| | Aruba - Day 1 again by MezmerizePLZ, September 28
So after the airport told me that i would have to go back through security he told us we could just split the $ up between the 3 of us, which we did. We got on the plane which was going to leave at 6:20 ish, but got delayed for another flight that had alot of passengers that were going to be on the plane. Brymstar met up with us on the plane along with tons of other poker players that were taking the same flight. (i didn't really ask who any of them where, although apestyles was on our flight). The flight was long but we got to aruba without much trouble. Doomer is apparently retarded and thought the airport lost his luggage, only to report that it was lost, and me and derric bet 3:1 odds that he would get his bag back by the end of the night. I won the bet when doomer found his bag on the bag claim thing which apparently was a different color than he thought it was. We got a cab after awhile and took like an hour to find our house since apparently streets don't have names in aruba, or at least not in the place where we are staying. The house is pretty nice but there is no food and we were all starving. we did a toast with some long island ice teas and then headed off in another taxi to find food. We went to the radisson where i put 1k on black and won, but apparently they don't serve food or something unless you order room service while your playing poker. We took another cab over to a 24 hr restuarant and ate. and now we're back at the house. i'm pretty exhausted and i think all of us had pretty long travel time. hopefully some more interesting things will happen but as of now thats all thats happend.

| | Aruba - Day 1 by MezmerizePLZ, September 28
Basically this day was designated toward traveling to Aruba. I woke up at about 5:00am and got to the airport at 6:20ish, my plane didn't leave until 8:20 but I wanted to get there early to find out about traveling with a lot of $. They told me to declare it at my layover in miami, so I took my flight and got into miami at 2:00 (12:00 colorado time). Doomer got to Miami pretty soon after me and we wandered around the retarded miami airport for awhile until derek showed up at about 4;00. At the airport they told me to declare the $ i would have to.. continued later taxi is here to the radison

| | Tournament play by phexac, September 28
So far I have not spoken at all about tournaments, even though I have been playing quite a few of them recently. The tournaments I play most often are $22.00 180-man SNGs on Stars, the daily $50,0000 ($55 buyin), $3.30+R $25,000 Gtd. on Stars, and random other tournaments that I are there at the right time for me.
Generally, I have done well, though my sample size is very small at the moment (only 95 MTTs in my recent database). I cash in roughly 20% of large field MTTs and over the 95 MTTs I have played, I am up about $1100 at an ROI of 56%. The reason for this post, however, is that I should have done a lot better. Today's incident at $11+R $45,000 Gtd. on Stars is what prompted me to make this post.
I picked up a few good hands during the rebuy round and managed to take down 2 big pots early on, shooting me up to 20,000 chips by the end of the first hour. I added another 2,000 chips during the addon break and entered the freeze-out stage with a stack of 22,000, ranked in the top 30 of the remaining 1000 players. Over the course of the next two hours, I greadually built up my stack by being selectively aggressive and getting my good hands paid off. At 3rd break, I was sitting on 96,000 chips, and with about 150 people left (top 225 paid), I was 18th in chip position. Easy coasting to the top, right?
After the break the blinds were 800/1600/150. With over 50 big blinds, I had plenty of time to continue being selectively aggressive while waiting to catch good hands. Instead the following takes place:
1. A player at my table whose stack was about same size as mine and who has been playing 22/20 and getting more and more aggressive as his stack grew, raised from UTG+1. I found myself holding TT in the blind. Now, when you are a big stack this deep and facing an opponent whose stack is big enough to bust you, TT is NOT a PF hand. The correct move, and one that I will make 4 times out of 5 is to call and continue playing post-flop. Instead, I 3bet, making it 25,000. The villain immediately pushes all-in, leaving me no choice but to fold, as his range there means I would either be flipping against 2 overcards or be dominated by a bigger pair. I fold. 25,000 down the drain, without even getting a chance at the flop.
2. I am down to 65,000 after the TT hand. Blinds have gone up and are now 1000/2000/200. I still I have over 30 big blinds and have plenty of time to play selectively. the villain from the TT hand, thanks to my 25k is sitting comfortably on 125k chips 2 seats to my left and keep turning up the aggression when I pick up QTo 2 off the button, with said villain on the button. I raise to 5,000, the villain 3 bets me to 15,000. Easy fold, no problem. BUT, just as I am thinking that, the warrior in me wakes up and pushes all-in. The villain calls with AK, my QT does not catch the 1-in-3 chance to beat the AK and I bust around 100th place, with about $100 to show for my troubles.
This has happened to me several times in the past. I am doing well and can take my time and play my own game. Instead, I make a rash decision or two that go against my typical selective style and bust out way before I should. So my goal for the next few weeks is to control this emotional rush I get and keep playing my game throughout the tournament. Every time I feel this emotional rush hit (I have learned to recognize it) I will make a conscious choice to slow down and rethink my play before acting.
This weekend I will be playing several tournaments where I put this idea to the test:
1. The monthly 100k freeroll for Gold Star+ VIP
2. The weekly 20k 100FPP freeroll
3. The daily 50k $55
4. $3.30+R
5. $11+R
6. $22.00 - 180 Man SNGs maybe
I will make a post detailing how these go. I do well in tournaments right now, but I need to eliminate a few leaks to take it to the next level.

| | Just cant do this anymore... by gawdawaful, September 28
Today was another nightmare day. I was up a solid 5buyins playing 6 max, ended that session up just over 2buyins. I think the key hands were KK vs AA for 140bbs, bottom set vs over pair vs nut straight in a 3 bet pot, and something else.
After that I took a shower and fucked around for a bit and played a bit of heads up before dinner.. bad idea. Card rack at .5/1 hu beat me for 3 buyins. Some key hands, flush over flush, trips lost to kicker (168bbs deep), 3 bet pot, runner runner flush for him.
The 200NL heads up went no better. Some random fish I stacked at 50NL (very weak tight but semi crazy with bluffs) wanted to play. After grinding him down, he 3 bet me against my QQ and I called, flopped AXT. Flop went check check, turn another T, he bets something like $15 into 40+ so I called. He shoved river and showed 24 or some random shit after I tossed. So by this point I knew hes retarded. We ended up getting it in all in preflop JJ vs his A3, and he flops a straight. End result heads up? -363
After dinner, came back for a 6max session. 351 hands, down 325. 2 pair lost to 2 pair, set over set the very next hand (same guy) and he leaves within an orbit after. Then AA lose to QQ in a 3 bet pot. QKdd flops TdJd and random rag, get it all in vs AJ, no help came. Same monkey beats my KK with QK later for another small pot. This is my graph for today
http://www.sitefights.com/community/art/gawdawaful//today.jpg
This is the graph for since I've been back (3 days total)
http://www.sitefights.com/community/art/gawdawaful//3days.jpg
This month I'm down about $2600.
Plan? I'm going to cash out whatever amount I have over say, $2000. I'll leave $1000 just sitting there as safety and grind 50nl. When I score $1k profit from 50nl, I'll come back to 100.
Another beat? USD is deflating and I wont even get $1:$1 on my cashout.
Sick fucking life.

| | Great times at NL100 by Oddeye, September 28
Surprisingly the switch from NL25 to NL50 took me longer than switching NL50 to NL100. I had bad beats but it was mixed up, some cold run but I kept going on. Well now I have 4.5K and some sexy .75K RB, I'm not sure if I should switch NL200 any soon or not, 6K would probably be a nice amount to move on. I wanted to post my graph or my stats but oh well in another post maybe.
School is boring as hell but now it's weekend so have fun and smoke good weed

| | 25nl on stars by wolfheart, September 28
played little 1300h session on stars 6 tables man this is rough. U see so many retarded plays there what i am no clue how to react. PPl front probe bet vs raiser then get raised and then minraise back. Then check and they minraise bet again. Nonone absolutely folds hand before river if they have some pair. If u get set then pot pot pot and profit.
Dunno my stats were 26% seen flops on 10nl while it was 15% on 25nl. Cont bets almost absolutely dont work they will call flops with anything or ace high and then u check they will fire. Definately have to work 3betting there. Not just with AK KK QQ.
Sesson started bad KK vs AA AA vs donk QT flop 2 pair etc. Went down for 3.5bis and finished session 10$ up.
They all want to see flops. Its not rare then 6 ppl come in for 1.5$ and then crazinessss starts

| | I Just Started! by SugoGosu, September 28
Alright, so I admit it, I am a complete noob at poker. I am probably worse than those who would do mass cannon on LT. I would end up not even knowing where the damn minerals are. (All a metaphor to how bad I am)
So, I started out by having a friend transfer me $20 and after a few days, I have moved it up to about $20.50 Yeah, I'm that good! I'm a winning player at 1c/2c by $0.50 I can officially have a gum ball out of my first online poker making.
I'm 18, and I am really motivated to learn.
I think my biggest flaw in poker is that I am still give my opponent the benefit of the doubt on beating me. Even if I have a good hand, and I have position.
I one day want to be good, and have stories like everyone else here. 1c/2c is fun definitely. Yet I just sit with my jaw open when I see people with blinds bigger than my entire $20.50 bankroll.
I'm trying to put about 3 hours every day into my playing, and post hands here on Liquidpoker to see what I could have done better, and in return improve my game.
So hello everyone, and get ready to be owned in a year or two at 2c/5c

| | Almost there by beethreekay, September 28
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd230/beethreekay/28092007.jpg
This session got my online roll up to $470, so I'm really close to moving back to 25NL. I feel I've adjusted properly to the game conditions at 10NL, and I find I don't really have that many tough decisions (except PF, where I feel I might be giving people too much respect and laying down biggish hands like JJ to people overplaying AK or worse Aces).
I felt this session was solid enough, although I'm not thrilled with how I played (giving up a stack too easily on at least two occasions).
Here are some of the important hands:
Winners
-------
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283040 - I got berated in the chat box for chasing this, but I don't think I played it all that bad. The PF call is because we were both deep enough, I was getting almost 4-1 on the flop, I picked up the gutshot draw on the turn meaning I was 3-1 to win getting 2-1 odds with the necessary implied odds given how little he had left behind, and I shoved the river because he could easily have checked behind given how the obvious draw hit
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283053 - Donation #1
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283062 - Donation #2, although I don't think I should be playing KK this fast on this board
Losers
------
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283051 - Kinda spewy on my part. In retrospect, the check-minraise is always a monster at microstakes
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283058 - I felt KJ & KT were in his range, but probably not a +EV push. I really struggle to fold top pair in blind vs. blind situations, which I think is a big leak on my part
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/283060 - Standard or spew?
Comments on all hands very much welcome.
