Two days off… One day On +1156.00 dollars by Masaki, August 16

Full Blog @ http://tooyoungtogamble.com

Took two days off because I had the lady over for two nights. Went canoe riding that was fun, and a lot of pool time out in the sun. It was good to get out and relax. My days consisted of:

Thrusday night: Her getting lost on her way to Hamilton, got drunk off wine and swam in the pool.

Friday: Went Canoeing, and had a BBQ with her and my buddy Nick, got drunk off wine and swam in the pool in the evening. Got into an argument already… LOL alcohol, emotions from lack of sleep and probably being around each other so much so early triggered it. Basically, we don’t trust each other enough got into a fight over it… Oh well still a good night overall. Canoeing I have to say was probably the best part. It was sooo relaxing, I absolutely love the water.

Saturday: Woke up around 10am, swam and got some sun. She went home around 1:00pm I started playing and made +1156. I ran deep in so many tournaments and won one small $33 for $1.5k.

I’m going to be honest it feels kinda weird starting a relationship with the history that I explained before. I also don’t really like having one to be honest, its a scary thing and can add a ton of stress to your life. At the sametime a relationship can be a lot of fun and make your life greater. Who knows… I’m just going to gamble with it and see what happens. You only live once right?

off to a new start by selker, August 16

Hi

i am new here on liquid althoug i have bin reading posts and hand histories here for about a year now, i have bin playing for about 2 years and mainly mtt's and sng's
and always about brake even and now i am going to give cg a try.

I cashed a couplae off times in mtt's for about 1k and 2k and always blew it away in the sunday mill and other sunday majors filled up with ego,
and sometimes 1/2$ and 2/4$

so now after 2 weeks of break from poker i am going to give cg a try,
my br isn't that big so i will be starting in nl 5$, pff you might think cous its realy low stakes but im not going to look at it that way i am going to look at it like level 2 level 1 being nl 2$ wich i am skipping.

Iv always found cg interesting but i didn't wanna start taking it seriously untill i had poker tracker and i have mac so i was waiting for pt3 for mac and then i came across poker copilot witch i like althoug it does not save stats after you shut it down only your own stats but some people may think thats ok since then you know how your oponent is playing at the moment but not over all, and i can keep track of my br as well.

So i took one session last night and was up 5 bi after about 900 hands dont know if thats good or not maybe you tell me, i will be playing with 20-30 bi untill i make nl 50$ and i will not be playing more than 6 tables, i think thats one of the mistakes i made in sng's playing up to 24 tables a time having no idea how my oponents where playing, so i just wanted to introduse my selfe before i'll be posting here on the forums hope you guys can be some help.

laters.

ps. sorry for the misspels if there are any.

The long slow road by effen, August 16

Woke up this morning, played 3k hands of 100NL and promptly dropped 4 BI to more of the same from last night. It was only after that point that the gravity of losing ~30% of my bankroll in under 24 hours hit. Gotta admit I was pretty crushed for a few hours. Had a pretty great dinner though and it was back to the grind.

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8578/betteru.jpg

Still about ~350 in mistakes which at this point is really intolerable but it's a start. Nice to run good (nice to have reload donks too), but pretty hard to have most of my losses be at 200NL and make it back at half the stakes. Regardless, I also hit my 3k milestone during one of the sessions, so I'm basically back where I started.

This whole plan was contingent upon being at 200NL full time by Sept. 1 or this is just impossible. If yesterday hadn't happened I could have cruised to 20k in the next 2 weeks and all that coulda stopped me from there on was lack of work ethic and/or my eyes falling out. I'm not out of it, there's still 2 weeks left, but I've got a pretty steep climb ahead of me. Still, I'm not giving up. Worse comes to worse this will end up being a push to the 800k milestone instead of Elite itself. Not what I want, but not too shabby either. Anyway, bed.

BR: $15,886
VPPs: 301,201

1st in 8.8 on stars for 3.3k by lvcjarrett, August 15

Its been three months since a decent score. I finally took something down. I was afraid of putting up a thread on Rail Heaven(I didn't want to jinx it). I'm on my way out to get MESSED UP with my buddies. Cheers! Have a great night!!!!!!!! I'm really not tight with anyone on LP or in the poker community in general, but I'd like to trade some PS for FTP money. PM me or message me at zachyjsinatra on AIM. I'm willing to transfer first to established LPers.

I play under LVCjarrett on stars

time + motivation + luck/skill = success? by ParadoxPLZ, August 15

Hi Lp. I've played online before but I never really put much effort into it. The problem was I didn't really enjoy playing it that much. I've started playing again recently and I'm finding an enjoyment in the game I didn't have before, so that's new. It probably has to do with the fact that I'm thinking a bit more now.
Currently I'm at 10nl, but hopefully within a month I'll have enough BR to play at 25nl. I hear that it's a lot harder now so I'm a bit nervous. I might end up just having particularly tilt filled session and blow my entire BR in one fell swoop. I don't think I'd be that volatile but I won't rule that possibility out entirely since I've had that happen before. Controlling myself when I hit my first big cooler will probably be the first real test to see whether I'm capable of success.

I'm hoping that I'm the type of player that learns the game fast enough to move up the limits at a decent rate. My sessions are usually a couple hours long and on good days I have about 3 sessions I sit through. It's still not entirely unusually for me to feel like crap due to tilt at the end of an unlucky string of beats. Clearly I haven't been desensitized yet to all facets of the game. Still, after I let my emotions settle I start feeling like playing again and I do so with a clear mind so that's probably a good sign. Game play wise I'm pretty satisfied with how things have been going so far. I'm playing a lot more intelligent then I was when I quit. I guess a lot of the stuff that I thought I understood then I've internalized now due to the natural incubation effects of time. I've also noticed a decent rate at improvement since I've started playing so far, at least relative to before. Hopefully my game will continue to improve at this rate.

Well, thanks for reading my introduction. I'll be posting updates here whenever I feel I've gone a few more steps forward. My intention for writing this is that I hope it will be useful to me in the future as a way to look back on things. Other then that, if you have any insights to share about the current poker environment, or whatever, I'd really appreciate it.

Seeya later LP

Big hands of the week by piratematerial, August 15

Really drunk right now. Just returned from an afternoon of beer's at the café followed up by a night of beer's with friends. promised to put up some hands so here we go!

Filtered my hh's for the past week and came up with the biggest winners and losers. I want to show you the suckouts and shit as well as it is very boring to look through a bunch of coolers. In case i spewed horribly it's more fun so let's hope there is some of that as well... no idea what i'm going to put here but let's see.

a big winner, this guy was steaming a little bit and i basically just let him spew into me..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/731326

wow, in retrospect this is so spewy by him. must have been an agressive match. i think i 4bet him a lot because he made a lot of those annoying small 3bets. when he 5bet i just shoved because i thought it would look weakest and there were a lot of flops where he would get away from whatever.. didnt expect him to stack this light..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731327

fish who probably regrets his flop peel.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731328

doesnt seem so bad by him, except pf. unlucky to run into the near nuts.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731329

seems so obvious, why does he call??
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731330

v.spewy by him pf i guess.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731331

pf hand
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731332

lost a lot to this fishy guy before finally beating him down. usually managed to suckout somewhere on the road to valuetown, but not this time.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731333

makes me wonder why i am not up a ton this week :S, really curious to the big losers..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731334

THE LOSERS--->

spewy pf call.. i talked about this hand before in a blogpost. it's the biggest loser of the week. and i think it's a mistake by me
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731335

calling station villain, i think i played it well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731337

agressive villain who 3bets 25% of hands.. is it a fold??
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731338

yeah as i mentioned i had a lot of trouble with this villain. because he had the very usefull special power to hit a lot of rivers
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731339

a reg i played some matches with. was 3betting me a TON. looks like spew by me.. do regret.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731340

same guy who gets it in with Aj vs my kings.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731341

not the most solid call by villan. i look good
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731342

flip
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731343

wrongfully read his line was full of BS and put him on a draw or air, acted accordingly and am SO WRONG..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731345

huge fish, why do i make these calls.. so horrible.. no wonder he ended up a ton on me. he made it so obvious i guess i couldnt believe it.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731346

already posted this in the forum. more spew by me
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=731347

ok some hands by me that are really really bad. a few of them i didnt remember and it's quite embarassing to put them here.. :S anyway. if you have any comments on how i could improve how i played these hands thanks a lot. hope you enjoyed looking through my winners and losers and good night.

update results so far by piratematerial, August 15

Since i've set myself the challenge to attain 10bb/100 at 100nl Headsup i have played approximately 10 days. The first few days i've updated results daily. These are the results of the last 7 days.
I learned a lot this week. I've been watching a lot of videos and making some adjustments to my game. I blogged about some of them before. I think overall i've been playing really solid. There have been two villains who i've lost 6 buyins too. I think both of them were huge fishes and in the long run i should easily make 10bb/100 on them but it wasn't to be.
I think i should improve my game in 3bet and 4bet pots by a lot. As you can see in the hands i posted in the forum and from the commentary i got on them. Will work on it.

The results so far have been really bad. It's only about 10k worth of hands so the sample is actually quite small and some big hands have had mayor impact upon my results.

In the report section you can see though that i've been running pretty bad in the all-in situation. I don't usually pay much attention too any other lines then the profit line but i have a question about non-showdown winnings (the red line) it steadily goes down and shows a loss for me. This is just style dependent right? And i should be able to win whether it's positive or negative?

Hope to be able to show better results soon and in the meantime i am still trying to get better. Might make a video soon and if i have more time this weekend i will make a post about my 10 biggest losers and winners or something.

Good luck all.

My summer by vasoline73, August 15

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/3f309.poker.JPG

Yeahhhhh. Since my last blog I've pretty much started over on FTP. I started at AP originally.. didn't really do well, lost interest in my roll. Got a rakeback account on FTP and transferred 50 bucks there... played alot until I had finals and stuff and had to study... and basically only ended up playing 15000 hands my whole summer .

Howevvvvvvver I'm happy to say I am finally out of NL2 short of crashing and burning like I did around hand 5800... lol :/. I feel like I've gotten a better understanding of the game and am trying to play in position better than I used to.

Also today thanks to LP I took advantage of the PT3 micro stakes edition and bought myself a copy. Today it pretty much paid for itself with a crazy heater + helping me read villains better... but after playing so for so long without it I have to admit I feel like it is weird to go back (I used to have a cracked torrented version when I played AP and when I first started on FTP because I'm bad like that ) and I feel like I was enjoying playing without the stats. That being said, I know in general this is going to help me alot more.

One thing PT3 DOES do for me that I don't really know how to feel about is that it makes my red line shoot up. When I see player's "call flop bet" stats.. I pretty much abuse them as much as possible. On one hand, obviously its a good thing because my red line goes up, on the other hand I think I get myself into marginal situations on turn and river if I feel like I have an ok hand, thus I get out of line. So that's something else I need to work on.

I do feel good about that big jump in my graph though... the only reason it didn't keep going up was because I lost AA v KK for a pretty big size of my stack at a table and villain continued to run well against me and I didn't really know how to handle his aggressiveness. Should have probably just left the table

Anywaaaays, thanks everyone who has been commenting on my hand histories in the side bar, it helps alot to get your opinions. Please keep giving me criticism/advice. That's all for now.

Rough few days by AgentIce, August 15

Had some rough days past few days, stuff I can't really go into in a public blog, needless to say hopefully that's all handled. It should be. I did play a little bit the past few days, with good results, my new work ethic and way of approaching the game seems to be doing well. I actually am enjoying playing poker for the first time in ages It wasn't accidental either, I had a very toxic attitude about poker before. I've worked hard to change it, and I seem to be more patient, more relaxed, and more thorough with my new mindset. It's pretty exciting, it feels so much better to play now

I actually was down 8 buy-ins but it didn't bother me one bit. I didn't feel I had to stop, that I was playing bad, start berating myself, start worrying about shit that I can't control, or any of the other crap I used to do. I just patiently kept playing, and kind of went into "the zone" where I was in a trance like state actually. Next time I knew, I checked my balance and I was up 120$. A session that would have stressed me out before was actually quite pleasant! =)
