but still more losing, whatever. down 6k at 5/10 in 600 hands, jesus christ. going to grind this shit out at 1/2 and 2/4. hope to report back at the end of the month at even and up in rakeback moneys!
oh, i need to xfer ~ 1.1k from FTP=>Stars known regs only plz. been playing
~ 7-8k hands a day. 12 tabling nl25. I've definitely gotten back into the groove of poker and am owning these people pretty hard.
i've definitely fixed a lot of spews and tilts in my game. on a 3 day good streak. today was a pretty great day for me imo.
since everyone wanted a pic, here is a pic of me getting devastated and tilting. I've finally solidified a winning 28/24/9 strategy that i'm going to stick with. The main leak i've been having recently was 4-bet bluffing and at nl25, that shit just doesn't work too well unless i pick my spots right. I've definitely perfected it for this limit and so i'm going to move to the next limit... i'm no longer spewing like a tard. although ill prob. have to start playing like 24/20/9 or something like that at nl50..
Too tired to write much right now. But today I got a lot of grind in and I felt really happy about my game. I also found a nice fish at NL400 but it didnt end up very well unfortunally.
Guess I am up to pace if I want to make it to Vegas. Goal is set for 10BI at NL200 and then I go. Results so far:
Played some 25nl today, went pretty well. Actually focused a bit which is nice. Anyway on to more important stuff aka life. So I posed my resume on career builder and a few other sites, however, no luck so far. I've been offered 5 sales positions, but I'd rather continue with the path I'm taking rather then selling insurance. I'm just not interested in a sales position at the moment. On the upside I should be getting a call in a month or two about an underwriting position at a really good company, so hopefully that works out. Anyway golf, camping, hanging with the girlfriend. This should be a good summer.
so got my free $50 @ full tiltby jasper5408, June 08
so i did the free promotion, i thought why not give it a go, and after waiting like 5 days i pretty much gave up on it since there was no response. anyway silently secretly, lp sent me my 50 which was a pleasant surprise.
after grinding 10 ---> 500 so many times, starting with 50 seems like a god send. anyway things feel different, i feel 5x smarter, experienced, and much more ready to successfully grind my way up.
still want 150-400 in pstars. trying to get my paypal verified so i can avoid the 5% bogus fee they require. that should be ready by tomorrow.
also i made a major decision to let go of my electrical engineering minor and just graduate next semester. i came from a pretty competitive high school and am managing to graduate college pretty early by about 3 semesters, but college doesn't interest me anymore, and i'm tired of being such a pos being a bitch complaining about how i don't know what i want to study. i don't mind graduating with my econ degree and coming back to school later.
i think i'll go to korea for a year and teach english/get paid try to go meet nick plott and co host with him 8^D], maybe try out this poker thing for about 2 years. if i can't make at least 70K i'll probably just pass it up for good and get a job/back to school.
anyway this leads me to another problem....i was gonna get the palm pre but i think you need like a 2 year commitment with them...i desperately want the palm pre but i feel like if i run away to korea for a year my palm pre is pretty useless and so is my contract with them...but the palm pre is so....preeeetyful. whhat to doooo??
never been this steaming and frustrated. $2500 6mby I_run_godlike, June 08
So I just got knocked out of the 6max tournament in lvl 2. I have no regrets on all my plays, to be honest, I think I played all my hands in an optimal manner.
Table was really crazy, guy 2 to my right is opening at least 65% if not 80% of the hands preflop. Devil Fish is directly to my left who's playing like a spewtard as well. Seat 3 is terribad but not as spewy-tardish as seat 5 and seat 2 (devil fish). Seat 4 is a guy who lost his left palm and plays pretty aggro and somewhat spewy as well.
I have no clue why these players 3bet every hand like they are supposed to in a 6max tournament. As a nl400/600 6m cash grinder, I have seen my fair share of 3bet pots in the last 500k hands, but I swear to god that I've never seen so many 3bet pots in a 2 hr frame. These people have no clue what they are doing, they treat every utg/utg1/co/btn open as steal therefore they HAVE TO 3bet to protect their blind!
I hate to complain about how bad I run, I used to complain a lot but now I have improved as a professional player and my mentality to the game and the variance so I have cut down my whining a lot. However, since there are many people have piece of me, I think they have right to know what had happened in every tournament I was in.
Here we go.
Hand that I lost huge chunk of my stack:
50/100, eff. stack 5200.
btn (kid who opens 65% of his hands and have shown tendency of not liking to fold to 3bet and likes to float) opens to 225, folded to me in bb and I looked down AQo, I decided to 3bet to 700 for value. Btn called.
Flop (1450) Qh 9d 9s
I cbet 800 and btn floats
Turn (3050) 4s
I decided to let him blow him off his float and make my hand look like AK or JJ/TT so I checked.
He, on the other hand, didn't disappoint me by betting 1100 into 3050 pot, I c/c'd.
River (5250) 4d
I checked, spewtard tanked for a sec before shipping in the rest of his 2600ish chips and I snapped.
He turned over for J9o for the flopped trips and I was down to 1800 with my AQ on Q99 board in a 3bet pot. I have absolutely no regret with my line as I think this is definitely the most optimal line at the moment against a guy who doesn't like to fold.
Few hands later (after that kid busted Devil Fish with AA on T high board), he opened utg to 225 again, I looked down A9cc and decided to ship it in against his range. I got snapped by his KK and flopped KQc8c, I got there on the turn w/ 5c and doubled up my short stack to 3750. He was saying something like..omg....and I have no clue why he's complaining given the fact that he runs hotter than the sun already.
few hands later (3800 eff stack), utg (guy who lost his left palm) opened to 300, folded to me in sb w/ KJdd, i decided to flat and bb called.
Flop (900) Kc Tc Jc
I checked, bb checked, utg bets 1k and I crai and he made a crying call and flipped KTss, sweet, finally i can get back on track w/ another double up.
Not so much as turn brought 8c and river 9c for the flush on the board and we chopped the pot where I got my money in WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY good. like what? 92% equity?!
At that point, I already knew that this tournament is not gonna be a very easy/happy ride for me.
Just few hands later, I picked up KQo otb and everyone folded back to me. I made a min raise to 225 and bb (who obv has no clue what he's doing but 3bets because everyone's doing it) made a fairly large 3bet to 800. I had a read on him and know for fact that his bet size indicated a very weak hand that he didn't want a call. I made a committing 4bet to 1650 (left myself about 2200) and he jammed and I snapped.
BB turned over 47o and I was very happy w/ my read and call. Little did I know that the board ran out J76JA and my KQo couldn't hold up. End of the day, left the table with steam on my head, trying to figure out how the F those terribad idiots who have no clue how the game works and what they're doing can run so good.
Ive been doing pretty well in the cash game this past weekend and will come back and update more later tonight or tomorrow after I get back to LA.
A little teaser: I got my money in with AKo at Bellagio's 5/10 preflop against AA and got a runner runner flush for 70bb deep pot :-)
What's the highest percent favorite a "drawing" hand can be at any point in the hand.
I don't know what the answer is, I'm just curious and wanna see what people can come up with. Maybe some kind of wrap + flush draw on the flop, or maybe a double open-end straight flush draw + 4 overs on the turn. Opponent probably having something like 2233.
Graph for thurs-saturday 5-6 tabling. Didnt get to play today im so butthurt had to go to church as soon as i woke up at 11am then work 2-9pm shift http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/3554/funweekend100nl.png
Then i played on ultimatebet tryn to hit bb jp at 50nl for 1k hands before going to sleep + Show Spoiler +
June starts with an upswing by MasterofLaw, June 08
Life and live-pokerwise. My live poker have been pretty solid and I have made a pretty nice profit on the last 3sessions, like 500bb or something. I make pretty good reads and feel a lot of confidence in my game. Have not played that much online in june except for yesterday where I lost 5bi:s. Got a bit tilted after making some profit by some good games and then lost 250bb x 2 on two hands. J9 vs JJ on J9869 and 55 vs 77 on 57262.
Otherwise there have been a lot of partying. Thursday-Saturday. Have had two friends staying at my place, Remember87 and Jocke. Jockes little brother have also hanged out with us this weekend. The partying contained all necessary parts for being great such, poker, a lot of alcohol, football, nice girls and nice clubs.
This week I hope I don't will drown in work but instead can get the opportunity to grind a lot togheter with R87 at my place.
