this def has been a sick month the week I made the last blog I had won 44k the 4 days before putting me up 30k for the month but lost 45k from week till last wednesday putting me down about 15k for the month then I went to play live on Thursday till today and won 35k so I'm up 20k now sorry no graphs! will split the rest of the month between online and live (monday - thursday online and weekend live)
I tried to sit at some tighter tables to see if I could play against some players with reasonable stats. I can't.
I'm still playing really loose preflop, but I don't think thats my problem.
I am spewing really hard post flop and don't know how to react when people fight back. Since they usually just fold...I really shouldn't be giving them action when they fight back =(.
I'd love some more feedback on the hands i've posted.
But in a lot of ways you learn nothing when you run good. Glad this isn't my day job lol.
I have clinic at 8am tomorrow but will go through today's hands closely tomorrow if I have time.
If anyone uses msn and wants to talk micro full ring, do send me a pm
Well, had some promise tonight...was 4/100ish in the 2 dollar rush rebuy....got like.....80th or something ... for like 30 bucks...so ok return on investment....also was top 100 in a 5 dollar 6 max on PS...so that was like...15 bucks....
The 6 max ended crappily with someone hero calling me with 3rd pair on a k496A board that i 3bet pre, check check, he checks i bet he raises i call and shove river remaining like...15bb and get called by TT... w/e...i had q9 and put him on an underpair to the board...and an underpair to my nine....i was close...guy was weak...w/e
in the rush i just got 3bet to a shitty stack after i'd built up and then 3bet shoved KJs 20bb deep and get snapped with A6o...nothing u can do...
In other news, poker=profitable and i just need time to put in more volume
Showdown Hero shows,
christos9 doesn't show,
TOMYS33 doesn't show,
stagione doesn't show,
Hero wins $589.00 USD from main pot
Hero wins $1434.90 USD from main pot
Hero wins $780.00 USD from main pot
Well I noticed that when I filter for "did bet river = true" I got only 714 instances over a ~65k hand sample. Seems low. My river agg % is 25% which seems low too.
anyway, what I thought I was most important was that my nonshowdown line is +2200 over this sample, and my showdown winnings are only +713.
I filtered for "saw showdown = true" and got 306 hands, "saw showdown = false" was 408 hands or thereabouts.
Wondering what I should take away from this, seems that I need to bet the river more often with bluffs, cuz I'm making tons of money in nonshowdown winnings when I bet river with my nutted hands...
any tips? guess I'll report back after a couple sessions of trying to go crazy on the river
I need to take a break for the rest of the month to work on uni stuff.
I got 2500 word report incl. research due in 24 hours and I haven't started (I studied a lot for it and know the theory, but still I need to do a lot of research.
This month was heavily influenced by the fact that I have been ill for 2 weeks out of 3, my mindset was sub par and and the run bad affected me more than I'd like.
Basically I exercised heavily, got ill, got back to exercise too soon and fell ill again.... This shit sucked, and I need to be 100% before I go swimming/weight lifting again.
My game has been volatile as well, and I started robot playing, playing too much oop and being a POW on the river, its easy to get into a rot with multi tabling.
The adjustment was that I started to play too tight, folding blinds and my red line bombing because of that.
I focused on HEM filters to identify where I am losing money, and it was the BB/SB - I was folding too much there by playing passive/folding too much.
SB/BB Graph: http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/7805/lolja.png
You can see around 7k hands where I ran the filter and realised I need to look for spots where I can exploit people from the blinds.
I was always doing this, but I never managed not to spew massively oop, and I need to choose my spots in the blinds carefully and not be too obvious/imbalanced against the regs.
One thing I have also noticed how NL50 at Stars has changed over the span of 1 year since I was playing there seriously/not just weekends. 4bet bluffing is now a complete standard, and most non-weekend regs are 24/18/ 6-10% 3bet Tags, and there is so few fish compared to the past that simple bumhunt+avoid regs 100% of the time doesn't cut it anymore.
Being aggressive with picking spots carefully and playing a non-spewy game does
P.S.
As always, if you could click on my hands and post comments that would be awesome!
title should be "same shit, different year" lol.
anyway imma try and speed up the process(agony) and move up at 20bi per limit to lessen the misery.
i need to clear around 76kvpp till december so if i can't move up to 100nl again by then ill just reupload monies for that very purpose. gg me
20k VPP Day almost +10k day :(by Joeingram1, October 23
FML seriously never been so tilted over a +4k session. I had my first PED day of the month so far today and loaded up a 2/4 session and played for about 7 hours. My goal was to make 10k and i really felt like I was on my way and playing my A+ game and crushing. Then I started to lose my focus and ped started wearing off a little and I told myself if i got down to +5k for the session I would stop, so obviously 1k later I finished up and the dream I had was over.
I was manage to rebound with a 20k vpp day though and am at 211k now for the month. Just barely behind pace but still looking good. Here is graph for the session, going going oing going and then fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
At the beginning of the Swedish football season, I bet 500 SEK (swedish kroner), which is around $75 that a Syrianska FC would win Superettan (which is the Swedish 2nd division). I made this bet, last march/april iirc.
They managed to pull through, winning, and cutting it really close. So I won 5000 SEK which is like $750 - ez shippin.
Read through my last entry if your interested in possibly staking a winning midstakes tourny player. A couple of points were brought up that should be addressed for anyone that is interested.
-I would like a stake because I prefer to follow good BR management (100 buy ins) which would leave me playing $5-$10 tournaments right now. I'm happy doing this, and will continue to do so if a staker does not show interest. Yes, I have a huge edge in these, but that doesnt mean I can just register and beat 2.5k people and easily move up limits. It takes time and is a process I would like to speed up if possible. I've done it before and I'm sure I will do it again, it would just be nice to speed up the process a bit and make someone money as well. Also, it would strengthen my reputation on this site.
-A big deal was made about my cash game ability (disability?). I'm much stronger at tournaments, I basically played cash from a BR of $40 to 1k and then I switched to tournies. I had a lot of success, making i up to about 20k. I then cashed out a bit and took somewhat of a break. I started playing heads up cash games 100nl because I could play and not have to commit 7 hours to it. I mistakingly thought beating $55 tournies meant I could beat 100nl. Clearly I was wrong. Please dont let this detract from my tournament resume.
-I have transferred money with LP members and engaged in staking/being staked numerous times. I'm not friends with any of the people I have done this with but if someone that has engaged in staking/transfers with me would vouch for me or atleast say how our transfer went smoothly that would help.
I realize once it gets to the point where I have to defend myself it looks bad and it scares people away. I hope this clears up any concerns anyone thats interested may have had. I have received a few pm's but nothing has materialized yet. PM or reply if your interested.
