20k VPP Day almost +10k day :(by Joeingram1, October 23
FML seriously never been so tilted over a +4k session. I had my first PED day of the month so far today and loaded up a 2/4 session and played for about 7 hours. My goal was to make 10k and i really felt like I was on my way and playing my A+ game and crushing. Then I started to lose my focus and ped started wearing off a little and I told myself if i got down to +5k for the session I would stop, so obviously 1k later I finished up and the dream I had was over.
I was manage to rebound with a 20k vpp day though and am at 211k now for the month. Just barely behind pace but still looking good. Here is graph for the session, going going oing going and then fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
At the beginning of the Swedish football season, I bet 500 SEK (swedish kroner), which is around $75 that a Syrianska FC would win Superettan (which is the Swedish 2nd division). I made this bet, last march/april iirc.
They managed to pull through, winning, and cutting it really close. So I won 5000 SEK which is like $750 - ez shippin.
Read through my last entry if your interested in possibly staking a winning midstakes tourny player. A couple of points were brought up that should be addressed for anyone that is interested.
-I would like a stake because I prefer to follow good BR management (100 buy ins) which would leave me playing $5-$10 tournaments right now. I'm happy doing this, and will continue to do so if a staker does not show interest. Yes, I have a huge edge in these, but that doesnt mean I can just register and beat 2.5k people and easily move up limits. It takes time and is a process I would like to speed up if possible. I've done it before and I'm sure I will do it again, it would just be nice to speed up the process a bit and make someone money as well. Also, it would strengthen my reputation on this site.
-A big deal was made about my cash game ability (disability?). I'm much stronger at tournaments, I basically played cash from a BR of $40 to 1k and then I switched to tournies. I had a lot of success, making i up to about 20k. I then cashed out a bit and took somewhat of a break. I started playing heads up cash games 100nl because I could play and not have to commit 7 hours to it. I mistakingly thought beating $55 tournies meant I could beat 100nl. Clearly I was wrong. Please dont let this detract from my tournament resume.
-I have transferred money with LP members and engaged in staking/being staked numerous times. I'm not friends with any of the people I have done this with but if someone that has engaged in staking/transfers with me would vouch for me or atleast say how our transfer went smoothly that would help.
I realize once it gets to the point where I have to defend myself it looks bad and it scares people away. I hope this clears up any concerns anyone thats interested may have had. I have received a few pm's but nothing has materialized yet. PM or reply if your interested.
********I would like to trade my ~$1163 on Cake for your $1133 on FTP***************
Been rollercoastering so hard for a long time emotionally, and it is always such a close reflection to how poker has been going in the last couple days. Obviously this is bad and just trying to "will away" negative feelings really just doesn't work. Like we all know it comes down to balance.. I hope I am making my way towards that as I head into my 2nd week in the gym. I really want to get back into my pre-poker shape and then beyond, but I am afraid to set any real goals because I've mostly failed every goal I've set in the last 11-12 months. I'm just gonna do my best.
Today I randomly clicked on nanonoko and then navigated over to nolan's online results and found it really inspiring. I think I need some more inspiring/motivating type shit to enter my brain during these last 2 months of my poker shot. Cuz if I'm not reasonably solidly at nl100 by Jan 1st I need to dip out of this scene.
Something I've noticed over this whole experience is that it is very difficult for me to take what feels like a "slow and steady" path. Maybe its just how I've ran during my shots and early-moveups and having to move down again every fuckin' time. I dunno.
I feel alright right this second though.. so here goes!
I am sad, because I started watching a video on there with a free 7 day trial...and cant watch the continuation. And i can't afford a subscription...and it makes me emo cuz the vid was awesome....sigh
Just trying to play a little rush at the office, tethering my cellphone to my pc to hide my tracks, and I cant get more than 5 fucking hands in before some cunt starts crying that her PDF isnt printing, or that the print quality is faded, or that the projector wont turn on, or that the scanner isnt scanning, or someone just wants to talk about how cool wifi is and that the shingles on their goddamn roof reduce cellphone reception. FUCK ALL YOU BITCHES!!!1
The one positive thing about this experience is that I realized there is a whole new level of thinking in poker. I actually had to start playing the game with a brain rather than mindless playing at NL 10 cause people actually start to fight back and become more competent. My respect for all the midstakes players skyrocketed because this shit is hard and I'm obviously really bad at this game. I can't imagine the thought process on higher level hands (at least not yet).
I'll never complain about people sucking at NL 10 again lol
Workin On HU - Help me outby The M Show, October 21
For the most part I start FR tables when Im playing. I think its great for a number of reasons and many of you probably already know them all. Lately I kind of feel like my HU game is lacking because Im a pretty tight player for the most part so I kind of feel a bit out of my element when Im playing HU and usually hope that the game fills up rather then play HU vs someone unless he is a complete idiot. I have memberships on all the training sites and I was just wondering which series you guys think are best for HU beginners? I think I could use some review on the basics.
Other then that poker is going great and I feel like Im playing my hands really well lately. This is all thanks to pokerstove which Ive come to really enjoy messing around with. Ive been messing around with ranges and looking at how a lot of the regulars play and it is making it a lot easier for me to play against them which is always a good thing.
Havent played a lot of SC2 over the last few days, mostly been playing poker and doing homework. Hopefully I can get in a few games over the weekend and move outta the "special olympic" bronze league lol. What do you guys think a good adjustment is to when a protoss gets out his colossus and you are T. I usually try not to let the P get to this point but when he does I find that if P gets 2+ of them I get ripped to shreds. What do you guys usually do?
Probably going to get in a few games before I crash for the night.
