Anybody know what the most comfortable chair out there is? I was looking at the Herman Miller Aeron, and it looks nice, but I also heard from friends and others that the Embody is better. Anybody know other chairs that are around the $400-700 price range that are nice? Also, if anybody knows a good place to purchase these, it'd be nice too
Thanks

I have the Herman Millar Aeron Chair, but I paid more like $1.2k for it. I got it in South Korea, which is probably why it cost more than it would in the states. Anyway I like it a lot and I think it's well worth the money if you're gonna spend that long sitting in your chair. I remember reading about CTS talking about his chair, saying he would've spent like $100k on it considering how much time he spends on it, the comfort it gives him, allowing for longer, more profitable poker sessions. I'm not sure which chair he was talking about though. |

Btw, what specs does your chair have? Do you have the adjustable one? It costs a lot more than the standard one. I'm guessing you do since you paid 1.2k, any thoughts on if the adjustability is worth it? |

hey mate,
i did all this research into the best chairs about a month or two ago... and tried out the aeron and the embody at the store.
personally, i sat on the embody first when i went into the store, and it was absolutely amazing. you really have to try it to believe it. i know im just a sample size of 1 but i really loved it, its just so comfy and it feels like its just holding your back there and not pressing against it, and if you lean back it moves back perfectly... hard to explain so id definitely recommend trying it out at a local high-end chair store if u can
i also tried sitting on the aeron afterwards, but tbh it just felt really "meh"... and i was expecting to be blown away by it... i guess the embody was so good that i was a bit disappointed by the aeron after... it didn't feel too comfy, it has hard plastic bits at the front of the chair, it feels kinda like sitting in a hard tight trampoline. it wasn't too bad... but to compare, the embody felt more like sitting in a cloud... so that was the biggest difference
in looks though, i think the aeron probably looks slicker in that its got a classic black look... embody is a bit out there but i personally like it, but some might think it is a bit too exotic for their personal taste. but u can get it in whatever colour u want, and so if black is ur colour of choice u can still get black frame / black fabric if needed
so yea my final verdict is to recommend getting an embody if ur going to spend that amount of money on a chair... its amazing. but different people like different chairs so just try and get to a store that has these chairs in the showroom... then your decision will be easier! |
