I ran into a lot of trap-happy opponents who like to cold-call preflop raises with big Aces and big pairs. As a result I modified my preflop strategy -- I raised way many more suited connectors/suited crap and way fewer big offsuit cards AQ/AJ/KQ.

I ended up overdoing things -- playing way too many hands (notice high VPIP), finding people paying back at my preflop raises, putting myself on tilt, ended up losing a stack with a reckless bluff. Fortunately I was able to stop the bleeding there. I calmed down, tightened up, played some solid poker and got back into the green with a huge cooler against a regular that I respect.

Saturday night I played much tighter than I usually do. The night followed a similar course as the previous night.

down over 5 buyins today, just unreal, cudnt win a hand. No exaggeration they would float the flop with complete air, then hit a pair on the turn, then hit 2pair on the river, it happened over and over and over and i just cudnt do anything about it. All the money in on the turn as 85%++ favourite and i lost everytime near enuff.

Poker EV says my net run was -4 buyins but thats a load of bullshit since i had to pay off their shitty 20% of the pot shoves on the river after they hit their 10% chance shots.

Whatever, cba. I played well, got my money in ahead, i cant do anything else. Just tilts me that i lose all my money to these fuckers.

On the up side had a great night last night, dressed as the joker.

October went well for me...kind of.

I made just over $3,500 on from MTTs. I was playing mostly the daily 50k, $22+1R+1A that starts at 2:15 EST every day, and some other random MTTs. One thing that I found to be quite profitable is playing Sunday million Sats. The compeition is very soft and it is quite easy to win. Even if you do not, there are usually a couple of places that give you your buyin back, so it's a pretty safe investment if you are even semi-competent. I am busy Sundays so I cannot play in the million, so I just use the T$ to buyin into the tourneys I do play.

Ring game, on the other hand was quite dreadful. I started of the month with 20 buyin downswing at NL100, and had a few more bad runs along the way. I finished up $100 (lol?) for the month over about 40k hands. Basically every setup and bad beat that could happen did happen, and every flip went the other way...and it's actually still continuing in November. With FPPs, bonus, and rakeback though, I am about $1,000 up in the ring, so it's not as bad as it sounds.

My plan for November is to get my ring games back into gear. Once I feel the downstreak is over and am up about 20 buyings for the month, I will move up to NL200. I easily have the bankroll for it now, but I think it's a bad idea to move up when you have been on a bad run for a while.

Right now, I am playing PCA steps, starting with step 3 ($82.00 buyin). I am playing well, but some key bad beats and lost flips have kept me from moving past step 5 so far. I think I can reasonably expect to win a seat at the cost of about $800-$1,500 but we all know what those estimates are worth ahead of time.

Overall, October was about a $4,000 and another $500 or so worth in FPP on Stars. I am now Platinum VIP, so I get a quite decent return when I play there. I plan on maintaining that and making Supernova next year. I plan on spending FPPs on tourney buyins. I emailed Stars support about allowing to use FPPs to buyin into other tourneys (such as the daily 50k). Hopefully they listen.

My goal for November is to top October winnings, but for that I need to first get my ring games under control. Good luck to me.

I don't know how I can have made it to 8k and be at 2k by now but whatever this is basically the fact. I wish my blog wasn't all about whining but I can't say I'm happy with the result.

I gave a try to improve my leaks, I'm still doing it but sometimes trying isn't enough.

Oh guys I feel so depressed... it'll obviously fuck up my school very bad I have big exams coming.

No more weed and I'm getting drunk, but it isn't even fun.

Also, I have a question for those reading, on Pokerstars, I went to Requests > Hand History > Hands in the last 10 hours to get all of the hands I played today. While I was doing this, I had about 456 hands in my current session, however in my email I only got 200. How do I get all of the hands I have played?

Halloween was pretty awesome down here for the most part (probably because it was before my car got broken into), I ment to do this blog post earlier, but I felt I had to share the busto car and stolen laptop asap. Anyways, last saturday Myth and FrinkX left early in the morning and I spent most of the day trying to figure out what I should be for Halloween. Normally I would come as an asian tourist (Put on my hawaiian shirt, wear super short shorts, have a fanny pack on my hip, road map in my back pocket, and a big camera around my neck), but I felt I needed to change it up this year and get a little more creative. I've known Mike for years (went to the same high school together, same on same swim team, etc...). Recently he's become totally obsessed with going to the gym. He basically puts off hanging out with me now because he has to make time to work out. Total flake (Even worse than me, and I'm a pretty bad flake)! So this year I decided to give him a little more motivation to come out and party with us... I was going to be him! Found a muscle shirt (literally a shirt with muscles on it) nunchucks (since my friend Mike does Jujitsu since he wants to become a bouncer at some bar) and put a skin tight shirt over the muscle shirt (yes it got a little warm). So we did a ton of pre drinking on saturday before heading to the Tavern in PB, which is such an awesome bar. The entire PB strip was totally packed, with every bar having a 1+ hour long lines. No worries, my friends know the bouncers to like every bar so we got insta-shipped into Tavern, no wait, so ez. Woke up with a terrible hang over on Sunday.

On Halloween I dressed up as the same thing and the plan was to head to Typhoon on the PB strip. Halloween was just insane on the strip, and even though we knew the bouncer at Typhoon he made us wait in the VIP line (which took like 15 mins). Lame, I don't wait, it's -EV yo~ Anyways while I was waiting in line with my friend a young guy comes up to me and is like "JonnyCosMo?"... I'm like "lol what? Yeah that's me", it was non other than traxamillion from LP.net. Wow talk about random. So we talked for like a minute, we were both pretty smashed at the time, and he left to some other bar but it was nice to see a fellow LPer in SD. Inside Typhoon it was pretty crazy for the most part, saw some pretty crazy costumes, the sweetest part was that I spent $5 the entire night yet I got 6 drinks inside the bar? played a big session today since i didnt play much poker this week.

Started absolutely horrible !
i got sucked out and coolerd like there is no tomorrow the first 300 hands and was down 80 $

mainly same scenario

I get KK AA or QQ and 3 bet preflop
get a call from shit like 67 or 44

and villian flops the nutz ... i pay off with a full stack
happend 4 times the first 200 hands.
i posted some of it in the hand section.

then there was some wired 3 handed game.
where i run into KK vs QQ vs KJ ... lol

Yeha overall the session was very shitty
Lots of bad beats , coolers and some bad play of me when i started to lose focus.

but i kept going forcing myself to concentrate and trusting my postflop skill edge will
pay of in the long run.
