Today's session was a lot different. I ran into stationy/passive tables and I couldn't win through my red line anymore (although it was at 0 thanks to successfully 4bet bluffing regs twice)

met the sickest calling station on pstars, and all it took was one suckout to throw me off my game. he was such a sick calling station, i mean i could honestly value bet A high in 3-bet pots. i pretty much 3 bet all hands against him for value, and we ended up 4 tabling.
all in all,
he coolered me alot, A flush vs K flush twice (and one was a bdoor flush draw)
set/set once
called me down with A high but his Q kicker was better than my A high J kicker
it was lots of fun 3 betting wide ranges, but it kinda sucked because i still feel like i shoulda won more monies. all in all i managed to about break even due to some thin v-betting from overpairs/top pairs/A-high's
anyway i felt like i learned a shitload today, and i've never thought so much about board texture as deeply as i thought today.
Been a few weeks since I've posted an update, thought I would do it sooner, but I always feel weird posting a blog after a heater or a bunch of coolers because it'll either come off so braggy or whiny that there is no point, so I prefer to post after variance has taken me a little both ways. Thus, I bring you my NL50 graph.
Not too many hands yet, but that should change this month. I really felt like I was crushing it and then I had that downswing where I was doing everything the same, but getting crushed over and over. I'm fairly certain that it was 9/10 bad luck and 1/10 bad play, but I still want to eliminate that bad play so my good runs can be that much better. I've been doing pretty well since then, everything going fairly standardly.
I'm starting to flat a lot less pf (opting to fold instead) and opening some more marginal holdings that before I would have folded, I'm also 3betting a little bit more often in order to prepare my game for the higher levels. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter down here, but I hope to move up fairly quickly and I think the best way to facilitate that is to gear my game toward the level a couple higher than I'm at, I may be able to crush these stakes playing extremely straightforwardly, but when I move up I don't want to be the dumb nit reg who everyone can read perfectly, I want to be the guy that the other regs actively avoid sitting with, or at least to my right.
In nonpoker news I was up at my lakehouse in Wisconsin for the fourth, water skiing successfully for the first time was definitely the highlight. Had a great time, my aunt and uncle always have a party and there was plenty of beer, brats and burgers to go around, I think like 40 other people showed up plus my cousins and brother who were there. It was really crowded with 3 cousins and one of their friends, all 4 of them brought their SO, I didn't because I don't have one anymore, not quite as sad as it sounds. My brother was there with me though, so we were the fifth couple, and easily would have won chicken fights.
I've been working out most of the summer so far but really slacked off the last few weeks, so I'm going to hit July even harder than the second half of may/first half of June and try to hit new highs on the maxes and new lows on the scales. I've got a pretty rigorous routine planned, but I'll be doing most of it with my brother and working out is so much easier with a partner.
I also plan on playing 40k hands this month, I have been thinking about the idea of adding 2 tables to make it 6, but I only really think about it when I go for a while without any cards to play or I'm getting coolered KKvAA and I want to do that to someone else sooner, so it's probably unnecessary. I don't think I'll add tables until I either become a regular grinder at some limit because I'm cashing out somewhat often or I buy myself a setup with a nice big monitor which would have to include a desktop since I currently play on a laptop and my old desktop is pretty worthless for everything, that and I gave my monitor to my brother when I got a laptop. I don't think that will be anytime soon (eyes on this Christmas maybe).
Anyway, had a really fun fourth, I'm really looking forward to pushing myself both in and out of poker this July, may your cards be many and your reads be mighty.
does anyone know if you can convert bodog hands?
or am i just illiterate?
i have tried multiple times and failed thought maybe someone else had advice
anyways poker has been one joyous swinging monkey this week
did win a tourney however

Nick
I was about to post I felt so good about my whole journey so far at NL400. But the games are just so swingy at NL400
I have been staying at Dustylove for a couple of days now and we managed to put in a lot of grind to say the least. I beat a new record by playing over 6k hands in one day! So so far have I played more then 10k hands this month! I guess I will beat all my records for hands played this month.
However as far as results goes I am not very happy. I have played NL400 the whole month and it really feels that the games are tougher. I started of very quickly and won 5BI. Then the variance decided to go nuts (plus I played bad in some pots) so I lost 10BI in like 1k hands.
When I came back to the tables I felt I really had an edge over most of the players (not the toughest regulars but a lot of them) and I think I played well. I went up the 10BI I lost and there I was 15 min ago. But instead of quiting (as I planned to) I played a couple of more hands and lost like 7BI in no time (some coolers, some bad beats and some flips - most against really really bad fish which hurts even more).
So excluded RB etc I guess I´m down a bit more then 2BI which is a pretty bad result for so much grind.
What have I learned?
A lot of small stuff that will improve my game a lot. Most important though is that before, I saw most of the players as "good", playing a bit too careful against them as a saw them as better then me. After some input from Dusty however I see a lot of faults in most of them so now I view a lot of players as "bad". I just need to improve my game so I can take advantage of those errors!
Can I beat NL400?
I have tried once or twice before and failed, and variance is tuff, but I actually think I can beat NL400! If I can run good/not bad for a day or two, so I can get a role that can handle the swings, I am pretty shure I can pretty soon become a NL400 reg.
I'm looking for someone with some graphics skills to design me one animated 468x60 and 100X100 banner for http://www.pokermuscle.com. I dont know what happend but the game was so damn easy plenty of fish and free money. Two days ago start the game with 400$ everybody at the table had around 300 to 500.First hand i pick JQ in the bb btn reise to 20$(the game is 2/5)sb calls and i call to flop:A K 10 Nutsssss sb check i check btn makes it to 50$ i reise to 185$ he shoves i snap called turn x river x i shove my str8 and win obv,few hands later i pick up 7c8c in the btn everybody limp i reise to 40$ 5 callers flop 7 9c jc Nutsss againthe sb reise to 100$ 2 callers i rereise to 500 a limper decide to goo all in i call .he shows q 10 ,turn 10 river x win the pot.Few hands later i make it to 20 with AK one guy make it to 50 ,6 callers i snaped shoved was pretty happy to take the pot there but the i had one caller with Ad7d flop 2d 3d 5 i was pretty sure that i willl losee but the dealer was nice to turn a 6 and 2 and win another pot.All was good i was sitting in front with like 3k card dead for like 2 hours then i pick up KK reise 20 some guy rereise to 50 i make it to 175 he shoves i called he shows QQ i win another pot.
And here comes the fun part in the last hand of the night we where 4 ppl on the table and we decide to put extra 25$ in the pot before the hand,i really didnt care about the pot i was close to sleep and wanted to go home so i got dealt AA i'm in the btn and i just shove saying to everyone just fold i have AA let me have it.But this hugeeeeeeeeeee fish that just rebought in the last hand for 2k more was thinking for like 5 min what to do i was just talking that only AA can call me and wtf is he doing but he decide to call me with KQ wtf wtf wtf ok let go free money flop 10 7c Kc turn Jc(i dont have the Ac)he has Qc river Ac.I'm fucking shocked that 60% of my winnings are gone and this idiot fish decide to gable with kq in the last hand of the night .i just could belive it but i congrt for the nice pot and the nice call and invite him to come again to play.

I think i need to move sitesby CrownRoyal, July 05

+46 BI NL100/ Making -ev poker decisions w/ picsby Joeingram1, July 05
Lets get the poker update done here. Currently am ridiculously crushing NL100 this month, just finished up a 998 hand +811 session. Bringing my monthly total so far to +$4,600
Still have been putting in 3 short sessions each day with amazing results so far. I have talked with a few friends and we came up with some reasons why I have been able to be so effective doing this but they said I probably should not post them anywhere incase other nl100 pros read anything I write. I am hoping to hit my 10k goal and win my prop bets within the next week and with the pace that I am on I feel like it shouldn't be a problem at all.
The last few months I have really been trying to stay 100% focused on playing poker/ getting better/ winning money/ etc etc. Me and a good friend of mine have been talking about moving out to the San Diego area and crush pokers out there/get away and meet some new people. This month will be a huge deciding factor on if and when things happen and I wanted to not let anything get in the way. So of course I decide to go out with a bunch of family to a town fest in this area and end up meeting someone. Then instead of spending later that night playing poker/ winning my prop bet, I decide to talk to her on the phone all night and not go to sleep until early AM therefore fucking up my schedule for the next day. Then yesterday on the 4th I played a morning session and a little afternoon session and then decide to go hang out with her the rest of the night till like 4AM. So much for staying focused.
I suppose things like this make your overall life more +ev but it is very very -ev to my overall poker. It gets me very distracted and I lose focus on playing/my goals. I've been trying to find some sort of balance with an obsession over a girl/girls and playing poker/studying poker all the time but have been unsuccessful so far in this. Maybe someone has some tips how to better manage this. Luckily I am very very far ahead on my prop bet so I'm not worried about it that much but am worried about how it could potentially affect me in the future as my big downswing last month was directly coorlated with issues with some hoe/girl. (as my other 2 downswings in the past have been as well)
I told her parents that I played online poker and I think told them my screen name so if they decide to google me and find this then hello to them. Now for some pics of girl I am enamored with, she is 18 iirc
I am sure that it is ground breaking information but it really is true. I started Friday with my profits up about $320. I sat at some tables that guys were card racks, and I tilted. Thank goodness I am over rolled for the level. I ended the day down about 8 buy ins.
It made me sick, but like the 6 Million Dollar Man we can rebuild it, we can make it bigger, stronger and better able to push small stacks around. I have won back 3 or 4 buy ins, but I hate to have to reboot.
I can whine about the card rack and how I lost with AK to 64 or KK to A3 etc, but the truth is if I were cold sober I am sure I would have handled things much differently.
$10 NL still is just $10 NL and 90% of the players suck.
Hand Update, I have only played 20,000 hands. I have a long way to go.
The wife and kids leave today for almost 3 weeks I plan to up the number of hands I play by 10 fold. I am going to try to be at 50,000 hands played by the time they return. I also plan to play live. I think I will be pokered out by the time they get back.
Will prolly be able to put in some solid hours this month though, really looking forward to it actually, as it will be the first time since March where I will potentially be able to devote myself to poker again. Along those lines, I'm about 90% certain I'll be in touch with k2o4 about coaching once he is available again (since he's left for vegas afaik). K2o4 himself would probably agree that there are far superior coaches out there, but the ROI will be pretty massive for me since the rate is low and he'll be able to provide the kind of insight I'm after to settle down into nl100 again.
So i'm going to Orlando to Disney World with my gf and her family (their paying for the trip) for 1 week on July 26th. I've never been but i've heard awesome things from people that have been there. For those ppl that went, any advice on the best rides? Were also going to universal studious and all the other theme parks as well.
