Dont tilt dont tilt dont tilt dooooooonnnnnntttt !by NewbSaibot, May 13
Threw some tokens at the FTP slot machine today. Man this game just puts my stomach in knots so bad. I literally get chills every time I go to sit down, even at NL2. It's not the money, it's just the shame of losing it. I'm an extremely competitive person. I dunno if these are coolers are what. I mean how can I put these donks at NL2 on the nuts every single time? Theres no way I cant expect these fish to have soooo much worse in every one of these scenario's. If this happened at NL200 or above, I'd be out a 24" flatscreen, a keyboard, and down at Lowe's buying some spackle for the new holes in the wall. I have issues.

Posting day to day hands and progress from now onby GfOrcebOnd, May 13
I'm running so bad right now it's so sick. Not only have i been runing bad today, but basically running bad for the past month. Maybe i'm biased b/c i'm basically judging myself. So i'm posting all hands over 10 dollars. I play 10-25. I can maybe look back on this another day with a clear head and say did i play well that day or did i really run that bad?
Wee, first update!!
Had two sessions since I started the blog, and weirdly enough I ran good in both of them, felt I got some good all ins I won, value from a few sets and such, felt really good.
Played 8 tables 20nl, around 2 hour each session. Here's a screen shot of the two sessions on pokertracker
I also saw a vod, and I'm going to start with this new trend, open up a wordpad, and each time they say something which sounds really important, cool or wise I will write it down and make a collection of them.
Yesterday a guy from bluefire told his protege something which sounded really important, sat talking about it for 5 minuts, and said it was probably the most important thing he would ever teach him.
It went something like this
- (golden rule in poker!!)
When you make a bet or a raise, you should know what you're gonna do against a raise, if you don't know, you shouldn't make that bet/raise.
Oh, not poker related, but found out my sister started blogging as well. Pretty cool, she just had a baby, then she started doing it.
Was really cute and I enjoyed reading through it, but maybe not much point posting it here, it being in Norwegian and all.
Oh well :-)
Off to make Fiskegrateng, a really tasty good Norwegian dish, but I bet none of you guys would like it
******** UPDATE ********
Still not gone to bed yet!!
Watched the 2nd part of Samouel's protege series on bluefire, think that series is rly good xD
Had a short one hour session, but kinda tired, not much tables running so just took 4 tables, but was mostly regulars, and some short stackers. Started off good with stacking someone, did a c bet, they called got straight, blabla all in. And I pushed all in vs the shortstackers here and there, think I lost most of the flips, and went break even for the session, which is fine!!
Did some reading, started at the top of that Master Sticky on low stakes!
#1 call the bet, if we make flush, need to get atleast one half bet or more to make our actions + EV
#2 if he 3 bet, it depends, if he has frequency over 15% we 4bet
on the turn er check call or check fold, re evalute on river
#3 call, if he checks the river and no flush got there, we shove, because he was on flush draw then
Tired now, think I might take a shower.
****** Oops, another UPDATE!! (that needs to be in caps I think) ****** (seen other people use these stars, so using them too)
Got three more "wise" words and sentence today as well:
- When you multi table, might be a good idea to just open a few tables first, then sit there for a littlewhile, then start adding more tables. Won't get as stressful, confusing, and you'll get more in the flow of things
- A lot of beginners / not so good people's mistakes comes from them being mentally lazy. If you just force yourself to actively think at the table, ur bottom line, and skill level will go up dramaticly!
- Most people don't realize the power of just trying to think stuff through more, push urself to do more, think more.
Ok, that's bout it, now I'm really going for a shower <3
Im not a very big fan of european song contest. Its a very long and boring night where its just a handful of songs thats worth listening to at all - and of them its like 10% thats good. This year one of those great songs has reached the contest:
I cant get the song out of my head! Even when Im rehearsing for a musical later this week, Im humming on it Im wondering if me being a violinist has anything to do with it?
Well i played a bit a couple months back and started to check things out here thanks to apollo introducing me to the site but due to rl stuff i jus took off my roll and thought nothing of it as i didnt do anything with my money except withdraw after losing some as i had to.
But now im back on would appreciate it if people would be kind enough to look over some of my hh and comment on what i do wrong/leaks etc and ty those who already have. So yesterday i put on $200 to start the grind and thought id see how i do as i kept seeing graphs of people and thinking sheesh lets do this . Had a 4 hour session earlier which was pretty neat so lets see if i can keep it going! http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/1263/2daygraph.png
A bit bumpy at times but as long as it follows the same general direction of upwards all is a gooden i guess lol.
So my main goal is to try and beat NL10 within a few weeks and basically become a better player as i do it and try to prepare for moving up to nl25, but i can't expect to manage it overnight ofcourse.
Peace =]
p.s i seem to be running around 18/15 is this too nitty?
Been running really, really bad since thursday. Its really really irritating me. I'm down a little under 3bi for the MONTH. This just can't continue D:
Also yesterday I am like 99% sure I finally profited $500 for the session, but lo and behold I come back and count my money and I have $20 more than before. I'm pretty sure I lost the money or something somehow. I definitely don't have it though.. sigh.
Well, whatever.. I really hope it turns around soon. I mean.. I know I don't play perfect but I'm pretty fucking sure I am very +EV at 2/5 for god's sake. Obv trying to improve my game as usual along the way..
I guess I have to adjust my month's goal to +5k, or maybe to "I hope I don't lose my whole bankroll".
From thursday-today I've played 50-60 hours. Probably going to put in 150-190 more hours (like 10-12 hours * every day left in the month w/ two days off) by the end of the month and fucking pray I can win more than 1 fucking bet when I flop a hand worth a shit.
Played through my most frustrating session so far: started with me up a buyin or two from beating down some donks when two of the worst players I've ever seen seat at other tables.
Player 1's strategy was to raise any hand preflop to pot no matter what, or call any pot open, and then donk bet 100% and sometimes pot the turn too. Very exploitable, naturally, but he went on a sick run in which he made the correct turn decision 20 to 30 times in a row. No joke. If I ever had flopped a hand, he would not pot the turn, and if I had floated his donk bet or had a more marginal hand, he would fire the turn. 20 to 30 times in a row he got it exactly right without a mistake. I don't know what the odds of that are but it's slim and frustrating. Ended up down 2.5 buyins or so to him before he quit.
Player 2's strategy consisted of shoving A5 preflop over my AK open and hitting his 5. Pretty gross but shit happens. Unfortunately he then won another flip and took another half buyin off by hitting everything in sight.
Somehow I'm only down 3.5 buyins on the session; must have won a bit off the other donks before these two guys sat. By far the most frustrating session I've ever played though: I swear player 1 must have been drunk or something but just couldn't make a mistake. I don't even want to look at FTP layout right now.
It's the middle of the night, I spent most of the night watching Starcraft vods, listening to Tastless rant on (like doing that).
Played 2 hours of poker in total today, watched 1 poker vod, rest of the day just been wasting time really.
I think I read somewhere that a lot of people get more creative, get ideas and think more diffrently in the middle of the night, something about the brain waves moves slower, but I have no idea what that means or if I actually read that somewhere or I'm making it up. Anyway, I thought, maybe perhaps I'll study harder, get better at poker, put in more hours if I have a blog, seems everyone have a blog lately, but I don't.
Well I just notice the blogs of the "famous" people, so at first I thought not much point of me making one, no one will read it, but then I thought, heh, that doesn't matter, if it makes me work harder, put in more hours, then that's a great thing!!
Hmm... I should look at blogs to check how they are suppose to look, maybe I'm doing this wrong.
Also wondering if I should put up a picture of me, not sure why, but people seem to do that too. (Crap, they also usually start with a life story, but I don't think I cba with that, not now anyway, maybe I won't keep updating the blog and I'll never write more than this first page anyway).
Anywho! I'm Marius, 28 from Norway, played games all my life, I was sick in sc first 3-4 years, then not so good after, was sick in Diablo first 2-3 years then stopped, and best dueller in WoW 3-4 years, that's bout it.
I'm shy of working, I avoid it, I get depressed thinking of it, makes me feel lazy embaressed and bad, but I really wanna make a living out of poker. I don't really care for the money, because everytime I fantasize bout having tons I just buy my dad a car, give some to my siblings and mom then go travelling.
Okay!!
So from now on, I have to watch atleast 1 poker vod a day, and atleast 1 session a day, and that's minimum, on average I'd like to have 1 vod a day and 6 hours of playing. But I don't know if that's stretching it a bit. I also want to make some good bankroll management system. I'm not 100% sure what, but I wanna be a bankroll nit, I hate playing scared, so something in the lines of:
Ok, don't wanna get delusional thinking I'll get much higher than that fast lol.
Atm I'm at 2000euro, so when I get 2500 I'll go to 50nl, and I'll keep being there till I fall under 2500 again then move down to 20nl, and up when im over, and keep repeating.
I was wondering if I could buy Left 4 Dead from someone? I don't know if you can sell the key code for it or not but if so I'd buy it from someone. Just name your price.
*NSFW* Jennifer Aniston Topless/Port Foward Help ?by TremendousGats, May 12

What the fuck @ that sng losing streak?by Oddeye, May 12
I tried to refrain myself from putting any blog related to losing huge amount of money in short amount of time. This was mostly 500$ sngs and a some 350$, I got sucked out on average one out of two sngs, losing the others most of the time. Giving me a total of -8k. Kinna puzzled about what I should do next, it's retarded because I so often had an edge on the guy I was playing, but they kept sucking out.
The Borgata is hosting their $500k guaranteed deepstack tourney again next week, and I'm planning on just going and playing it. I'm going to head home on friday so I can be sure to get registered and still play my last 2 FTOPS events this weekend. Because of the FTOPS ME being sunday I'm gonna go for starting on day 1b at the Borgata on monday.
I'm going to play in the event regardless, but if I can manage to hedge the buy in by selling some action then I might as well try and see what I can get. The buyin is $1650, so 5% would be $82.50 , 10% is 165 , and etc. I guess I'd sell up to 70% if I can somehow get that much. If you're interested then PM me or something and we can work it out. I don't really expect many (if any) people to buy anything, but I figure why not ask anyway? =]
P.S. - Last time they had this event over 900 people played and they crushed the guarantee, and first got $393k or something around there.
and here are my OPRs from since I actually started playing tourneys more often/seriously (from about the start of March I guess): FTP - The Inquisitor Stars - JoeDeertay
