Anybody know what the most comfortable chair out there is? I was looking at the Herman Miller Aeron, and it looks nice, but I also heard from friends and others that the Embody is better. Anybody know other chairs that are around the $400-700 price range that are nice? Also, if anybody knows a good place to purchase these, it'd be nice too
Thanks
Please post any criticisms or comments on this article, as well as any suggestions for future ones. I think my next one will be on understanding the psychology behind 4bets and how to use that information to combat them.
Hour long deep house mix. Starts with a slow, old R&B sound and progressively gets more hype. Tons of jazz, old techno and funk influences in the tracks. Good grind music imo. Any feedback would be great.

Me and a friend are going to the awesomest game of awesome games in november, barcelona - real madrid at camp nou. Tickets were pretty expensive though like $800, but itll obviously be worth it! Also zlatans goal vs hungary was so awesome, can't remember last time I got that excited about a goal since I thought our chance to go to WC was over.
Pokerwise I've been doing pretty well the last months and since I graduated this year and don't study or work I think I should at least get in 60k hands this month.
Got a text from a friend about a 1/2 game at a club here in Ann Arbor. Michigan games are for charity and I'm really not sure why they run them. I eat a delicious dinner of a zucchini fritter sandwich, garlic fries, and a porter beer. I get there at 9:30 PM and turns out they are playing 1/2 NLHE and PLO. I buy in for 100 since I am a nit.
Sidebar: I went to AC 3 weeks agoand dropped 560, 50 from NL200, 100 in PLO200, and 350 in 10/20 OE(LOL FISH). I made about 335 back, 70 in a spur of the moment 2 hour 1/2 session, 135 in a 30 dollar live donkament, and 130 playing a little 1/2 and a sng. So i want to grind it back up.
Very first hand I am utg+2(No posting) and i flat a raise with AA35 and like 2 more callers and my super aggro friend repot and the OR flats with about 70 more and repot all in and my friend repots. and so does the other guy all in. He has A66T(lol) and the other guy has AQQJ and board runs out KK992 and i hold. Im at 300 Then I sit on my laurels won small pot now and then I get AAxx again and call a raise then my friend repots again and OR calls and I repot and he shoves in 200 and OR has like 100 total and I call. My frend has 9322 lol and other guy has JQJ3. Board runs out T9T3T and I win the pot. Now i have like 640. I then call a raise(along with 5 people) with AQJ9 suited Ace diamonds. Flop is J94 2 clubs. Check around to button who bets 34 into 49. Short calls and I flat. Turn 5 and shorty shoves all in for 11 and re raise to 60 and button(my aggro friend) tanks and shoves for 200 and I call and he has J4. River is a 2 and short wins the main with 5322(he had a flush draw as well) and I win the 380 side pot and have like 750 in my stack. I played like one more semi interesting hand. I opened to 5 utg with 88 and get 3 bet to 16 by a 750 stack. BB cold calls(drunk guy). I flat. Flop is 774. We both check and he bets 25. BB folds and I call, planning to rely on reads on turn. Turn is 5 and I check preparing to call at least one more time. He checks behind. River is Q and I check and he is like I should put 300 here and checks and shows 56. i guess I could have played it better. I talked to him afterwards and he said he was close to 3 barrelling and Im not sure if I could have folded. So 2 AM rolls around and I cash out for 778. I tip 20 to the dealers and walk out with a 658 profit.
The game was very passive like 50/10 overall since my aggro friend raised like 50% of pots. The game was very soft and I look forward to another night there.
Hello there good sirs and madames. Tomorrow is my 25th birthday, so give me some birthday wishes etc. I'm not that much of a holiday person, but I have to do a little bit of something, I can't do nothing. Some of my friends recently left the country though, so I'm a little sad about that and recently I'm trying to drink the least amount of alcohol possible so I'm not gonna go partying or anything. I think what I plan on doing is just going out for some food with a few friends and the girlfriend then coming back to mine and just chillin' with a few drinks and nerding in my apartment room, nothing special but I prefer to be in smaller groups of people anyway.
The reason I'm not drinking lately is because I started getting personal training at the gym 8 days ago and making the biggest effort I've ever made to get fit and healthy. I'm currently around about 5ft 10 (178cm), 74.7kg (165lbs) and 20.x% body fat, obviously I need to cut that body fat way down and pack some muscle on, and that's my goal. I'm going to the gym everyday so far, walking 50 minutes everyday and doing some light weights and various other exercises 3 times a week. I have the time, money and drive to make some serious progress this time around (I made a few half hearted 1 month attempts before where I did close to 0 cardio, only went to the gym 3 times a week and continued to drink and eat bad foods) but there's a few nutritional details I'm not sure about yet. The problem is, when I'm home and I'm sitting in my chair and I have nothing better to do I just waste away the day, I'm lazy as fuck when I'm home alone and it takes some serious effort to get up and make food. So what I really wanna know is what are good healthy high protein, low fat "snacks" that I can make real quick or simply pick up and eat straight out of the cupboard/fridge/whatever, if anyone has some good nutritional advice, please share because nutrition is my main concern right now as my Personal Trainer takes care of all the exercises that I do and I don't have to worry about that. I'm already feeling slightly healthier and more awake during the day as opposed to in the past, and feel like I'm going to be able to stick at this this time around so I'm really feeling good about that.
Poker lately has been fairly bad. Last blog I posted I was up over 10k just over half way through last month, running well, playing well etc and I got up to a peak of +$15k for the month 1 or 2 days after the blog post. However things quickly turned around when I took some 20 buyin shots at $10/$20 (Don't worry I have more money offline so it's not like I'm playing out of my bankroll) that went very poorly and I ended up being down $1k for the month a week after the blog post, which was my biggest trough for the month. In the end of the month I finished up somewhere between 5.5 and 6k with some continued success at $5/$10, but it was disappointing overall because I felt like I was just beginning to get into a good momentum, and was hoping to run well at $10/$20 and make that my main game for the rest of the year, but alas, it didn't work out.
This month things have started out poorly aswell. I've only played $5/$10 and I am actually up money, but I'm not doing well in showdowns as my hands are either not holding and my draws are not getting there and I've also already had 2 set vs oversets in this small sample, but I guess the fact that I'm up is a positive and I do feel like I'm playing well. I feel more focused in my sessions, possibly the working out and eating healthier in general is having a positive effect here and overall I feel like things are going to turn around for me this year and I'll end up having a reasonable year by the end of it even though I'm only up like $20k so far this year.
For those just tuning in, I'm just starting off with Hold'em and I've been playing fake money until I get the Brunson and Hansen books.
As an update, I got really bored with just one table, as I was making good progress and found it to be very slow-paced. I decided to go ahead and multi-table, starting with 4. I immediately lost all my money because I was cocky.
After watching High Stakes Poker with my dad for a while, I decided to reset my chip count and come back. 1000 chips, 4 tables, 200 each with 200 extra just in case. As I realized it was more systematic with more tables, I watched my bankroll grow. I just finished 6-tabling, and I've turned that 1000 into 4500 in an hour and a half.
Again, I know it's fake money and it's not an accomplishment, but if you've read my previous blogs this is more of a personal progress thing than anything else.
So I just got back from the 18 man tournament. I'm surprised so many people showed up on labor day to play this, first prize was $200, followed by $150 then $100 for third. I started with about 9500 chips, which was about average among the better players who began with 12-20k. The non-regulars of these freerolls began with 1k + any other winnings they had accumulated before. Blinds started at 5/10 lol so splash city. Basically all my low cards were flopping pictures and high paint seeing low flops. I hit some hands trying to force big action but everyone was so uptight wtf? So I begin getting impatient.
at 25/50 blinds, I open ace-queen offsuit in the cutoff 175, and a kid my age who I had knocked out countlesstimes before makes it 350 to go. I call. Flop comes Ks108s. He CHECKS to me so I'm like yeah mother fucking bet!!! 750, he check/minraises to 1500. at this point i'm like fuck this is gonna look super dumb if I fold. Hes got me covered at 11k chips. I look for any reason to peel or make a move at his face and he swallows nervously, very legit without breaking eye contact. I throw a 5000 chip on the table to show him what internet poker is all about son! He deliberates then shoves...I muck and ohhhhhhh god, for the next 5 minutes there was a shitstorm of comments there. I've officially branded myself as a grade-a donator. Totally felt bleh after doing something I would never do, even onlines!
Then suddenly my table catches my FPS fever. I see the same kid overbetting 11k into a 1.5k pot with 77 into 3 people on 855. Some dude calls with trips and I'm going WTF???? Curse of the 5k graychip. Then some other dude bets the flop and shoves turn with 8J on K910 in position out of nowhere, and I think hes actually pretty balanced as far as play goes. Everyone began losing their peanuts and I'm sitting here going oh god wtf, there is a lesson to be learned here.
We go on break and I go into lockdown mode. This white gangsta kid I've been battling hard with (but not flopping in my favor) raises utg. He is super loose aggressive and splashy but reckless to the point where its obviously unprofitable. We are 5 handed and hes got me covered at 5k+ chips, blinds at 200/400. I raise 2600 over his 800 chip minraise and he calls, what?!??! FLop is 642, he checks and I instshove, which I've been doing with bluff hands many times and getting caught, he looks me up and loses unimproved with ace-queen off. Ship it I'm at 11k!!!
Third break finishes, blinds at 300/600 of the final table, 8 players. I peek down at JJ utg and make it 1800. This brash lucky level -1 thinker has got me covered, and checks his holecards befoere I do and goes "now I'll show you how to play some poker" and continues to talk nonstop. He had been chatting casually with a lady next to him and it folds around, he shoves into me and I'm like easy turbomuck.
Let me tell you about live set ups. There is so much stimulation going on that it will mess with your mind a little bit. I decide to indulge in this stimulation, not knowing how to make any use of the information I might gather lol, but might as well play C-list hollywood like any other tom, dick, and harry at the table. So's I starts chatting this 40 year old up, whos obviously way way more than socially equipped to handle any comments I might have. So I smack him with "those chips will look pretty good once I double up", and he goes "no I won't be out, I'll still have some left". Blah blah some other comments to goad me and the table goes "ooooh". I lose the battle of wits and my ego does not like that one bit. I'm boiling like day fresh Maine lobster in a dutch oven. Its high time I show this grandfather clock what web hold'em is all about. No shortage of gamble here!
From an independent overhead perspective, such as one might find in an online setting, folding KK here wouldn't look that bad, with ~9k left at 300/600 blinds. Some table banter from other players sealed the call. it was curtains as he flipped over the nuts.
I just DL'd and played the demo on Steam and while my computer can't run it at the best graphics, the gameplay is awesome and totally engrossing. I never thought they could make a good batman game but they actually did. It doesn't come out for PC (on Steam at least) till the 15th so I've gotta wait a bit still, but I'm excited and definitely getting it ASAP.
played 10 tournies today and had all 10 running at the same time at one point having above avg stacks in all of them being a few hours in
then came a 30 minute period where I busted 8 tournies and pretty much bubbled 5 by losing flips and got sucked out on/lost flips in the other 3 which were the $530/$215 wcoop and the $109 rebuy
Having busted out of all the big tournies with no cashes I cashed in the $55 daily 80k and $22 1R1A which wasn't much
overall pretty disappointed but theres still hope I have a % of gawdawaful in the $530 and hes doing pretty well so heres to hoping he wins
I'm a superawesome loser. by DustySwedeDude, September 06
So today I turned down hanging out with the Asian chick who digs me just to play poker. That has to be a sign of something I don't want to think about. Also, I started out down like 8k due to stupid spots, a really bad stack off and some other crap. Played decentish I guess, but not much better. Played a game of dota and watched Escape from New York with my roomie. Felt a lot better due to owning randoms in dota and watching what might be a new pick for my top10 coolest movies ever (probably just below Watchmen, but might very well beat Zombie Strippers). Went back, owned some souls, ran good, played even better most of the time and a little while later I'm suddenly up like 3k for the day. 2nd day in a row I manage to start out down a fair bit and make a comeback which included a +10k session. I'm almost as awesome as this cat:
