I love 25NL by Ezekiell, January 24

Today i played only 25NL. It went quite well:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/e541614e7fcd6f261dbfba0df08c4c4f.jpg

In the middle of the session u can see a fuckin big hole. 2 hands: AA vs KK, and KK vs 9To simulteanously. Obv i lost both of them... After that, it happened again: KK vs AA, and 9To vs AA, but this time i was on the winning side. Variance, he? Anyway, i played good, so nothing to complain about.

I still want to move from UB, any suggestions?

I've completed my last exam for this semester, so i'm free for a week. I plan to play ~2000 hands a day. Wish me good luck!

LIVE ! by Sheitan, January 24

Okayy so i couldn't help myself, i had to go to the casino and see the new electronic table of poker. I had a plan: use a solid br management, so i bought in for half a bi at nl200.

First, lemme say that room kicks ass, never seen any other poker room, but this one was awesome. Yesterday we went with my lady and i just wanted to see what live looks like, and god is it soft.

Everything is electronic so i had to make a card and swap it so i could line up for the table, i waited like 10 minutes when i could see my name flashing on the screen, table 4 seat 5. I took my place and i really have to say i love it, seriously. I find it better than online, you can talk to the people at the table, have fun and really think about every hand, it's loooooooonnng but very fun. Or maybe it's because it's my first time ?

Anyway i bought for 100$ and the table was sick soft, i have 1 decent player on my right and 1 aggressive obv internet young player on my left, rest of the table is a mix of weak passive stations and donks.

So the first orbits i try to get used to the screen, you have to confirm every move, this is not a bad thing and avoid "misclick", funny part is you have an all-in button and you can use it to scare the shit out of people. I checked/raised all-in and tried to catch some reaction in many occasions.

Sooo, my plan was to play very TAG, with only half a bi i'd not make any move at all, don't abuse position and hope i hit a good run of card.

After a dozen of hands i fold i get AJs on position, already 3 limpers in the hand, i raise it to 14$, 1 fold, 1 call, 1 fold. Board came QT5 rainbow, he checked i cbet for 20$, he goes all-in. I fold after taking some time, he showed 44.

Nothing exciting happened before this hand, im utg+1 and i get dealt AKdd, loose player utg raised to 8$, i repop him to 24$, everybody folds and he called me. At this point i have like 50 bucks behind and he has 500$. Flop came ATJ with no flush, he tank for a while and checked, i bet 30 and by doing so im pot committed obviously. He started talking to me on what kind of hand i have and why i reraised him pre and maybe i had pocket aces then suddenly goes all-in.

In my mind it was obvious i was beat here, but this was also an automatic call, i only had 20 bucks left and i do hit the board, even if it was ugly and i was 110% beat it was a crying call. I called.

He showed JJ and i was already packing, turn is a Q. GG suckout, he tilted hard and berating me for calling such a board and i didn't even bother explaining i was pot committed and he should have front bet if he wanted me to fold and not check/raise me ai because if i bet, i have to call my last 20$. SOoooo im up to 150$.

This guy was tilting and it affected his play, he later gets involved in a pot with a donkey who was running like Jesus Christ wearing Reeboks air max Jordan, action was he raise pre and got called by donk, flop came TJ5, he checked the flop, donkey bet, he called, turn is an A, he pot the turn, donkey insta-shoved and he called, they were both 2 bis deep. Donkey showed KQo, he had TT, he stand up calmly and said something like "Fucking card rakes sob" very low and thrown his chair back in position.

He was playing so bad and he didnt even realized it, even if he play the hand good against me, checking the flop against this guy then calling an ai was so stupid. I keep folding hands and get used to the screen. Nothing noticable except some people just run good at this game and i wish i had a rush like them sometimes.

Donkey who stacked that guy in the previous hand is involved with an other donkey at the table, he stacked him also with KK , the other fish who was an old guy had TT and went broke on a K high board -_- for 200bb.

I was stunned, they were playing so so bad and i praised Lee and god for a good hand. And that's when i got QQ in EP, i raised it, got 2 callers + 1 caller from the SB who was a very decent player (he had 500$ and was doing chips trick so i assumed he was very good). Flop went A-8-Q, poker pro checked i bet 2/3 of the pot, fold, fold, back to him he insta called. I was like hu-ho, he's drawing to a str8 since there was no flush on board and i highly doubt he was slowplaying aces. I really hope he had bot set but i really put him on a draw. Turn is a brick, he checked and i bet 100$ in the 125$ pot. i sensed he was staring at me trying to get a read or whatever, he spoke to me but i didn t answered, i never answer i just stare at my screen with my cap covering my eyes and i just never answer.

My heart was accelereating so fast, it was a big pot and even if i knew i was ahead i could not stop the stress. He tank for a long long time (there are no timers) and said something like "Give me my out plz !" and called. Was he using reverse psychology ? maybe he was trapping me with aces but i was 99.9999% sure he wasn't. Maybe he was trying to get a cheap showdown and had top pair with a bad kicker but again, i didn't think so.

River is a 9, completing a str8, he immediately checked and a 9 could definitly be one of his out. Pot was like 325$ and i checked behind, he mucked and i raked the pot. Dunno if my check was correct but i've been thinking about it and came to the conclusion it was pretty bad, i should have bet like 1/3-1/2 of the pot to extract value from Top pair, 2 pairs or bot set, he really talked me out of a vbet on river.

Anyway i 4x my initial bi and was pretty satisfied with that, i asked some guy on my left if you had to buy in for the same amount when you leave a table, he told me no and i should exploit it giving a look at my stack, he said "I will abuse it too, you should leave and buy in for 200". I left the table and went to dinner with my wife, she spent like 100$ in the damn machines (mental note:don't bring her with me next time).

I registered again for nl200 and had to wait like an hour it was 8 pm and the room was starting to get very populated. I got assigned the same table but nothing happened for 4 hours, i kept folding rags, got AJ/AQ and raked the pot with a cbet on flop, stacked 2 shortstacks with pocket 9s and flopped top two. minus rake minus blinds i broke even for the second session.

One guy on the table went nut because he got sucked out on and started to threat the other guy and i don't know if you guys played world of warcraft but what followed reminded me the Stormwind guards when you're Horde and get deep into the city... A bus of security guards came out of nowhere to surround the old fat tilting monkey and they got him out of the room. It was midnight and time to go back home with a nice 400$ profit.

I'll maybe go back today since it was really fun and i really want to go there during week ends, games are soft during the week, i can't imagine during week end and when the gamblers are out.

Peace out.

Day 1 NL10 6-max by OrcsAreSexy, January 24

Survived day one since moving up to NL10. Had a few down swings, but kept managing to grind them back up quickly. Added a few 3.25 6max turbo sngs to my line up, these things are like free money, avoid the luck boxes and let them not each other out. With the help of some friends, I've been able to patch up a few holes in my game such as chasing draws with not so great pot odds, over valuing implied odds and trying to defend from blinds.

Ran super disgustingly bad. by TheHuHu, January 24

Just dropped 12 buy-ins at NL50...many big pots were coolers / suckouts. I wasn't even tilted. My top two ran into sets, my flushes got rivered by villains FH... Going to drop down to NL25 for a while even though I am still rolled for NL50.

very break even day by whamm!, January 24

today was kinda stupid. made a lot of tilted calldowns. i think it has something to do with me being up 2 1/2 buyins early in the session. plus the fact that neillyaa isnt replying to my msgs regarding the 44bucks he promised to pay today. i feel cheated and stupid today, and it cost me 170usd total. as to the session im up like 20 dollars, lol. taking shots at 100nl which is really not as hard as it seems, people there are like well rolled unlike 50nl nits who just came out of 25nl and are afraid to lose money hehe. it helps that im very very rolled for this limit so losing doesnt really affect me, especially after ive already shouted at my monitor lol
i wont show my pt today coz its really hideous. ill try and play again later, things might turn up and im not tilted anymore. now if only neilly would pay me...thatd be bring me good luck for sure. haha

update: won 3bi to close the day at my second session
played mostly 100nl and 50nl 12 to 18 tabling ran pretty card dead and i just grinded and grinded and waited for "the rush". it really comes after really being patient and playing solid for hours and hours, and when it does give that sudden surge, i dont wait for the downside anymore and just quit and go on with my life. life is sweet good karma yo!

need a stake by shaw67193, January 24

looking for a stake. i had to withdraw like 1/3 of my roll to cover irl expenses. then i went on permalifetilt (i'll give details over pm/aim if needed) for about 2 weeks and decided playing through it without moving down in limits early enough would be a good idea.

yeah.

so i was staked by gawdawaful back in sept, he made $800 (edit: jk only $750) off me after staking me with 500. i'll ask him about another stake, but he can vouch for me if he's not interested.

i can beat 6max and fr up to 50nl, i'm certain i can beat 100 6max, but i have like <50k hands there.

shaw67193 on aim, or pm me and we can talk.

thanks

Doomswitched by KwarK, January 24

I've been unable to win a hand all night. Slowly grinding up a buyin and then being outdrawn for the lot by donks who shove their backdoor flush draws on the flop. Very frustrating stuff. Normally I get at least one decent suckout to counter it but tonight was all bad. Got university now and I've been up all night losing money so all in all I'm pretty pissed.

It's my birthday (yay) by CrownRoyal, January 23

This is the first time since i was 15 that i wasn't totally smashed the night before and the early morning of my birthday, but it's all cool.

I'm going to the casino today with my mom and we're gonna destroy some indians with our bare hands and biceps.

I'm 19 too, which is a totally useless age and there really is nothing significant about it.

Anyways, I made it through another year

It's beating me by k2o4, January 23

Well NL200 is definitely kicking my ass. I win a bit and lose a bit, coming up even most of the time and then I make a stupid move, which tilts me a bit into a second stupid move and then I'm down. I quit and take a break and try again later. I drop down to NL100 and do great, win back everything I've lost, then I try NL200 again and the cycle continues.

The weird thing is that most of the time while playing NL100 I am very clear on what I'm doing, what's going on, and how to interpret peoples moves. At NL200 I'm running into much more aggression in the form of donks, check-raises, and 3bets, and it confuses me. I managed to make a great call of a bluff right when I sat down on a table and double my stack, and then within 10 minutes I'm having to rebuy cause I've lost it all through small stupid moves.

This is DEFINITELY the hardest move between limits I've ever had. 50 to 100 was pretty tough, but this is much worse. I think it's gonna take a lot of work to make this transition for me.

When I play a NL100 session I pull 1-3 hands out that confuse me. During a NL200 session I feel like 1 out of 5 hands that I am involved in are confusing, lol. Pretty sad =( I will go through my PT later tonight and pull all the confusing ones out and put down some threads. Luckily the 2 biggest losing hands of the night were on idiotic moves by me. I say luckily cause at least I know how to fix those cause they were plain stupid... so just don't do blatantly stupid shit in the future! But I've got plenty of hands where I just dunno what to do that are minor losers and some are even winners.

I have tried to play a bit more standard LAG @ around 22/19 or so instead of my looser LAG. I can pull it off @ NL100 but @ 200 I just can't play well enough postflop.

Anyway, probably down about 1.5 buyins @ NL200 today. Geh.

THERE IS NO TOMORROW by Daut, January 23

So ive pretty much stopped playing everything besides 3/6 6max the past week. I havent been doing very well and i wanted to buckle down and grind out some profit before moving back to other things.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/36_6max.JPG

I just cant seem to do very well. Im for sure running under expectation, but i also havent played my best. I had 1 -4500 session in there, which made me realize that i need to be a lot stricter about my stop losses. I hadnt had a 7-8 buyin loss in a session in a long time. Im reinstating the 4 buyin stop loss for 3/6 and 5/10 and ill use a 3 buyin stoploss for games at 10/20+ in the future.

Barely winning over such a large period of hands is really frustrating. I feel like Sylvester Stallone in Rocky 3 when he is training with Apollo for his rematch vs Clubber Lang. You know the scene, where rocky is taking punches to the head from Apollo but is having flashbacks to his first fight with clubber, but he isnt going down because the punches are so much weaker. (gotta click comments to see the video, dunno why videos arent showing up on the main blog page)

Thats how i feel at 3/6 6max. Most of the players are just so much weaker than opponents im used to playing and i see all these awful things but keep getting my head beat in. Im going to keep fighting and work through this. I will keep reviewing all my pots where i lose 30bb or more, look for things i can improve in my game, and keep playing high volume until im comfortable to move back into other things.

Life Entry #Googooplex by Svenman87, January 23

I think one day I will be able to look at this blog and really entertain myself for a while.

I look back and high school is almost 2 years in the past.

Mankato is almost a year ago.

It's funny how people always say about life. "don't blink or you'll miss it."

Pretty fucking true looking back now. Add a 50-60 hr work schedule and watch time slip right through your fingers.

Weeks seem like days and Years seem like a few months to me at this point, one day I hope to change that.

Until then, cya in a few days, whatever that now means.

ps I love Josh Groban?

5k Day by SakiSaki, January 23

Ship the monies!

Played a sick long session against one guy HU. We played two tables for about 5 hours I think, pretty cool match eventhough I think villian wasnt all that good. He is probably a winner at 2/4 hu but not much more than that. He did pull a couple of big suckouts on me but I still ended up about 3k off him so I cant really complain. I ran good and also sucked out in a couple of key spots.

Here are some key hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368362

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368338

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368368

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368413

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368496

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368491

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368501

weird hand, kinda sick T_T

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368544

By the end of the session we where really deep and I was 3-betting like a madman so the game basicly played like 5/10 or even higher. All in all Im very pleased with my play throughout the session. I think I played my best Hu game ever in the beginning/mid of the session but sadly my game deteriorated a bit at the end.

Still a good day!

good run from 50nl by whamm!, January 23

had a pretty decent first session today. won 2 1/2 bi from 50nl and lost like a little over a bi at 25nl. i think its a sign that i should stop playing 25nl not unless im really really bored. so i guess from now on ill be sticking with 50nl and getting a very decent winrate already. thanks to both myth and tae g for their advice...that was golden for me. really helped me in this limit now.
i shipped neillyaa like 44bucks last nite coz he said he was going to pay me back 50 the following day. i msgd him just now and he just signed out asap (lol). i mean he's a nice person and so am i, so ill give him the benefit of the doubt for now and hope he pays me back what he owes. i explained it all that it really isnt about the money, i just dont like touching my roll atm, coz i dont wanna jinx things. well i hope he pays by the end of the day, i really really do not want to be disappointed by this. so neillyaa, please do the right thing so that good graces will come your way ok? peace and ill post my pt for my second session later.
