| | massive party tonight by SneakrFreakr, October 05
Bleh, I'm still a bit drunk from yesterday and I've got an exam in like 2 hours. Yesterday I went to my friend's flat, we drank there and then went out to some club. Music was pretty nice but there weren't many people inside but at least the drinks were semi cheap. When I came back there was a a big party at my flat so I drank a bit more and went to bed. Woke up thirsty as hell. Realized that I can't go to bed again cause I won't wake up for the exam.
Tonight I'm going to a MASSIVE party at my friends' house. So far like 200 people were invited and everyone is allowed to bring everyone. One guy said he's bringing about 40-50 peoplez. So even if 1/3 of invited people come there should be about 100 peoplez. Sick. We're gonna have some mad fun.

I also played some poker since the last post and I dunno why but even though I get coolered and outdrawn all the time I I'm still winning.

| | Two more satisfactory sessions by T8Suited, October 05
Made almost $600 on this day. Early norning session was a huge grind. The evening session was more prolific money-wise.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1329/1488030181_4ee7bc465c_o.jpg
Morning session:
Play wasn't bad. I just couldn't get into a roll. Lost a 200BB pot with an underset. Lost another buy-in+ with a weirdly-played JJ hand. Lost 2 moderate pots to bad beats. You know not everything went smoothly when 64 suited was your winningest hand.
Bad beat
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287503 KK suckout against #1. A 12-outer, so it wasn't that gross.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287504 AQd Once the big-stack got out I decided to felt this. Got an instant call and got hit right between the eyeballs.
Pwned
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287506 JJ At the time I was only afraid of UTG, and I already decided to push if he showed weakness.
Coolered
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287507 66 I was hoping opponent was overplaying top pair good kicker. WRONG.
Big defensive plays
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287508 AA I guess I could take solace on good damage control
Big wins
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287510 22 Reraised pot, dream situation
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287511 64h Should've folded to the UTG raise
Evening session: Almost 9 PTBB/100 hands are nice. Preflop was quite loose, but I didn't get into many post-flop mess. Although there were 2 or 3 spots when I missed quite a bit of value. Let's not overlook these mistakes amidst success.
Big win:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288134 88 Sadly this was the biggest pot for me on this night. And it didn't come without scare.
Bad beat
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288144 AA Disregard the suckout -- the limp reraise still works at this level
Big defensive plays
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288113 KK Don't think KsKd is good 5-handed on a all-heart flop, against a surprising flop lead
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288093 KK Another disaster averted whew good displine on my part
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288166 AQ No point raising when my hand was obvious as hell
Big Bluff
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288064 44 Opponent is a nitty regular. I wasn't calling down trying to catch a set.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288099 AKh Getting an opponent to fold QQ/JJ (that's what he admitted afterwards)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288119 AQs 3 half-pot bets by my opponent didn't convince me he's got a strong hand, so I threw in a river check-raise with my missed spades.
Missed value
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288135 33 I was afraid opponent will check-fold his apparent TP/overpair on turn if I put in another strong bet. It didn't help that the river was a heart.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/288136 52d Significant missed value in this one. My weak-tight self made me think opponent was on a better diamond draw.

| | Backround and restarting... by WilsWils, October 04
Hai blog creepers and LP'ers. I've been a long time creeper and decided thats too much work, and emo blogs are fun to post bad beats and whine in
I've been pokering for about 3 years , but as far as online went
2 years ago
i deposited 50, grinded 6$ sngs on stars till i hit 300$, cashed that out cause i didnt give a fuck about BR, hell i didnt even know what br was back then
1 year ago
Played on stars actually trying to get good at cash, 4 tabled 10NL to hit a BR of 500, again, i didnt know anything about BR and mainly did what my other friend (MT's PLO 1/2 on stars) and opened up a bunch of tables and played tight.
Flash to 6 months ago in the summer, i deposited 300 onto FTP after i found out what rake back was (I GET MY MONEY BACK? LOL YES PLZ.). From there i grinded the 300 + (not including the 100% bonus) up to 1800 BR. For some reason i decided at this point to try out stars again
Soooooo once i moved the 1800 BR to stars, i took a couple shots @ 100NL. met some marginal success but then went on a downswing (moved down after losing 1 BI @ 100NL) on the 50NL tables, dropping >20< BI's over 5k hands. It wasn't spew or anything, had a couple of experienced grinder friends on stars / ftp review some big hands, was just horrible variance really -_-;; (Flopped flush AIOF vs Set runner runner fh, KKVAA AAVKK standard bad luck stuff).... now, i had never run this bad before so it was quite a shock to me, i guess you could say i hit poker depression and started feeling scared to play my usual game (BUT WHAT IF I GET DRAWN OUT AGAIN I BETTER JUST FOLD HERE AND WAIT FOR A BETTER THAN 80/20 SPOT)
anyways, i ended up dropping further after coming back after a 3 week break, and ended up getting into more downswing-goodness and ended up dropping to a shitty 250$ BR. (moved down to 25NL @ 500 where i ate some more bad beats + a couple bad plays)
So here i am, moved back the 250 roll to FTP to start grinding micro. I think i'm better at SNG's, but i just find it waaay too much of a grind (10 straight SNG loss downswings are standard stuff, but man they're boring when u
bubble them -_-)
Am going to be investing in PT and PAhud when i get the $. (keeping my rl money and poker money totally seperate, therefore id rather not spend half my BR buying PT / PAHUD)
but thank you for taking the time to read this, i'll be on FTP grinding FR 25NL X 5 tables under this nick so feel free to roll me with some bad beats so i can post them on this blog (LOL 15'' LAPTOP MONITOR SO UNBALLER.)

| | The Adventure Begins by ipwndonks, October 04
Hi all,
First a little background on me. I am in my sr. year in high school hoping to get a solid poker background before college. I've played a few months (read a lot of books before I turned 18 and still reading), and starting out using play money then using transfers through some friends to start out real. I went busto quite a lot, twice after having $250 in my account. I then was able to work up to $750, but quickly lost $300 playing 1/2 limit. After tilting away more at stud, I find myself at about $322.88. Now, I have pokertracker and PAHUD and am going to seriously grind it out at the micros. I plan on moving to 25NL at $500 and 50NL at $1000. I am currently multi tabling 4 tables, but hope to add more in the future. Every day I play I will post results, hands, and PT stats (likely I won't be able to play every day, but I still hope to get in at least 3-4 times per week). I figured a blog would help me in evaluating my game. Now, here begins the journey!

My theory is that is all part of my "welcome to rednines"-upswing. Of course it's all in my head...online poker is not rigged, but it's nice to run good when you switch sites. Who knows, I might switch every two weeks...
Rednines has shipped me 8 buy ins in the first 1,1k hands, which is pretty nice. (I also got a nice welcome to party poker upswing with +6 BIs in 350 hands)
My shot taking at NL200 has not worked how I hoped it would, so I'm down in October so far.
However I'm very glad how Poker is going for me lately. I had my biggest ever winning month in September. (started with 3k, ended with 8,5k)
Unfortunately that will be my biggest winning month for quite a while .
I'm already properly rolled for NL200. However, I'm still gonna stay at NL100 until I'm a bit more comfortable at Rednines. The software really takes some getting used to.
P.S.
bought a new monitor. It's a 22" widescreen from LG
http://blog.chip.de/schnaeppchen-blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/lg-l226wtq.jpg
I was not really satisfied with my old 17" medion, but this will do for a while. Party/Stars tables fit quite alright. Unfortunately the Red9 tables are rather large and not resizable (the sorta miniview is not really a valid option), so I have a little overlap, but it's quite alright. I wouldnt wanna play there on a smaller monitor though.
That's it so far.
Thx for listening

| | Live poker yestrday.. by Question, October 04
I went to live poker yestday to Prague poker club called "suited aces poker club".I registred to 500Kc freezeout (around 30 USD).Tourney was played by 36 ppl and it was quite turbo beacause blinds are double up every twenty minutes.I played very good and i reached finnal table.Second or third hand i was UTG + 3 shortstack before me raise 3big blids (1/2 of him stack..) I loked up to my cards and i have Kc Kh i reraised 3times his bet,but little deep stack on button push all in,short stack call and me too.Shortstack had Ad Qc and other player had 8s 8d Flop comes something like 5d 5c Qs turn another 5-> 5s a river something like 7c so i tripled up and i become to chipleader. When i was in the money (4 places paid) turnament become just about luck because blinds was 5000/10000 and stack something like i have 30000 my friend headis 60000 and some fish around 30000 too so pure about luck. And i was unlucky so i finished third )I won 2500 Kc (250 USD) so i went to cash game 10/20KC NL (0.5/1 USD).It was quite borning because dealer was slow and everybody was drunked, but i have some good fishes at table.I played just 2 hands first was ehen i post big blind and i have 2d 2c 5 players lipmed and check flop comes Ac Jh 7c and everybodey checks, turn was 2s i frontbeted pot size bet and one villain called me.River comes 3c and he bets 1/2 of pot and I JUST CALL omg......because was little scared about flush..Next hand was aganid limped multiway and i again was on big blind with 8s Jh flop was: As 8d 8c i fronbeted pot size bet and one guy called, turn was some card and i check he bets 150 Kc (15USD) to 40usd pot so i raised him to 40 USD and he makes 80USD (wtf?) so i push ¨him all in (around 150 USD we was little deepstacked) and he folds...So it was good day i won some money, meet my friends, played some good poker and drunked little bit Next time (Sunday maybe) i will make some photos.
Sorry for mistakes

| | Pwning NL100ers, 4ths session in a row by T8Suited, October 03
Actually I wasn't. The money kept rolling in, but my plays were suboptimal.
Leaks
1) VPIP = 19. Kind of high. Higher than my usual 16-17. Especially when I am 8-tabling, 2 more than how many I usually play. Too much cold-call preflop with suited crap
2) AF -- horrible. I don't care about PF AF, but the 3 post-flop numbers of 2.1 / 1.1 / 1.1 are all cut by ~1 from my usual numbers. I almost felt like a calling station
3) Getting complacent. For what -- flopping straights and hitting my draws? Leading to me making carefree, spewtard, expensive postflop mistakes (vide supra)

Hands
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/287346 A9h I didn't get his weak turn raise. Is that for value? Didn't seem like it. I decided he was drawing as well and accepted his somewhat cheap showdown.
