me play properly and make fewer spewy plays.

So the strategy goes -> play for an hour -> do something else -> play for an hour -> repeat until the day ends. This will let me study and do other shit too, so that's cool.

I took a 3BI shot at NL25. Ended up playing for an hour and giving up -2BI. I spewed in like one hand where I called down 3way, the rest I think I played fine and I just didn't pick anything up.

So I'm grinding up to $550 before my next shot. Unless I go do something tonight or have a downswing I should have that done tonight and so take another shot tomorrow.

Hopefully this new approach will help me concentrate and learn more while I play.

Been mixing up my nl10 between 10-12 tables of FR or 6 tables of 6max. It works fine when I'm concentrating instead of dicking around, so I'm pretty comfortable with these numbers so far.

It looks like I'm running comically well at FR, this is my month of FR vs 6max.

FR

(please let this continue LOL)
Yes, that's right, when I'm at FR its like I'm stamping pennies baby!
6max

I also might suck at 6max.

Sigh... FML by SugoGosu, November 15

usually, when I say I'm running bad, it's because I'm making horrible plays, or what not, however in the past 4k hands I have been running 8 buyins under expectation. I'm playing fine, and the hands i'm losing for bad beats, i'm favored to win 85% etc... its surprising i'm not tilted, but i really hope things turn around.

Become a party capitain by voodoouser, November 15

The french 'road safety' has created a new concept called 'party capitain' (capitain de soirée) to decrease the number of cars accident each saturdays night when people are leaving nightclubs to get back at home.
The party capitain is nominated before going to party and therefore must honour the one a only rule: alcohol is forbidden.

At first it seems to suck big time to be a party capitain BUT here is a video which explains all the hiddens benefits:

I think i'm going to give it a try

Another losing 20k hand day, 268k hands total!! by Joeingram1, November 15

This week hasn't been very fun, I've played like 100k hands and am basically breakeven at nl100. I just cant seem to put together a good session from beginning to end. Every one I have played I've been down 600+ at one point and up 600+ at one point. Usually I would book the win at my high point but because of the fact I HAVE to play that really isnt possible. I feel like my play is starting to slip also due to the fact I've played 12 hour+ everyday this month and I am running like shit recently. Normally during a breakeven stretch like this in the past I would just take a day or two off and go back home to my parents house and do something fun but am unable to do that now. I really feel like I need a day off but as I am already 11k hands off pace, I do not really want to be 31k hands off pace.

I did clear my 2k milestone bonus yesterday so ship another 2k to the bankroll. In my 23 year life I think the most money I've ever had at one point was like 2k and most of that was going for bills anyway so I'm not really sure what I am going to do with some of the money at the end of this month but I'm sure I will find a few nice things to buy myself. At the pace I am at though I'll be able to get and clear another 4k fpp bonus, a 1.5k fpp bonus, and I will hit my 3k milestone so thats 8.5k more just in fpps alone.

With my prop bets I stand to win 2150 in the bet I have with 4 others on who can play the most hands in November. My main bet is if I will play 600k hands in the month and I stand to get 6085 back if i can get there so there is another 8.2k. So if i can keep up my current pace I will basically make 16.7k for sure before and poker winnings are even added into the equation. For someone who was playing NL50 last month as his main game that is just fucking sick lol imo. If that isn't enough motivation for me to do it then I really do not know what is. Work had the next 16 days straight and enjoy myself in December! I have to just keep reminding myself that.

Here is my graph so far, you can see the point where I realized that I should nit it up because my mind would go crazy playing this much postflop over 600k hands as by my red line dropping drastically.

The NL25 pros didnt get the memo also, anytime you raise preflop and then check/call 2 streets then suddenly go nuts on the river its usually a bluff. These types of players arent smart enough to bet AQ for value in these spots

Best FPP value by Kilay, November 15

So I got back to playing on Pokerstars and been doing ok, didn't have great run yesterday but I am done whining over beats so let's not get over that.

The thing is, I want to boost my bankroll as fast as possible but there isn't rakeback at Pokerstars. Now you do get these FPP's and I don't really need them to buy anything at the moment and would rather use them to boost my bankroll to be able to play higher in a faster pace. Now I can buy the 50$ bonus but I've heard that the bonusses aren't amazing value and you should wait for the higher ones if you do want to take them up but I don't think waiting for the 285$ one (the next step) is going to be that good for me since I'd rather boost my bankroll a little more short-term (playing 25NL and 50NL at the moment and I really want to get to 100NL before the end of the year).

Now I was wondering, are there any other ways to easily turn your FPP's into money for your Pokerstars account since I could do that to give it a nice boost. I guess that if there are any better possibilities for around 10k-12k FPP's, they may even be better value based on $ per FPP ratio.

If anyone knows any good ways to use your FPP's to boost your bankroll on a relative short-term (for a 25NL / 50NL player) please let me know.

nl100aments by auffenpuffer, November 15

So last week I had this kind of a bad day at 200nl, as you can see from the picture (it misses about 2k profits I made earlier tho):

http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/1553/graph2pi0.jpg

I would have had roll for keeping to nl200 but I just can't handle the swings yet (after losing 1,5k I tilted badly for rest of the losses). I need a little more of a pokerplayer attitude to losing money. Anyways I cashed out two thirds of my roll and moved down to nl100. I also went back to partypoker because pacificpokers software is so hugely tilt inducing that I just can't stand it anymore. Besides party has almost - not quite tho - as soft games as pacific.

So heres graph for last week at party:

http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/5949/graphgm1.jpg

I feel that my 6max play is very solid now, at least solid enough to beat nl100. However a major problem is that I make too loose calldowns and play too paranoid in many spots. I need to stop assuming that all my opponents are thinking and aggressive players untill they prove not to be. -_-

So now I'll stick to 100nl untill I've got 22 buyins to nl200, then I'll take a shot there, hopefully soon ^_^

R.I.P by RaiZ, November 15

Hello lpers,
As i was about to go to tennis with a friend overexcited about hitting some hard balls, i just found out way more ppl than average in front of the club. They were all wearing in dark, at first i didn't realize it was for someone's memory untill a good friend of him told me that my training coach was the one to go to the heaven. I really couldn't believe it untill i saw many ex tennis' coaches and friends and so on. I was pretty shocked. I was hyped in the morning and suddendly i'm sad. Way to fuck it up in 1 day.
What can i say ? I've known him for over 10 years, was really nice, always smiling and always helping someone struggling.
The saddest part is that he was only 28 years old. I don't know anything except that we found him in his house with a heart's attack.
I also know his family, a very peaceful one, i don't know about you but i'm glad that i didn't see them before leaving the club because i'm pretty sure they'd be more sad than me and i couldn't support them at all. Later surelly.
God.

R.I.P Francois Kerembellec, my dearest coach and friend. I'll for sure never forget you for what you've done for me. Farewell.

new casino visit by remember87, November 15

Yesterday I went to the casino for the 5th time this year. I love it! The atmosphere is great and when you are a bit tired you can walk away, go get something to eat and just discuss everything with your friends! It also helps when you feel you are the captain of the table, pawning at everyone and getting respect with your plays

The big difference yesterday compared to the other visits was the action around the table. The blinds are 20/20 (SEK) and before the action was like utg: "160" - call-call-call-call. Yesterday it went a lot like: limp-limp-limp-limp all the way around to me in late position. I make it 200. Either I get 6 callers or 1 (depending mostly on the first limper). If I get one caller he would always check the flop, I CB and he folds. If I get several callers I just hope to hit a big hand and stack someone It was just so easy to play against them as they almost told me what they had.

One example: 1 person limps and I raise 76o to 160 in middle position. The SB calls and the limper too. Flop is QJ7r. SB donkbets halvpot and limper folds. This says a lot since he would never donkbet with a draw or a marginal hand, so he has AQ, KQ or QJ 99% of the time. So I call. Turn is 2 and he bets 400 into an almost 1100 pot. If he had QJ he would have bet like 700 so I am sure he has AQ/KQ and since he has over 4000 behind I call again. River is a 6, he bets 500 and I push after some hollywoodiing and he calls with KQ. Most of the players around the table thought it was a very bad play from my part but I think I played it well!

After almost 7h of play I finally ended up 14k (1800$) which is the second time now in 5 visits. So far I have won more then 1000SEK/hour in that casino Guess there will be more visits in the future!

NP I've been through this before, I've turned around -10 bi days into breakeven days, but i just kept fucking losing no matter what i did. didnt hit a draw, everyone had sets, just got raped. so. fucking. frustrating. this is one of the worst ive felt in my entire poker "career". ive put in a lot of hands this month (all 6 tabling), but nothing just fucking works. FUCK

here's my dumb ass month.

some hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/568325 - this guy is the reason why i got on in the first place. note its deep stack.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/568328 - i rarely get it in as a 70% favorite with 9 high, but either way i'm destined to lose anyway.

i also promise that if i crucial ship any of the ftops or big sunday tournaments this sunday for over 100k i won't complain ever again

[GM] oh my god no by Uptown, November 15

Bush has announced that he will not support any government aid to the fumbling motor company. GM needs "only" 25billion dollars, as compared to the 750billion+ that's going into the financial sector.

What does this mean? Well, GM has made it public that it only has cash to sustain itself through december, making the doomsday scenario of a GM collapse more likely than ever before. That means 3-3.5 million jobs affected: not just GM itself, but all the smaller companies that make the parts used by GM plants. As GM goes down, so do those suppliers, as GM is obviously a major major customer. As those smaller companies are affected, the other motor giants like Ford will also start to keel over. Consumer confidence digs a deeper hole than what we have now, and the market will respond appropriately.

Possible Market collapse of epic proportions here we come!!
