Switched to NL100 3 days ago or so. Played about 6k hands today, and I came back from being down 600~ to being up 200~ which feels nice. Had some slight tilt in the middle but I realized it in time and tightened up until I'd calmed down (and I think I won a 150+ bb pot, which probably helped).

Barely played at all this summer (played a lot for the first 2 weeks of june, then not at all until a week or so into July, moved up to NL100 with 2499.42 - stars wouldn't let me reach 2500, I was within 50$ sooooo many times) but it feels good to be back!

Ok so I'm nearing the stage where I'll be moving up to 25NL soon (17bi's atm).
On party there is no NL10 6 max tables, so I'm thinking should I learn 6max and start playing that or keep grinding out FR?

Long term what is best for me? Is there good traffic FR at say 100 or 200NL?
I've read plenty of threads regarding the differences I just want to know some pros/cons, ie. will 6max make my postflop play better etc.

Okay i havent updated in quite a while.

Nothing special happend Pokerwise
I managed to build a big enough BR to start with the 5+.50 SNGS now and thats quite nice since i am totally fed up with the 1.75 $ ones.

I managed to make 149 $ out of 50 $ in ~ 220 SNGs
I am not sure if this is good or anything but i feel like i have the potential to make a lot more money

I also learned alot while watching the WSOP
-> always make prayer before calling or pushing with a dominated hand and your suckout chances increase 2 times !
no joke !

I Also donked alot thorugh different stakes to see how it feels to play them.

1.75 2 table
5.50 2table and 3 table
2 $ heads up
10+1 $ 2 table and 3 table

from my experience there is incredible amount of fish in all these stakes.

the 5.50 seem worse than the 1.75 $ playerwise.
I cant describe in words how bad some of the regulars of these stakes seem to be ...

i sharkscoped some of them and they were around - 40% Roi
Just degenerate gamblers that wanna put some money they earned in their jobs into the hands of Mother Luck

I feel within the last 2-3 weeks my game has improved a ton. There are a bunch of little things i have realized and applied into my game to make me both tougher to play against and a much bigger winner. Most of the stuff are some little things i have picked up from watching snap and genius play and talking things over with them.

I'm really interested in grinding and taking more shots at bigger games. I was thinking about how ive done so far this year and here are what i think my results are in online cash games (not positive cause ive missed a ton of hands on PT):

-5k at 2/4 nl
+40k at 3/6 nl
+5k at 5/10 nl
+15k at 10/20 nl (somehow erased all of the debt and won some, have been killing this on ftp lately, on like a 45k upswing there)
+110k at 25/50
+5k at 50/100 nl
-30k at 200/400 nl (horrible shot gone wrong, splitting action 3 ways)
-10k in limit holdem
-50k in plo
+0k in mtt/sng combined

overall i estimate im up about 80k in online this year. obviously i could be up a lot more if i hadnt played plo, limit holdem or taken a shot.


The shot at 200/400 was the worst ive ever run short term. Snap, yellowsub and i saw an insanely good game going with noataima, stilltippin, juanda, a shorty and cts (who would be on our right) so we sat and proceeded to lose JJ v AQ, 88 v AQ, top pair+flushdraw vs top pair better kicker and KK v AA to lose 85k overall. I'm convinced that in the softer games i would be a huge winner and im really interested in running up my online br to like 800k and taking shots.


PLO i started off really hot then started running bad and getting run over. I think i was a bit too tight and made some mistakes here and there. After i really cement my NL game im going to pull a brian townsend and play 3/6 and 5/10 plo for like 40k hands until im really confident im killing it and then do the same at 10/20 and 25/50 before moving to higher stakes.


Limit hold em i watched one of schneids video and watched my roommate steve play day in and day out but it still hasnt clicked for me yet. i really feel as if ive been running bad in it and playing a style that should be winning but isnt optimal, but i am going to put this on hold also until i really feel great about my nl game and am beating the higher games.


online MTT im really disappointed in myself. i really feel as if there arent 15 better online mtt players than myself but i have the worst db of all time. Im down 31k in mtt on stars and im probably about even on ftp. I am going to work really hard on my mtt game in the next few months for the wcoop and to get my profits in the black. i think what ill try and do is really work on my abc tournament game and when i get my desktop working ill 4 table cash on one screen and 4 table mtt mindlessly on the other screen.


in live mtt this summer i feel as if i ran horribly and really performed almost up to the best of my ability at the time, but im positive that i can improve and force better results even through running bad. im going to do a lot of thinking on what happened in the tournaments this summer and ill probably read the read em and reap book by hellmuth and the cia guy on live reads to try and pick up everything and anything i can on that.


im going to restart my PT database from august 1 out and really spend a lot of time studying each day after i play. im so motivated to be one of the best after being in vegas the last 2 months and watching all the big games and watching genius play. he is the most impressive player ive ever played against, talked with and sweated and i really feel as if the things ive seen have had a huge impact on what i can become as a player.


had to vent all this out, have an interesting story from the bank to tell, ill post that in a couple days

Yea, I ran bad and tilted some, decided to move back down to NL50. I don't get why NL50 feels soooooooooo easy, yet I'm struggling in NL100 :/. Anyways, I opened up my game and it worked out great, also I 4-6 tabled through the session instead of normal 8-12 table (that might affect it ;O).

Just played an amazing 7 hours of poker on PokerStars in a $5.50 Buy-in NLHE game (55434092). Came 2nd, feeling satisfied with the result, and 600 bucks richer. Will post more later, it's 5:27AM and sleep beckons.

My last two sessions have started with my playing well being up a buyin or so, and then hitting cooler after suckout after cooler. My brain isn't working now, so I'm gonna take a few days off to lick my wounds. The last 3 days erased the last week and a half of progress towards 50NL. BLAHHHHHHHH

Well, even though i'm doing ok at 200NL i still see wholes in my game that are fixable. Also, i'm still only playing between 7-12K hands per week which is sad in my opinion, because when i use to go to school (on break now) i use to play 20-24k hands per week, and now that i have all this free time i only play 7-12k. I've also been getting these head aches, and i think its eating pork. I think pork makes my brain feel like shit, so i'm not going to eat that anymore evern though its so delicious. I'm 6 tabling now, since i seem to be getting better results, so i think i'm going to start playing the fast 6 handed tables instead of the regular ones. Only cooler today was http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/234859 , and i told myself, its either he has 22 or i win cause that J dont change shit, plus i'm not folding to any turn card anyways.

Well July is going by fast and Ive been getting in a lot of hands for me. I was running amazing to start the month but have cooled off and havent been running the greatest..
