May fucking blows by PanoRaMa, May 22

adfjksdf it's frustrating getting set up hand after hand, especially at high stakes. 5/10 just treats me like a used whore.

Douchebag fish are funny by JoeDeertay, May 22

So I was playing the 35k tonight on FTP, and at one point I was about 32/64 and told a friend of mine that I might win it again. So he started watching, and eventually I busted out bluffing an ~14BB stack with QTcc on a K63dd board into and AKo and busting in like 52nd (I raised pre and then shoved for like 2x pot on flop after getting flatted...probably not the best play but I didn't feeling like check folding or bet folding and being shortstacked, so I just went for it, and I thought it might work a lot anyway). I don't have the actual HH because I just closed the software after busting because I didn't really care.

So then I'm just like "well that sucked" and he doesn't say anything. Then my other friend (acdawg712 on LP) IMs me with a transscript of the convo they are having with each other, and neither of us could stop laughing at some of the comments this kid made:

EDIT: This wasn't at a table or anything, but was an AIM convo that we were having, and acdawg was copy-pasting what our mutual douchebag friend was saying about me.

acdawg712 (12:16:30 AM): Douchebag (12:15:31 AM): joe does shit sometimes
Douchebag (12:15:40 AM): that just make no sense
Douchebag (12:15:56 AM): and he tries disguising it with like elevated poker talk
Douchebag (12:16:02 AM): but the fact is is it's a shitty hand
Me (12:16:43 AM): lol
Me (12:16:58 AM): not my fault you dont understand what im fucking saying
Me (12:16:59 AM): moron
acdawg712 (12:17:02 AM): yea
acdawg712 (12:17:14 AM): Douchebag (12:16:35 AM): raising middle position with 10qs
Douchebag (12:16:53 AM): and getting flatcalled at the nittiest table i've ever seen
acdawg712 (12:17:18 AM): i am rofling
Me (12:17:27 AM): lol
acdawg712 (12:17:31 AM): Douchebag (12:17:04 AM): then proceeding to push first to act on the flop that has a king on it
Douchebag (12:17:07 AM): is a straight up bad play
Douchebag (12:17:12 AM): no matter how you look at it
acdawg712 (12:17:50 AM): so funny
acdawg712 (12:21:02 AM): Douchebag (12:20:02 AM): he's so arrogant but he's not that good lol
acdawg712 (12:22:46 AM): LMFAO
acdawg712 (12:22:48 AM): LOL
acdawg712 (12:22:53 AM): hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
acdawg712 (12:22:54 AM): Douchebag (12:22:24 AM): i feel like i'm better than him
acdawg712 (12:23:12 AM): too much for me
acdawg712 (12:24:16 AM): u still here lol
Me (12:24:33 AM): yeah
Me (12:24:35 AM): im talking to him
acdawg712 (12:26:38 AM): this is too funny
acdawg712 (12:27:08 AM): Douchebag (12:25:39 AM): yeah he's so bad
Douchebag (12:26:06 AM): he gets lost in numbers and ranges and shit
acdawg712 (12:27:11 AM): too funny
acdawg712 (12:27:16 AM): i wouldn't even say anything to him
Me (12:27:17 AM): lmfao
acdawg712 (12:27:19 AM): wouldn't no where to begin
Me (12:27:22 AM): im not confronting him
Me (12:27:28 AM): just answering his questions
Me (12:28:08 AM): i mean
Me (12:28:19 AM): he is the one who cant win freerolls for christs fucking sake
acdawg712 (12:29:09 AM): hahahahah
acdawg712 (12:29:12 AM): o
acdawg712 (12:29:18 AM): i missed one funny thing
acdawg712 (12:29:35 AM): Douchebag (12:22:38 AM): i don't really play that much and i don't know the ins and outs of the game
Douchebag (12:22:54 AM): but he uses the ins and outs to mask the fact that he doesn't really know what he's doing
Douchebag (12:23:13 AM): i feel like if you sat me and him down with like 7 other players
Douchebag (12:23:21 AM): in a low blind cash game
Douchebag (12:23:31 AM): i'd definitely do much better than him
acdawg712 (12:29:47 AM): yes if it was 1c/2c
Me (12:29:48 AM): lmfao.....
acdawg712 (12:29:49 AM): prolly
acdawg712 (12:29:57 AM): since you and i would j ust shove every ahdn for the fuck of it

We had a good laugh over all that shit, especially since we know the results this kid has had in poker. He broke his fucking computer screen last night after punching it when he got sucked out in the limit holdem round of the HORSE Ferguson on FTP. He also complains EVERY NIGHT about how bad he runs in the freerolls and can never win anything in any of them...and now he is trying to say I have no idea what I'm doing after making about a 10k or so overall profit since around October. LMFAO

Anyway, GL all
-Joe

(EPIC)Stoploss... by player999, May 21

... is for the weak ones!! NL25 today:

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/1748/graphu.png

I out-epic-ed yesterday's sesion(see previous blog post).
This one started pretty standardly, ppl flatting my 4bets and hitting sets all the time and me dropping bis
+ Show Spoiler +

.

Then, on this one table there was this fish that was just stacking off with anything, Ax pf was the nuts for him and any pair post flop too. But he was running like god and he started to get really deep, and he busted me for several bis, to the point i was 20bi down for the session. Some hands:

maybe spew but his range goes waaay beyond flushes here:

From this point i was just trying to double up so i could get deeper and start winning teh big potz, i noticed how he liked to go broke with A2-A8, so i gambled:

A typical day at NL10 by Ihaf, May 21

I'm never going to get out of NL10 at this rate. I always win big or lose big in a session. (150bb+ win or -150bb loss).

Going to make another blog post to post up my stats and get some help identifying leaks.

After winning almost 300bbs in the first 200 hands:
Free money!
+ Show Spoiler +

+ Show Spoiler +

+ Show Spoiler +

I proceed to lose every pot greater medium/large pot in the last 800 hands.

Examples:
Dominated hands never seem to be dominated.
+ Show Spoiler +

Pot control
+ Show Spoiler +

Suckout
+ Show Spoiler +

Saved money
+ Show Spoiler +

100/20/0.5 60 hands. Loose passive station. Don't think I'm good.
+ Show Spoiler +

Loose passive station. I need to be able to fold sets, This line screams I have a J.
+ Show Spoiler +

Yelled FML in the lab (every stared at me), when I saw the J on the river.
+ Show Spoiler +

Loose passive station. When he 4bets I'm certain he had a 2 or 33. I think I run into worse kickers enough times here to make my 5bet shove profitable.
+ Show Spoiler +

TAG 14/11/3 30 hands. Plays standard, multiple tables. I almost never 4bet fold but it was his first 3bet and the fast 5bet shove I'm at best chopping.
+ Show Spoiler +

Conclusion:
-I run bad against shorties.
-I run like shit in flips.
-Dominated hands are never dominated.
-Stations run like god against me.

Is it normal to be running -5bi (+5bi ev) over 30k hands at NL10?

Poker as a Revenue Source for Governments by niky752, May 21

Even in the 21st century, many shortsighted governments continue anti-gaming (and thus anti-poker) policies for no discernable reason other than habit, and lump poker in with ‘house’ games like roulette. Their knee-jerk arguments hearken back to a day when going and having a flutter was thought to be a one-way ticket to hell.
Today, folks know this isn’t the case, but government policies haven’t followed suit. In the UK, USA and many capitals throughout Europe, the people’s representatives haven’t realised that poker is not only an enjoyable and largely harmless activity, but it can also fill government coffers as well. In a classic case of governments overstepping their bounds, they miss out on billions of dollars – in return for which they get to tell grown, free-thinking adults what they can and can’t do with their hard-earned money.
While the UK and USA are acting like their money will never run out, at least one country is starting to get smart: Bulgaria. Officials from that nation recently gathered to brainstorm how Bulgaria can incorporate gaming into its tourism strategy, and how to find a ‘middle ground’ on online gaming.
“Gambling tourism is a resource Bulgaria has not exploited. A national gambling development programme needs to be drawn up as part of the tourism industry,” said Deputy Finance Minister Atanas Kunchev. It’s not rocket science – you promote what you have, whether it’s climate, beaches, culture or gaming. With a possible recession looming and many governments drowning in red ink, as they say in poker: “Don’t leave money on the table.”
Around the felt, that means don’t miss bets that you would have won. In government, it means don’t miss out on revenue that you could easily have had. And in the UK, that should mean giving people what they want. You don’t put a ridiculous 15 percent tax on poker websites, because no one will locate here. Thus, you get zip. A light tax would have brought job-creating websites here to be regulated and taxed. The UIGEA in the U.S. is the same type of mistake. Despite running a huge deficit, the Bush Administration is fighting online gaming in a big way.
Nothing these governments did stopped people from gaming on the Internet – all they did was miss out on billions in tax revenue that could have been used for the common good. And you can add the recent nixing of the ‘super casino’ to this list of mistakes.
There are fewer and fewer well-paying jobs around these days. We don’t need governments to protect us morally. We can do that ourselves, thank you. What we need governments to do is help protect us financially. And you don’t do that by leaving money on the table.
It’s all about Poker

Bluffing frequency by Achoo, May 21

Any insight on what should be my bluff frequency at nl50? So far im trying to bluff 30% of the time in what i think are good spots (trying to bluff decent players with what i think is a good board to do it) but it seems like im bleeding money ... Really want to add it to my game but unfortunatly it looks like u cant bluff a nl50 player no matter how much u raise ? Maybe i should stick to 5% or less to make it slightly profitable at this limit ? Tried it for 3 days now and i think ive lost 3-4 bis so far, think im gonna stop because the players at nl50 FR are either way too tight and show up with solid hands OR too careless and stationy to fold anything... Im a little bit confused.

Anyways, Almost rebuilded my BR for nl100 from 40$ that was left on my Ps account, hopefully will take agressive shots at nl 100 very soon. Other than that life is great folks, good luck at the tables.

Achoo AKA Sheitan.

NL50 by NeillyJQ, May 21

Full Ring Sucks.

First 100k hands after learning how to use HUD correctly (I used it incorrectly for years and didn't truly understand how to play hands vs different stats til moving to Vegas and learning from rS.eVaDe over the course of a week or so like a month ago. Thanks Adolpho :-)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/5516c8b615b72f0fe92df8527ff8e3b7.jpg

Or maybe its not the FR that sucks, but I at the FR that sucks. :-)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/e36c943fb0bca4c7eba564b48a31b1e4.jpg

So after comin to vegas, I played nit ring and MTT for a month or so, b4 realizing I'm a 6 max and HU player no matter what, and pretty decent at MTTs here and there, but have a LONG, LONG way to go to be one of the best MTT players, and a LONG way to go to make it to the top of the cash game ladder as well.

GL LP,
Ryan

Laughing at nitty regulars makes them play back at me and try some funny stuff a lot+many of them become tilted.
