Kind of cool by Xervean, November 19

I haven't lost a session since I figured something out about my game. Its been over two weeks now. Dont play a whole lot... just 1-2k hands a day avg. Just kinda cool I guess. Gonna make a prediction that i'll be crushing midstakes in 3 months for a good clip. Dont really tilt anymore. Almost 100% buddhist now. Anytime I feel bad beated or whatever I just think of death and how we can take nothing with us, and that the origin of all suffering is attachment. After that im pretty much instantly calmed down. Also think of my favorite Tao Te Ching quote "he who feels deprived once had privilege".

Really!?! by Bigbobm, November 19

Lately I've developed some weird habits with poker. For a while I would play a standard 2-3 hour session and when I finished, I wouldn't check the results. It's not that I didn't want to, I just wouldn't remember to. It's only when I restart my computer, or feeling like I'm on some wicked tilt that I check it.

I've played two sessions today, and I ended the last one with the impression that I was down a bit or at best break even for both. After looking at my PT the only thing that came to my mind was Aj (Doomer). Allow me to explain. For anyone who has ever met Aj, you are probably familiar with how Aj says 'really' when hes excited or surprised. If you've never met Aj, you really need to make an effort to find him at an event, because I can't find the words to describe it, but it's just one of those things you need to experience.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/e1016.nasty.png

This is basically what I call an Aj 'really' moment. I was pretty shocked to see that I was actually up, and not only that but my red line was pretty much break even. I've always had a non showdown graph that was a constant -5ptbb, so I never really bothered to look at this graph. But I made a few adjustments last month to plug some leaks that I thought I had and I guess it worked a lot better than I had expected. For the last hour or so, I've just been replaying Aj's saying 'really!?' in my head every time I see this graph.

Aside from poker, I'm getting a car tomorrow with the help of Subaru from lp. I'm not really sure what I'm buying but it's definitely nothing fancy, because it's only going to be a winter car. Other than that I turn 23 next week, and I just got Modern Warfare 2. So on that note, I'm gonna go play some video games.

How do I take a break? by LemOn[5thF], November 19

I have played 40 hours of poker in like 9 days, which is A LOT when you have a full time job.
My success has been enormous, and I have had the most epic month so far ever.
But...I need a break. Seriously, as I am reaching the burnout phase again and playing equals spewing only (see my previous blog)

But its so hard not to come home, auto open my comp and auto jump to LP, what if I miss anything new right?

So I am asking you guys, what do you do when you want to take your mind completely off poker?
Movies and DVDs are no good as I watch them on my PC (and I get bored so often->Open LP-> Play 2 tables while watching.

Poker is gay... by DustySwedeDude, November 19

... For real. At least it feels a lot like I'd imagine it'd be if some big black dude tried to have his way with your behind.

Thus I'm doing mostly other things. Those includes writing a novel (almost done with the first page!) and plotting how I can get some fairly cute girl who's favourite pick up line is "I have a lesbian friend" to dump her bf. Plotting is fun.

Really, really, really looking forward to Warsaw. Will get to hang out with Gawuss and maybe say weird things into a camera while some pretty girl with a mic has to keep her face fairly straight. First one I haven't done before and the second is fun if you've had enough red bull and/or other stuff that messes with your mind.

Pleasant surprise by RICHI8, November 18

Luckboxed 3rd place in the $33 $23.k guaranteed for $3.4k. I "guess" (lol) that makes up for the recent run bad. NL100 shots coming soon. Gonna take the rest of the night off and tomorrow just review hands and unwind and then 4-6 table NL100.

Fuck HU, Go 6max by Jimmit, November 18

OK, played HU for a couple of days, it was a bad experience. HU sucks, I cant handle the swings in that games. For the last days I have played only 6max, and I run more bad than a 89,5 years old paralyzed man.

Have like 15 bi left, so I'm starting at NL10 again and never more going to play heads up. Atleast not in the near future.

Make me feel better by RICHI8, November 18

Last 4 days have been absolutely brutal. Just as I was feeling like I was finally going to burst and run my bankroll up Mr. Variance has come and smacked me back down. Set over set, flush over flush, making trips vs full houses. You name it, it's happened. This is so demoralizing. My bank roll was $2100 and now it's $1600. I get 0 action with my hands and everytime I do get action I'm getting coolered. This is my first month of grinding a lot and it's really being hard on me. I hate it. Stupid fucking Full Tilt teased me with running good for about 2k hands and then does this to me.

Poker Video Sites by Chewits, November 18

I want to sign up to a monthly kinda thing at CR or DC etc, but notice they only accept credit cards, which sucks completely balls. I have a Maestro (aka Switch), that is accepted alot around this planet we live on. How can these sites only accept credit cards? I notice they allow paypal, but fuck I have no Idea how that works, and it looks like the biggest pain in the arse. Is moneybookers the same sort of thing? Is it difficult to set up or am I just being a noob?

Regarding Poker Video sites, which do you feel is the best, for Low Stakes, NL50 level, 6max and HU play. I need to drastically work on my game, and not having access to these videos is definitely -EV for me.

virtually busto by piratematerial, November 18

eh i have 400$ left in my account after losing 6k in a mix of 200nl and 100nl HU. i have 100k fpp though. emailed stars to ask if they can instantly turn it into cash as it will enable me to keep generating rake for them

and put me back into action.

i am not devastated as my networth isnt gone. but my online bankroll pretty much is. still really really sad as i lost so many hands i didnt want to lose. it made playing a lot less fun. this was my last hand. after this one i decided to quit the huge fish as it was more important to have at least $400 remaining to grind something..

grinding sngs or playing chess untill they release my $1500.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/768340

really feel kind of blue since i have a strong feeling my pokergame 6max & HU is better then ever yet i am forced to grind something i do not enjoy to rebuild let alone be able to cashout a nice sum... that's not gonna happen in the foreseeable future.

SLowHab Book review by PplusAD, November 18

Okay here it is
My review about the book.

The book is named " Exploiting Regulars" and contains a total of 102 pages of written text + HH ( liek 110 pages if u count intro and textcoer etc..)
I dont know who slowhabit is and tbh i never heared of him before in my life.
When i first got the offer to get this book for free , i didnt reply since i thought this is a cheap attampt to get my e.mail ...
but after that i read that some others got the book , too
i replied to get my copy in exchange for making a review.
It was mentioned exclusivly that i can write my own honest opinion on the quality of the book

review

This book offers concepts of exploiting the midstakes (NL100-NL600) multi tabling regular who plays like 6+ tables with a SOLID TAG (20/17/2,5 or similar style)

Most of the content explains in detailed Hand Historys on which boards u can take agressive lines to make your opponents fold the majority part of their hand range.
The book basically explains how to successfully play a very agressive style postflop

I have only played ~ 1,2K hands so far 2 tabling 6max trying to implement the concepts of the book.
i made a nice +243$ profits despite doing some really big mistakes.
But the more important is that now after studying the book for a bit i start to see sooo much opportunities to make money without having a hand !

and this alone makes poker so much more fun.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/767610

Do i recommend an e-book for 90$ ( pre order + LP bonus)
definitely !

For whom do i not reccomend it
1.) Nl25 and NL50 players who have just started the game a few months ago and are not yet ready in their hand reading and range thinking ability to play ultra agressive .... they will most likley not understand the concepts and spew their BR away in the wrong spots
2.) NL400+ regulars who are allready decent winners. I dont think u will learn something new

For whom do i recomend it
1.) Tight breakeven NL100 / NL200 players who are playing this game for ages but somehow just cant seem to break out of lowMidstakes ever
this book is a very worthy investment for sure

Is 90$ or even 199$ too expensive for this book ?
LOl no way. for a lowmidstakes grinder this book is probably worth a couple thousands ...
