alright, im a young european hustler wich have played realmoney poker for about one year now. I started off with 1k at nl50 and switched to nl100 at 1,5k but after that i've had this 3000xbb (dunno why since im crushing every level im at i prolly should need 100bb max). anyways im playing nl400-600 atm and my goal for 2007 is to have 140k usd in my hand, wich wont be to hard since im i. Im hansen little brother, wich is sooooooo +ev since we bet on tv games and golf, wich is too +ev for me.
So I played a small session of just over 400 hands this morning before I left to visit my parents and it was geeewd. But how couldn't it be with players like this: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/141631
Well played sir!
There wasn't many difficult situations, although in this hand I think I could've saved some money on the turn: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/141635
Usually I raise this but I was hoping the short stack would move all-in with QTs or some shit as they often do, but he didn't this time. The half-pot bet on the flop after the pf reraise was screaming for AhKh, especially after he instacalled my raise. That was my initial read on the flop but just couldn't check-fold that turn. I should trust my reads more, would have saved almost half a buy-in here. Oh well, maybe next time.
Overall I ended up 115$ in this short session so can't complain, but there's always room to improve, eh?
I think I'll put in another session today, 400 hands just isn't enough to satisfy my gambling needs
I made just over 12 buyins on 1.5k hands of NL50. I played some maniac-style and since I showed down junk pretty often ppl started calling me with anything. It was so sick. I played like 600 hands this morning to but I was down like 40 USD or something. Didn't hit much stuff and made a few bad bluffs. However, I do feel that I get better at reading people while I play this style. Here's some hands:
Vol put in the pot: 47.78
Went to SD: 26.5
Won at SD: 49.81
PF raise: 35.47
Total AF: 3.47
BB/100 hands: 27.57 (it was over 45 during the best part of the heater)
I'm pretty sure that's a bit too loose, but I'll find balance soon because I don't think that it's healthy to grind TAG because one simply doesn't learn enough. Also, obviously I've been running crazy good but I do think that I should be able to have a bb/100 of like 10 or more playing LAG on this stake over like 10k hands. When I've done that I'll probably move back up to NL100 and see if they're as weak-tight.
January was a very good month for me. Banked $4.2k profit after all bills, transportation, and poor spending habits. I have come to the conclusion I have to quit smoking and drinking so heavily. I spent about $800-$900 on those two things alone this month.
So far in February I have banked 1.4k profit in 2 nights of work playing 1-2NL(shortly) and a very good couple of sessions of 2-5NL.
One nice call I made at 2-5: (short-handed)
UTG Fold, I limped in UTG+1 with 6-6(570$), caller to my left(550$), Button(800$) raises to 30$, fold, fold, I call, and the dumb ABC player to my left called.
Flop: 7s 9s 4h.
I check with the intention of check raising if the button decides to make a continuation bet. Both check behind.
Turn: Ks
Bad card for me. I check, ABC player bets 35$, button folds. I call.
River: Ad
I check, villan bets 60$. I call.
He says good call, I have nothing. And I watch his whole body sink into his chair when I turn over 6-6. lol.
Havent played all that much cash lately since ive been kinda busy partying and such. Intended to be up all saturday night to try to rid myself of my vampire sleeping schedual once and for all.
Didnt feel like 8-tabling 200nl or something stressful like that so I played a 109$ MTT and watched a movie. Ended up luckboxing my way through the field and was chipleader from the bubble to the final table. Chopped it with 3 left getting 3,5k for second. Think I made a pretty good deal. We where all pretty even in stacks and probibly pretty even skillwise. I believe that the guy who got 3rd fucked himself over royaly by taking the deal though.
This is my first big tourny cash so its fucking bananas! An awsome adition to my bankroll. My roll is close to 10k now which is what it was when i started my epic killer downswing.
I can now see 400nl over at the horizon and Im really looking forward at trying it out on party. A well, still a couple of grand to go.
Meh, at least NL 50 is easy.by RAHZero, February 03
Played about 850 hands at NL 50 this afternoon and finished up about $45 despite some guy cold-calling a raise and my 3-bet with 77 and flopping quads. Probably going to try and get in a session of NL 100 later on tonight.
Running good then hitting a brick wall (or 2)by XeliN, February 03
well last january i depositted $150 into stars. Grinded the new 6man $3 sit and gos till i had 350 then decided to risk going to 10c25c with less than 20 br. worked kinda well had swings but overall ended up with just under 600. poker was looking great stars were in my eyes (well $ signs). the my parents drop the "pay me back bomb" (car i was "given" with intention to pay them back. so that went into the shitter, or my dads wallet. then i thought ill give poker a break concentrate on work. i get a fair ammount of money in april so ill start it up then.
neway today (about 3 hours before writing this) my friend goes "wanna use my $40 on vc and see if you can grind it, if you get 1000 ill split 5050. unlikely but well again i was seeing $'s so i took the risked went with a rule of half buy in 1 table see if i can have some coinflipping luck. well to cut a long swingy story short (mostly upwards) i eneded up with $610 on a $5 $10 table 6max table with 4 sitting. At this point i thought "fuck yeh" and because they seemed very bad even at levels this high (just nitty soso nitty) anywho this hand came up dunno if i can import from there but i had A10 clubs and the button raised to me. often i would think about reraising there but because they were tighter than a nuns ..... i just called. flop was close to a dream 3410 clubs, i raised. was reraised (hmm im not folding this for half a buy in) i pushed, he takes ages then calls with AK 1 club. obv the turn is a king. dollars fall out of my eyes my erection turns limp small children die of sadness in africa (all figurative ). well anywho thought some people might like to read thought was fairly interesting.
I played some poker, but lost HH (because of problems with Postgres database I had to install XP). Overall played like 1.2k hands and won ~$40 , maybe a little more.
So I've been playing six max lately for no real reason other than to practice it and play against some stiffer competition. I've always been a FR player and I'm not too into the six max, but the sessions have been kind of interesting. Been at some tough tables I think. It's weird how many tables are just 6 multi tablers who always reload etc. I just find it odd because if there's no blatant dead money who's winning and who's losing? And don't they have the presence of mind to stay out of each other's way. 6max really is such an ego fest I think. Anyways, it's been going good so far. I'd say I'm playing a B/B+ game, which makes me wonder how well I'd do if I were playing my A game.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/141403 - I decided I could only beat a bluff, and people don't typically bluff that close to the pot size. Maybe a bad laydown though.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/141397 - This villain was a mega aggro style donk, I was actually thinking my A high was good, then his pause on the 4 flush made it pretty apparent he didn't like it. So of course I value bet.
Saw some familiar names at the tables. JonnyCosMo and Blizzy23 and such.
£2/£2 live session at Circus Casino/Manchesterby SneakrFreakr, February 03
So on Thursday I decided to play some live poker. Unfortunetaly the lowest stakes are £2/£2 so I'm underbankrolled for this game but it's soooo juicy that it would be stupid not to take advantage of it. I wanted to take £400 for two full buyins and if I lost them, I'd call it a day. But my damn credit card has a £200 daily withdrawal limit so I had only £200 with me. I decided to just buyin for £100. I don't like playing without the maximum buyin but I thought it was much safer.
So I got there about 11pm and I've been told that cash games would start about midnight (when one table from the rebuy tournament breaks - I don't like tournaments and the structure in these ones is crappy so I don't play them). I went to the bar, had a drink, read some Bluff Europe magazine and got back to the cardroom. Finally the game started and I was seated at my table. I recognized 2-3 players from the tournament when I finished 3rd but I didn't know anything about the others. Only 1 or two guys bought in for a full buyin so my £100 wasn't that bad. What's very strange about cash games in this casino is that the blinds are posted by a button and the person that should be a small blind. Has anyone heard about it before?
Anyway I was pretty much card dead for the first 3 hours. I won only one pot (with a c-bet on flop) and I haven't hit a single pair on the flop, not even a damn draw. It have never happened to me before. 62o, 93s, J4o all the time. Actually I got AK 4 times but haven't hit anything at all and c-betting more than 1 opponent in this game is pretty much throwing money away. After some time I finally started getting some hands. AQ, I raise pot (it was a pot limit game), 1 caller. Flop is Q high we both check. Turn is a blank I bet he folds. Few hands later my biggest pot this day took place.
I got KK in the middle position and two guys limped before me so I raised the pot (£12). Got 3 callers (SB + two limpers). Flop comes TJT. I'm a bit worried that one of them is actually holding a T but I decided to fire anyway. Pot was about £50 and I bet £35. SB calls and a blank comes on turn. Villain pushes for remaining £15 and I have to call. J comes on the river and I know that I'm in trouble. He shows Jx (can't remember his second hand). The other thing is that the guy that was sittin next to me said that he folded 4th jack preflop. I was down to £30-£40 and I continued playing. I though about rebuyin but I decided to try get back to £100+ with my shortstack. I managed to double up with QQ against the guy that rivered me before with a J. Won and lost a few small/medium pots and finished the session being up about £25. Not that bad if we consider how terribly I've been running this day. The opponents were terrible. Well except for one guy who was quite decent. He asked where am I from and after I said that I'm from Poland, he was saying "fuckin Lech Walesa" (former Polish president) all the time. I think there wasn't a single pot that was raised preflop and uncalled by anyone. At least 3-4 limpers per pot (plus SB and BB), terrible post flop play etc etc. I just can't wait for the Tuesday (cash games are only on Tuesdays and Thursday). This time I'll take a full buyin for sure. I also need to get a bigger roll so that I could feel there more comfortably (20buyins should be enough). Next Friday I'll try out a new casino that is supposed to have some lower stakes.
Yesterday I was too tired to post anything. I finished work at 4pm. Got home, ate a kebab (lamb > chicken and shish), went to bet about 5:30pm and woke up at 6:30am today. 13hrs of sleep and I was still soooo tired.
Now I'm gonna play online for about 3-4hrs and watch some tv later.
can people just post some weird screen names cuz i need a new name for AIM,,,thanks in advance...I wanted something with Fuck Yo Couch but I guess AIM doesnt let u use FUck or whatever...(I have used numerous combinations of it so idk)
Ok so I pretty much suck and moved down too NL50 again. I’m doing good (almost 4 bi’s in 600 hands) and I’m trying to play semi-LAG.
Vol. put $ in the pot: 37.46
PF raise: 29.48
Total AF: 6
Anyway, I think that this might help me learn some hand reading skills faster so it’s all good. I wrote a song too, I stole most of it from Harry Chapins “Cat’s in the cradle”.
Talanted Tom arrived just the other day
He raised the blinds in the usual way
But there were donkes to pwn and they are gay
They learned to pay when he came their way
And he was playing 'fore they knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be all-in dude,
You know I'm gonna be all-in"
And the Tom in the cradle and the raise button
Little stupid donk calls and he’ll bust soon
When you raiseing me Tom?
I don't know when, but it'll happen pretty soon, yea
You know it'll happen pretty soon
Talanted Tom turned a flush just the other day
He said, "Thanks for the monies, donk, come on let's play
Can you teach me to suck", it said "Not today
I got a lot to do", Tom said, "That's ok"
And he walked away but his smile never dimmed
And said, "I'm gonna be so rich, yeah
You know I'm gonna be so rich"
This is how i start my session today http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/141201
And this is how i end it http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/141203 he raised me all in after i raised three times in a row and i thougt he doesn't have much...
Yesterday i didn't played at all. It was slow all week but at least i'm not losing. I am used to this though
I'm not as ambitious as i was in 2006 but i'm as motivated as i was at the beggining.
Here is one spot to look at: http://maps.google.com It is cool to see every building, bridge or street on this planet from the satelite. There is much to explore there for me.
I've made an order at the beggining of january from the FPP Store on PS and i didn't get it yet. It's a digital camera, a chips set and a book. I can't wait...
Tomorow i will have a tough day and i don't think i'm going to play...
I played most of my beginning times at Stars, then moved to Full Tilt because of bonuses, etc. I then played UB for many months before trying out Stars again and I've had hand after hand just like the one below. I never saw this stuff at FTP or UB. I'm making more without the bonuses and rakeback just because of the fishy games.

Im still tearing it up on 200nl on partypoker. Im running well and the competition is a joke so it feels really good. Its amazing how partypoker can maintain such a skillwise horrible playerbase. Ill just show this hand to illustrate how some players on partypoker enjoy tossing money my way. I had no history what so ever with this guy:
Apart from one horrible bad beat session yesterday im crushing the games pretty well, running at 6,6ptbb/100 over a 7k sample playing 19/17/5
School has been pretty busy lately but its slowing down now. Just got an exam back, I was so sure I had failed but through some miracle I managed to pass it.
Ship it.
Bad news is, I have for several reasons no way to cash out any money atm and im going irl busto. I hope to have this shit sorted out after the weekend so I can continue my badass pimp lifestyle.
Hopefully I will be able to play alot this weekend, enjoying my new whack dual 19" monitor setup.
i'm up 6 buyins for the first time in 3 months... this feels good.
i'd like to mention that yomer hit and ran raszi which is why he's had this sick downswing. raszi has laid a curse that only lee jones can cure~ too bad lee jones agrees with raszi and refuses to cure yomer.
this week has been rather interesting... i've ran into two big names that are affiliated with LP~ Lurped and Rhaeger... i almost shit my pants : ( I'd like to say that i'm quite intimidated by the competition that is slowly starting to crawl around me. so... GET AWAY FROM ULTIMATE BET YOU SHITS!!!! THIS IS MY SITE!!!! GO BACK TO STARS WHERE YOU BELONG!!!!
It was rather fun playing with them~ it kinda showed where i am right now and where i need to be before i can play in the high stakes... sadly to say i think i'm quite far behind... i'm just beginning to lay down overpairs -_-;; maybe one day i'll be able to play at the 5/10, 10/20, 25/50~~~ after rekrul, nazgul, elky, aba20, straate, n0rthface, LURPED, ket, h@ll, pinball, pooruser, etc... etc... all die from a heart attack.
enough is enough...
this is all.
another great thing... me and shaneomac have kissed and made out! we have no more beef with eachother!!! YAYYYYY PEACE TO THE WORLD
When you play poker alot, and over a span of years, you spend alot of time reflecting on how you've grown.
I'm really proud in how far I've come along.
When people ask me what my best poker skill is, besides luck the answer is following my gut. 95% of the time I've second guessed my gut feeling and instincts, I've made the wrong decision.
Start respecting your instincts. You'll be surprised how smart you are.
Hi, my name is Jan 21 y. old, im from Slovakia, played starcraft for about 7 years. I haven't been posting much, I think I never posted anything on tl.net cause I was always afraid of being bitch-slapped. I never had any blog but I decided to try one here.
So it's 3:27 am, I decided to be awake and study this nite for my last exam, well I forgot to say Im studying university of economics for 4 years, but I failed my first year so Im just in 3rd grade. This is the worst exam I ever had, it's called informational economics. Basically this 60 years old fag, who doesnt even know what internet is, is trying to teach us how Slovakia is going to integrate into European Union. Besides that there is at least 200 pages of bullshit like inteligent houses, inteligent buildings etc... Maybe it doesn't sound bad to you but I really dont like to learn something I know I will never use ... ever.
I've been in US of A for 10 months as an exchange student. I was hoping that I'll live in big city like LA, but reallity was that I was stucked in small town in Idaho. I really liked way universities are in US, you know, studying what you want, so I was looking forward to study here in Slovakia. But reallity is that here when you leave school, you are just full of bullshit.
So anyway wish me luck (i've got like 2 more hours to memorize 60 pages), so that I will own that mofo .
oh by the way, im just another fish on 25nl fr on stars.
I've been playing with some of you guys already, maybe you noticed my weak/tight style
why after sending this email do I have a feeling my icon approval will be near instantaneous? Part of me in a way kinda hopes not tho - heres my email:
Call me superstitious, and call it silly, but ever since I changed my icon, and am waiting on approval, I have been on a horribly bad losing streak. I even knocked it down to my best type of game play which is heads up, and I lose more in a row since having no icon than I can ever remember. Yes I know, there must be some fault of the user...but what can u do when u get AA and get him all in and he wins (two diff hu), or u flop the str8 and he's on the draw, only to tie etc. I think 7 buyins, and 5-6 heads up matches in a row means something....theres some sort of sign there....variance usually doesn't swing that bad for me...and it all started since the silly icon thing. So anyhow, I came to the conclusion that I need some sort of break, at the very least, until I get the approval of my image. I really am not rushing you guys, I am just letting u know that this is what I am doing, and so really my gameplay at the moment on stars depends on you. Like the title says, call me superstitious, or reading to much into it, but I'm seeing signs of things, and am following them. Maybe I do need a week off poker Time will tell.
Sincerely
