So I recently switched over to 6max from FR and am currently playing nl25. I'm playing around 22/15 and I believe I am I a winning player.
However I often get confused in some situations where in FR, it would rarely happen.

My greatest concern is regarding how to play AK.
Some people think AK is a shoving hand PF, while others disagree.

I am unsure what to do when I 3bet AK OOP and then get 4bet.
How often do people 4bet with 1010, jj, QQ or even possibly AQ. Is it profitable to just shove? How often do you guys fold AK to a 4bet from an average aggressive player.

Any opinions would be nice.


What are some of your 3 bet ranges in position or OOP, 4 bet ranges?

As usual and expected my graph maintains its normal route. But I am not worried about it this time. All I want is some feedback. Anyone have any interesting opinions on why I can always manage to have huge heaters followed by a downswing and then break even? It is not a large sample size but it is just funny that this always happens. Any Ideas?

Hi,

I am going to the trip to Italy to catch up some last snow for this winter at the end of this month and I will certainly take my laptop with me. Thought I am not decided yet, if I want to play poker on this trip, I definitely want to ask you guys how is it working with poker in Italy, because I read that it is prohibited (wtf internet censorship). I assume that my poker software will work ok If I will have it already installed on my pc, but I am not sure if there are some other issues connected with it, if it is safe to play from Italy, or if they will make some sort of action againts you when someone will notice it (sounds pretty stupid I know, but I read that in Italy also cops are controling skiers and snowboarders on the hill of alcohol and awardings fines for that, so I am not sure about anythink here). Thank you for inputs.

From my poker world - I didnt play as much hand as I wanted to, but I was doing ok on NL50 for 5k hands. I had one really bad tilt session and it was caused only by my stupidity, when I refused to leave my tables after my 45 minutes limit for single session, because I had some good fishes on my tables and obv convinced myselft that I have to stack them all ... finally they stacked me 4x

I was reading some article before in a magazine about Obama reassuring the market and it had a line saying “you know thing are really bad when president is talking stock market.” After reading that article first thing comes to mind is that things are really bad when Chinese are worried about their money in US.
I think this is not only very interesting it’s also very scary. If foreign buyers of US debts get concerned about their money it means that US won’t be able to borrow in order to finance their government. With concerns growing about the future of US economy maybe we will see a "run on the FEDs" by its debtors. US having around 10 trillion, which is one year of GDP, in debts and around half of that to foreigners will have hard and maybe even impossible time to pay back the lenders. Which means their only option will be to "rev up their printings machines" and that will cause inflation or maybe even hyperinflation in US. The American government having big fixed costs such world’s biggest military and no money will be a very dangerous situation not only for US but for the whole world.
We saw Lehman and BearStern going broke. AIG is down the toilet. And most importantly GM which was the true flagship of US economy is going broke. So what makes people think that US government who is doing the same exact thing as those companies is immune? We used to have a saying that anyone takes a bribe other than the ones who are truly faithful to God, because they have really high prices. I believe in US and western economy faithfully, but their price is just getting too high.
I think the America will come out of this (hopefully) but a generation or two has to pay and work through their nose for the mess we are creating now. And the reason is that many American voters are just too dumb to realize you cannot let a loser not to lose. Let’s face it half the nation voted for McCain and Palin!

last year i deposited my final roll of about 2300 (actually last attempt at this game at poker in general) at pokerstars, thinking if nothing happens by june of 2008, im done. then by some stroke of luck, i improve like a madman and built it up to 11kplus by end of february, making really big folds and villains showing me hands like aa vs my folded kk pf etc - it was almost like magic, like i knew exactly what villains ranges were most of the time. of course i did run good and the fact that it was my last attempt really kept me disciplined and very very patient, i was playing with some of the midstakes regs now e.g. jlost88 and a lot of other guys playing 100nl, who at that time, i considered to be somewhat of an equal in terms of skill level and shit.

then i hit a terrible downswing by march, lost about 15bi (which was kind of terrible, it being my real first downswing without actually spewing or tilting much), then proceeded to withdraw like more than half of my roll (about 5k) to pay for some debts IRL and buy a nice lcd tv, a decent desktop (for games and fun) just to soothe the pain. i went on a surfing trip to relax and recollect my thoughts about what happend and how quickly i fucked up my roll, from 11k now back to 3500.

i went on to play cod4 and cs, sc a lot in march up to april, rarely playing at all above microstakes (25nl my favorite limit), and maybe won a couple hundred by april. then i got staked for 100nl by a friend (which lasted only for a week lol but i paid him 150 in profit) then proceeded to play may, hit supernova then hit a massive boomswitch at 100nl winning like 40bi in a weeks time. then june, august(got staked again but swhong bigtime but made money on concierge),sept oct happens and i continue to clear profits and concierge, maybe ave about 3k to 4k monthly up to nov, in which i win a tourney for 5kplus and get a 3k miltesone plus winnings by december.

what im really trying to tell here is that, after all the shwongs and shit, i won like 40k last year, and really really went through the most stressful and colorful year of my life, i dont think i handled it all well at all, and i made a promise to do a lot better this year, and i did, BUT, i feel this is an exact mirror of what happend so far last year. win about 6k jan and feb, so far win 1k in march, but really going through another similar downswing ( on the upside, i did buy a 19kusd car and not just a friggin lcd tv and desktop lol), i dont think i can handle another year of uncertainty and stress, i mightve improved a lot insofar as the game is concerned, but i feel that mentally, psychologically, i really havent - i might even have gotten a lot worse in those areas, which now i fear a lot. i really just wanted to blog about it, coz i feel kinda down and out, i dont want another 40k year, i want two or three times that! anything less ( or god forbid losing a lot), would really make me quit after this year, games are so tough after 2 years of playing, and i guess its def gonna get tougher and tougher. FML i need another vacation imo. any seasoned players who have made money out of poker have any advice on how to deal with this or what to do now? i realy am not going to withdraw anymore and i duno if i should just redeposit like my winnings so far (7kusd) and just grind it out while tightening up IRL. cashouts rape me a lot esp this one lol

March has been pretty annoying so far.Running like shit most of the time.Thanks to PokerGods there are still superidiots spewing money around so that it compenses it a bit I guess.
So the month started with my worst session of all times in which I ended up about -9 BI (too bad I never really use this stoploss rule I have lol).Since then I'm struggling to grind the moneyz back and hopefully I will be able to finish the month with some profit including the rakeback.Got BlueFirePoker acc so I'm gonna watch some of their videos these days and I hope they will help me improove my game(may be they will finally reveal the secret how to run good )

Background: I am probably the BIGGEST sucker out there when it comes to trying to find a good deal on an item and just LOVE sites like WOOT and Amazon (which I literally go to everyday).

So today Im doing my casual thing researching online and I find this Gem of a site called "Swoopo"
I am SOOOO tempted to try it out but dunno if its worth it. anyone ever won a bid from this?

Sources say this is almost basically a gambling site where you gamble that your the last bidder and get the item for super cheap at the expense of everyone else, LOL (sry, but this is just so hilarious to me, especially if i am the winner).




heres a description from wiki:

Customers buy bids in advance (costing $0.75 each in the US, or 50 pence in the UK). Most "auctions" begins at $0.15 or 8 pence, and increase by the same amount with each "bid". Some items, known as "penny auctions", only increase by $0.01 for each bid, but still cost contestants $0.75 per bid. Each bid also increases the auction's end time by 2 seconds. Although the contest winners often pay a low price, Swoopo earns money from the bids placed.[8]

For example, if an item in a "penny auction" retails for $1000 sells for $80, 8000 bids must have been placed. For these 8000 bids (at $0.75 each), Swoopo earns $6000.

In $0.15 auctions, Swoopo receives more than the retail price for the item from bidders as long as the final price is above 16.7% (one-sixth) of the retail price. Moving to FR. I have enough for 6m NL25 but I just feel confused all the time, so I'm moving to FR instead of moving to NL10 6m.
Overall..
*coolered a shitload
*and still managed +
*over 2k hands
*i feel more comfortable overall
*and less confused all the time

So I'll hopefully be here for a while and try 6m again when I have a roll that I am comfortable with.

Why the fuuuuuuuuck do i even waste my time on these?

Lawl...I made a sick amount of $ with FPP sats today...like $1100-1500, and used a few hundo of my own on the mtt circuit.

i missed two big draws in the mil....tilted off everything after that, kings kept losing to jacks, shit like that all day in the big tournaments...started today with around 1k online and 30k fpp, now I don't have an online roll now since I decided to play everything that had a prize pool of over 5k for the most part, and I really DO NOT want to redeposit.

i'm going to vegas on friday anyways, who gives a shit.

I put way to much pressure on myself today, I think I kinda cracked a tad at the end, but kept my compusure for like 85-92% of the day, just mtt's fucking suck.

started the day getting uber to close to 2 FT's and had them taken away from me...kinda unavoidable situations like ppl shoving 11-13x bb behind 3-4x bb shoves and i have AKhh otb and have them covered. Obv I call, knowing my range is atleast 58-65% vs there range (pp's and AT-AK/QK/QKss/KJss)

So I feel like jumpin off a cliff right now, but I'm sure that'll pass.

Just smoked a fat joint, gonna spend this week working on getting ready for vegas and playing some of the $55's and maybe a few $162's here n there.

I also found out when I play MTT's, if I play more than 4, I do not play efficiently, so, there u go, whenever im focusing on winning big tournies (entries of $11 or more (not sng's)), I'm just going to 4 table and mass note take and play my A+ game instead of roboting 30 tables and needing more luck.

Has anyone ever done a standing insurance agreement (LOL HELLMUTH, I know)? As in, has a player traded his all-in results with another player in return for his all-in EV minus a charge? It obviously would require some trust but with datamines etc wouldn't be any harder than any other deal that occurs between poker players (taking pieces, etc). I'm kind of curious if anyone has done this, what people think about it etc. The more I think about it, I'd be willing to give my results to someone for EV and a charge. Not asking for a deal though, just thoughts.

So tomorrow I start working out! As of 30 minutes ago I am no longer drinking/eating/consuming sugar and or eating any junk food.

Not sure what type of workouts I'm gonna do just yet but prob just gonna bulk up and eat lotsa clean protein and try to stay away from fatty protein intake cause i dont need to put any more weight on T_T.

I used to be very muscular/strong/in shape when I was in highschool and lifted every day/played baseball/basketball. I weigh about the same now as I did then (I weigh 182lbs and i weighed 180 when i graduated but i'm a far cry from the build i had back then.)

The hardest part of all of this is i dunno how i'm gonna handle not drinking. I've been drinking 5-6 days a week on avg i guess i'll try to cut that in half so 2-3 days a week only.

I'm gonna update every sunday after hsp i think with pics/stories/whatever and for now here are some nasty pics of how gross i look right now.

Aight after todays session I dont know what to do anymore. Started off running worse than horseshit as usual, and then I also started tilting, which was very very bad. Im in a constant little state of tilt at the moment, and dont seem to get anywhere. Nothing is working. I might move down to 002/005 to save the month, because my bankroll reached 600$, and I fucking hate it.

I'm so disappointed, it's ridicolous, I cant even win at NL25 anymore, and this limit is( or should be?) so fucking easy, it's really beyond my comprehension. I guess if this month will be a failure, and if I don't make any progress within the next 2-3 months, I'll stop with this son of a bitch game totally, and just give up.

I'll try using a loss stop from now on as well, should have implemented that waaaaaay earlier in my gaming habit already, because I always tend to have those monstersessions where I'm losing huge amounts of BI, and my winning sessions are usually smaller. I think I'll use around 2 BI loss stop from now on on NL25, and when I win I'll try to play longer sessions, maybe that will help.
Tomorrow I'll give my last try of NL25, if I lose a few BI's more, I'm down to 002/005 LOL.
