Made terrible plays (shoves, calls) when I knew it couldn't have been good.
Then I somehow started to play without the fear that had plagued me forever, and started to "flip off" (as Mez would say) fish who were clearly betting after seeing signs of weakness from me (no barrels, etc). If I was convinced they were weak, I'd raise it up strong, and holy shit it was such a goddamn blast finally giving them a big Fuck You and owning their souls.
Made literally no changes Preflop; I just started to be more agressive in spots where I've got air'ish hands but I'm pretty certain villains do as well. Can't get too carried away with this, but I'm definitely happy that my game is starting to realize the changes it desperately needed.
Definitely ran decent overall during that stretch too, which doesn't hurt!

I own my limit. And when I say own I mean 20BB pure pwnage destruction.
But what owns me is my tilting. And when I tilt I tilt hard, I start to believe in luck and it never comes, so I push it even harder.
I wiped out my winnings so many times it makes me sick.

But Today after 3-4 tilts I finally recognised when it was coming. I started posting all my lost hands where I hope the card with 30%EV simply must come because it didnt in so long, and when 2 hands like this occured in a row with a loss of $2 I simply left and did my measly job of magazine distribution. I came back and continued rampage, and now I finished yet again because the tiredness is coming.

This is all nice, but once again I first have to prove I can stay strong over the next long period of weak hands and bad beats that will almost certainly come as it did five times already after an upswing.
If I can handle it and at least stay flat over my next playday I will finally feel confident I can actually achieve something with poker.

Today I finally hit my new bankroll all-time high  December/January was bad pokermonths which resulted in a 50% decrease of my bankroll. Finally its up again!
I guess its a combination of me playing very well and running a bit hot too. I dont run that überwell, I loose a lot of coinflips etc, but instead I guess I hit my opponents worse half of their range in a lot of spots. If I dont loose a lot of money the next days it will be my best month ever!

| | NL2 Day3 - Kind Of by Gadget, February 25
Since my girlfriend visited me for the past 5 days I haven't been able to play in large quantities at a time. I have gotten about 4k hands in so far today however. Here is my overall stats and overall graph of my progress so far. I'm wondering if my stats look ok or not. Am I playing in the general area of the right percentage of hands or not.

I have found nl2 to be very easy. Im pretty sure I'm running around $10-$20 under EV. The rakeback should also be a huge bonus to my BR(Which is currently at $75). The internet at the hotel that I'm at is really bad so I was considering playing a couple of the Matrix Sit-n-Go's on Full Tilt. If anyone has any experience with these please reply. I would be playing the $2+.25. Thanks.

All that shit about playing NL50 HU and NL100 6max never came to fruition cause I didn't play anymore poker last night after finishing my blog and when I woke up this morning I did a coaching session where we played NL200. After the session was over I played a bit longer and killed a major donk and won about $500 off of him which completely erased my loses and brought me back to my BR peak of 7.4k. So I'll continue doing NL200.
Gotta love donks.

so, i've decided to start a blog. i've always enjoyed writing, and at this point in my life i need a motivational tool to curb boredrom; hopefully this blog does the trick.
here's a little history about my poker "career":
i play on stars as thrilliswear. in late 2008 i was a 50NL reg, occasionally playing 100 and 200NL when the games were good. during this 2-3 month period i was basically playing anything that looked fun or appealing, within reason. i enjoyed to challenge of playing higher-than-normal stakes and my interest in poker was rejuvenated. i was also dabbling in PLO, full-stacking 50PLO and shortstacking up to 400PLO. it was extremly fun and swingy, and my interest in the game was parlayed into a 1k+ win in an 11r PLO tourney. around mid-november i had spent probably around 3k+ of my new found wealth (lol) on clothes, nice dinners, and a shit ton of alcohol. i began drinking 3-6 beers daily, usually by myself, and usually while playing PLO. somehow this was profitable, and thusly i reccomend this strategy to all recreational players. after all of this frivolous spending and world-class poker play i was left with around 2k to my name, 1k of which was online. after a small stretch of laziness, my laptop was stolen, which led to 2 months of full-blown apathetic life-tilt. i used up the majority of my savings replacing my laptop and ds (also stolen), and proceeded to deplete my online roll. after a few brief chances at a return to relative robustoness (fail), i spent the next 2 months moping and bemoaning my situation. now it's almost march 2009, the month in which my 21st birthday falls, and i have $150 on stars and very little cash. i don't know what my plan is for poker, other than grind when i feel like it and try to improve.
i know that was really long, but once i started writing, it was very therapeutic and allowed me to reflect on some poor decisions i've made.
anyway, thanks for reading. i'll make another blog soon that's about my interests outside of poker, which will complete my introductions.

i'm hoping this bill goes through, even though i'm doubtful.
i can't get over the ignorance and the constant stating of information as though they were fact. that old lady is like "nobody doubts that if marijuana were legalized... more people would do drugs"
from my research, drug use appeared to go down in the long term in the netherlands after legalisation, so i'm not sure how everyone knows it will create more use.
i'm sick of politicians pretending that marijuana is harmful, and dodging the fact that a reasonable portion (perhaps even a majority) of productive citizens use it. if you did an anonymous poll that didn't include bible belt jesus freaks i'm guessing that well over 70% of the US is pro-legalization, or at the very least doesn't believe smoking marijuana should make you a criminal.
