PokerStars is about to run The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP)and therefore for the next 2 week-ends The Sunday Millions will not be held. For this reason, there are no satellites to the Sunday Millions.
So I've decided to post this here, because its easier to link to my friends this way. Let's see if I can do a little better than I did in March.
Poker:
20k hands (I'll shoot a bit lower this time.)
Gold Star
+$2k in AC
stop being 'loose Bill' at the home game
nothing but NLHE cash for the whole month
Non-poker:
Be running 10 miles/week by the end of the month
Not spewing on anything unnecessary other than going out to eat/getting drunk (and running shoes)
Also, there are some bad April Fool's jokes on the internets.
cleared most of my bonus made some decent profits ( + 21BI in 18.5K hands including todays horror session)
and i simply hate the software/grapics + the fact that u cant play eariler than 5pm german time due to almost no traffic.
NO SNG no toruneys ...
Yea so up like 3k in Hold'em today. Down like twice that in omaha. Funniest pot was probably flopped topset allin 3way vs top 2 and mid set. Runner runner higher boat for the one who actually was deep. Started day out -2.5k, was up like 3k in the middle and then lost it down to -3k in the end. Overall I think my hold'em game is in quite good shape but omaha is worse. There are two huuuuge fishes who plays a lot on prima who I try to play against a lot, but I guess some of the regs has a decent edge on me. I'm playing worse when shit happends in omaha too. Dunno if it's classic "tilt" but more spending time cursing my life and random shit that doesn't bother me as much normaly instead of thinking and not really wanting to push my edges with draws in spot where I should in hold'em. In omaha I think I get a little worse pf which fucks me over.
New rule: No omaha unless one of those two fishes sits and I can get pos.
I'll try to do some serious owning in holdem the rest of the month.
Well, March was trash, I tilted more than usual, played worse, ran worse, everything worse....
except the last 2 weeks, basically I was down 50k 2 weeks into the month, and I managed to end the month up 50k, which is satisfying as I'm still on pace for my +1m year
I'm currently in vegas at the bellagio, going to play the 1500$ event in 30 minutes!
Hope april continues like thisby Critterer, April 01
Played another session yesterday after my "march" to add another $100 to my march total, now today started mixing in some nl50 tables and then towards end of session running on 12 nl50 tables.
Ran well and played pretty good too, made a couple of tripple barrel bluffs that worked and also some nice calls with a high/ mid pair for medium pots.
Had a great month in February and decided it was time for me to get myself a new laptop. I got a Dell for about $1100 CDN at the beginning of March and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it - NOW. When it first was shipped to me I took it outta the box and started getting things set up then I start getting bluescreens!!. WTF!!? Ok so I get a hold of tech support and all they can say is that the installation of windows seems to be corrupt. Yay. So I spend most of the day on the phone reinstalling windows and all the drivers. Fun stuff.
Ok so got that working. Then I installed PT3, which I just purchased as I was using PT2 up until then. Had some issues with that and it definitely took some time getting used to the software but that seems to be working fine now.
Finally I thought I had everything set up with Stars, Pt3 and TableNinja to start doing some serious 24table grinding but about an hour into every session my computer starts locking up, and each time it did, it seemed to have something to do with my sound card.
Needless to say I got mad, because this is a brand new computer and I shouldnt be having any performance issues. I have'nt even had the chance to start surfing any of those shady porn sites yet for crying out loud. I fought really hard with Dell tech support who couldnt figure out the problem and then I got their customer service dept. to agree to send me a new machine. That made me feel a bit better but I was actually just dreading having to set all this stuff up on a new machine yet again... sigh.
So the new machine was being built and scheduled to be shipped out to me very soon ( Dell agreed to allow me to return the first computer a few days after I received the second to give me time to switch stuff over).
Before it got here I solved the problem though!
While having these problems I kept telling myself that Pokerstars, PT3 and Tableninja are fairly cpu intensive but they shouldnt be affecting the soundcard. I would expect a video game to cause problems in this area but Stars is just beeps and stuff right?
Well I was wrong. First I started disabling the sound card altogether. Played a few sessions with no troubles what-so-ever. Ok cool, but now I have to reinstall the sound card everytime I want to do something on the computer that requires sound. Well this is way too annoying. So I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm not the dullest either, and I eventually thought of going into Stars' sound settings and turning off the sounds there. TaDa!!! No problems now. I really dont need the sound on for stars anyway, I'm stacking my tables and I actually like it better.
So why the hell would having the sound on in stars cause problems?
Consider all the sounds that are enabled in Stars like action requred, fold, check, bet, raise, chips moving into pot or to winner, dealing of cards... etc. All these .wav files are being processed constantly and I'm seeing somewhere between 12-1500 hands per hour... thats a lot of sounds being played simultaneously which explains the sound card problem.
So if anybody takes anything away from this it should be this. If your computer is lagging like old mule because you're running your poker client, software, and AHK scripts plus whatever other programs might be running then try turning off at least the useless sounds that you dont' need to hear and help things run a little smoother.
As a result of all of this, I really did'nt grind a whole lot. Because I didnt grinded less, I tilted more because I was like OMG I have to make up for lost time now that I got this shit working!
After some soul searching I finally turned things around and am back to owning.
So i decided to transfer some money to Absolute poker and play there, cos the
competition is suposed to be softer. Well my computer was so old that with HEM turned on
the friggen thing lag so much and tilted me plus i dunno what happened maybe i was on
some sort of new site tilt or whatnot but i lost 1.2k so fast its fkn unbelievable. http://spets1.googlepages.com/march09-2.JPG
But it was still the best month ever. Ive set many new records.
Ive had 2 days where i made over 1k which i never have done before.
I have won a pot sized larger than i have ever won ===> OVER 1 K!!!!!!!
The largest pot ive won before that was like 500 bucks. So im gussing that
record is going to stay for a while.
I followed this fish dude who has won few hands off me by playing like a monkey
into a higher stake game and CHI CHING! OVER 1 k POT OMG!!

I have also been able to beat NL200 pretty steadily.
Which as you can see in previous month has been giving me trouble.
SO all in all if you add up the numbers ive made just over 4k over ~27k hands.
This is a recrod as well as i have never won this much in one month.
Not too bad considering i only had 4k BR to start with in march.
I have also cashed out some money and now my BR is sitting at 6.7k
I put them on two separate pics cos i started to play on LAPtop once i got it.
I bought myself a laptop with FPPS and some extra added cash and it rocks!
I play on my laptop now and i can only play two tables at a time cos if i play more
the tables become too small. + Show Spoiler +
Also i take laptop to uni and since we have free wireless available i sometimes just
play poker at uni. Which is bad cos i should be studying and working on my thesis.
This is a whole another issue cos thesis sucks big big big big hairy balls and i hope i can pull
through and finish it.
March: played very little, ran very good :)by Joe, April 01
March was a lazy month for me pokerwise. I couldnt force myself to play any decent sessions. My routine of playing 2 sessions a day 2 hours each didnt work this month and I was quite happy when I managed to play 1.5 hour a day. Not really sure why it was so, probably more reasons. One of them probably was lack of decent games at my primary site and limit most of the time recently. Other one might be that I was grinding without a longer break several months in a row now, which prolly has its effect too.
Anyways, lady Luck was on my side this month (after she screwed me over in february) and that made up for the low volume of hands, which means I had a nice winning month: ended it up at +$33,456 in about 18k hands
Most of it is obviously from online cash games, but I also scored decently in a live tournament: made 5,400 euro for being 29/360 in Unibet Open Budapest.
Following is my HEM stats for march. Its not all hands because I played some on my laptop and at other sites, but it is like 85% hands. Its in euros.
And for you graph lovers I included a graph of my yearly progress. Its not complete, its only hands from microgaming from my desktop, but its like 80% total hands I guess. Again it is in euros.
As you can see I am running somewhat above allin-ev this year so far. I guess I am a bit below in the rest of the hands but not sure (well I am definately somewhat down from the rest of the hands). Also, I am somewhat behind the pace I set myself for this year, but still quite satisfied with the results so far.
Hi everyone,
So I am a uni student but 90% of my classes are recorded and available online so I only end up actually at the campus for around 3 hours/fortnight. 4 weeks into the semester I realise I have a ton of time on my hands and am spending most of it just being lazy watching movies, playing computer games, etc and playing like 10 hours of poker a week.
For April I have decided to stop being so lazy and start putting in some serious volume. I plan to play 100 hours for the month only playing 5 days a week (to give myself a break as well as time to do uni stuff) which works out to around 150k hands 24-tabling full ring. I will continue playing NL100 until I hit $5k roll (at 3k now) then move to NL200. Hoping to make $10k for the month. I'm also going to be spending all my FPPs on Sunday $215 Tickets, playing as many of these as I can.
I will be updating this blog at least five times a week with daily results.

Razz to riches... literallyby Adaptation, April 01
So after being away from this blog forever, i need to keep track of all my winnings.
Quick story short: I had some money on Party Poker, but used it mainly for partybets.com (which made me go sportsbusto).
Anyway quick story short, i win a razz freeroll on FTP(15$). I play Heads up turbo Razz SNG to go up to 60$, then some 2cents Full ring to go up to 120$, then SNG5$ Heads up NLHE up to 270$(this happened in about 2-3 months period)
Also made a fair amount of cash through Lo8,stud,razz,6max LHE(and blew way too much on Stud8). So starting now im gonna blog on my multigame action, post some hands. I know how to play every game (except freaking Stud8. If your a stud8 player, please help me out)
March.. interesting month imoby Night2o1, March 31
I am on my laptop since I'm on the road to vegas atm so no graphs.
March went like this:
-Win 1800 in the first week playing nl200
-Goto vegas for spring break, randomly decide to stay an extra week
-Profit 2-2.5k playing live poker in vegas, spend all of it on strippers and going out/eating (I literally came back with exactly as much money as I started give or take fifty bucks)
-Decide to give vegas a shot
-Come home for a week and lose 800 dollars online
-Leave Florida behind (for now?)
Here I am on the road ^_^ Currently at a hotel in LA so I can get a shower and stuff. I'm feeling pretty good about everything and I'm excited for April (April will basically decide whether I stay in vegas for a long time or not). Looking forward to meeting new people, making friendships with those I have met, and being away from my family and basically 'free' for the first time, since I wasn't in dorms or anything during college.
I missed my goals for March (basically every goal.. totally missed), but that's alright because of the radical events that unfolded during my extended spring break.
Goals for April:
200 hours of live poker
Become awesome at poker/focus on learning
Control baller-desires until I have baller monies
Minimize life expenses
4k profit or atleast a good reason to stay in vegas, poker-wise
I hope things turn out awesome I'll be in vegas Thursday evening unless there's some crazy thing that side tracks me 'til Friday. Mapquest says I have 21 hours of driving left.
GL everyone
Driving through Texas for pretty much the entire day tomorrow, driving straight through Dallas. Anyone in Dallas want to get a beer at like 11AM? LOL
