| | 100k Year. by RebuyFoolAA, January 28
Thats going to be the topic of a lot of my following blog posts. That is my goal for the year and I think it is attainable if I really buckle down and grind my head off. I am planning on playing around 30-40k hands a month on average and a bulk of it will be at 200 on PS. Wish me luck all! Also will be posting month graph in a couple days. It is a treat imo. Good luck at the tables fellas!

| | Docters can be wrong! by OrcsAreSexy, January 28
So Saturday I went in and was told that I was having an allergic reaction. Take some Benadryl and call me back on Monday. So I did. I just got back, and the first doctor had never seen anything like this before, so he called in another than another. Not one there has seen anything like my super rash. So they had me take a ton of blood tests with the common view that it could be a type of auto-immune disease or blood poisoning. Either which are not very pleasant to have nor is the treatments. The test results haven't came back yet so waiting.
The worse part is it has now officially spread to every part of my body aside from my testicals and face, and I pray it stays that way. However due to the large affected area, sleep has become near impossible. It's a feeling of hardcore sunburns mixed with the itchiness of poison oak everywhere. Even the feel of my bed sheets make my body feel like it's on fire. Here to a week of sitting around in only my boxers!
Life Tilt = -120% ROI v_v

| | The Dark Side? by R_I, January 28
Week 3 began, and as per Silver's advice (I'm such a good student), I tried playing 3 tables of 6 max observantly instead of 9 tabling and playing like a machine.
While watching a table and trying to figure out who the retards were, I noticed on one of the tables that a couple of guys were having a bit of an exchange. One of them (we'll call him Cool Dude) was hassling the other (we'll call him Tilt Monkey I guess).
It got to point where Tilt Monkey was getting fed up with Cool Dude and saying stuff like "You know it's not good to talk shit to people you don't know?" and "I know people". When queried on who exactly he happens to know, Tilt Monkey responded, "50" and then "M" and finally "dre". Cool Dude remarked that, "50 got shot 9 times" to which Tilt monkey replied, "No, not that 50, stupid". ????? wtf rofl
Watching this, a plan began to grow in my head.
A few hands later, I played AXs (my favourite starting hands) and hit the nut flush. It was heads up with Tilt Monkey and on the river I overbet the pot and he folded. After that I casually remarked, "Oh my overbet bluff worked".
Yet another few hands later, I ended up with trip Kings on an otherwise dry board, once again heads up with Tilt Monkey. I figured it was time to spring my trap. It went something like this:
R_I: Will it work again?
*R_I bets $1.20 into $0.80 pot*
*Tilt Monkey Calls*
*R_I takes it down with trip Kings*
R_I: Bang
Tilt Monkey: f u
Cool Dude: Bang
Cool Dude: Bang
Cool Dude: haha
After this play I felt a little weird. Maybe it was guilt, and that brings us to the heart of this post.
Is it unethical to use the chat to exploit someone's lack of emotional control or did I tap into a legit strategy? Or am I just an asshole on my way to the Dark Side?
In summary: Jedi mind tricks FTW?

Just started up a session and lost 3 coolers in 5 minutes so decided it was better to quit instead of chasing losses playing shitty poker. Anybody ever have a shorter session?

I start school today! so pumped for some reason, prob bc now im officially a chemistry nerd lol
also, my fraternity brother, who happens to also be a good friend of mine from childhood, is doing v well at poker. He grinded out those 70fpp sngs for like 154$ profit, and turned his 77$ into about 500$ now. He is playing 10nl, and really progressing well. Hopefully hell keep up the great work and start contributing here some. He has a ton of great qualities that good poker players contain as far as being nitty bankroll wise, able and willing to grind for long periods of time, etc. He also has me to help him along quicker, although I am not sure how much of a benefit that is lol.
Anyways, gl holla

| | New Plan by DustySwedeDude, January 28
Ok, so I figured that I want to rework my game a bit and to get a solid ground to stand on I've decided that I'll need to grind in a game where I'm a proven winner. I'm up about 9k over about 90k hands on 1/2 so I pretty much consider that a good limit for this shit. Therefore I've decided to play 100k hands of NL 1/2 6-max before I play any other kind of ringgame (might play some donkament or w/e). I think I should probably be done with this sometime in mars and or so. I feel really good about this actually.

| | lol gambling addicts by PplusAD, January 28
Yesterday before i went to bed i checked the $ - € exchange rate.
I do this from time to time and i am happy cause i changed from $ to € lately joining Unibet poker.
http://www.ariva.de/euro-dollar-kurs
on the bottom of this site was a guy who said he is a high stakes poker player from germany playing the highes stakes available
(probably Schniblor ? ^^ since he is the only german online poker player playing the highest stakes available)
and wants advice if he should change from $ to euros now or if there is a chance $ will recover in the future.
Funny thing was the replies from the financial experts didnt even adress his original question..
they made fun of him being a poker player and how he is a stupid gambling addict and how lol poker is and all.
They send him a link for a gambling addict Forum on the internet.
>_<
http://www.spielsucht-forum.de/forum//index.php/...a228f8f4f783a3e9ca
Its written in german , so you probably cant read it.
I clicked the link cause i was very interested about having some funny degen stories to read ^^
But what i found was beyond everything i expectet.
People telling their online poker stories and how they lose money everday. Begging to find help for quitting their addiction
Others were replying and wishing them the best of luck to get rid of the gambling hell that is online poker
They told stories how they were big losers online but finally managed to quit poker and now have a better life.
There were field reports from former online poker players and how they needed 3 years to find out its all luck.
ZOMG >_<
Worst thing was that finnaly someone from a TV station appeared in the forums and was recruiting people for a TV reportage
about the dangers of online poker ...
Several people were willing to tell about their experiences >_<
LOL i did not know if i should burst in laughter or feel sad that god created such pitful creatures.
On the other hand , we take their money so its nice they are around
I was thinking of registering for a momment and ask about their favourite sites
but then thought this probably wouldnt be a too good idea.
SInce even though i think its their own fault that they are so stupid i still think i should not make it worse than it is anyways.
SOme of the stories were just lol ...
f.e
one younger guy losing his entire 15 K Bankroll of non poker life earings in 15/30 $ game !!!!!
He said he had won several small life tournaments in his region and has good understanding of the game but luck pwnd him ...
Lol how can he have good understanding of Poker when he plays 15/30 $ with a 15K roll >_<
Yeha he won some small life tournaments ...
thats enough skill to join 15/30$ games since its where all the newbees play ?
one guy claimed he played 5/10 and lost 3000$ in 2 weeks to make him busto just cause AA and stuff didnt hold.
[x] poker is all luck
[ ] 3 buy in BR management is bad
Others claimed that poker cant be played profitable !
since the blinds are the edge of the pokersite >_<
Rofl ! no joke ! they really claimed that Blinds make Poker a loosing game >_<
ha well ,
I just wanted to write about it in my blog
cause i felt like i have to write about it.
GL ALl
btw
i am up 55$ (38€) on Unibet in 500 hands
my Downswing ended

| | Guess the hole cards. by TRACKDO1, January 28
I was watching a SilentAssassin3's Cardrunner video. He did a $2/$4 (six max). He kept stressing the importance of putting people on a range of hands. I've been working hard on that as it's one of the most important skills in poker.
I read tons of hand posts on here, and some never show the showdown and leave us guessing as to the other persons' hole cards. That has driven me crazy.
I thought of a fun idea to post a hand, but not the showdown until posters have time to guess the other person's hole cards. I think it would be only right to put the other person's PAHUD stats eg.(23/14/3.2) or whatever to give a clue of his hand range.
I think it would be fun to see who's best at putting people not on a range, but the actual hand. And when the actual hand is guessed, the op can let everybody know he/she guessed it right and there's a winner!
fun game and also a tool to learn to read hands better.
I don't know how to post a hand yet, and i don't want to hear the bullshit because i don't. I'll figure it out and we can get started, or somebody that knows how to post a hand can do it and we can get to guessing.
Good idea? bad?

| | Facebook poker disaster / Pokerstars success by T8Suited, January 28
A week ago I was bragging about my success in facebook poker, how I got myself 100 million chips and sold them for real money.
Well, times have changed. I have sold off maybe 60 million chips for like $3k. The remaining chips......I lost everything. Well, almost. I still have 1 million left. Yup. 1 million.
The "high stakes" games were set up so that most players only buy in with 10 big blinds so basically for me it was a preflop all-in fest w/ a range of like A5+, any PP and KQ.
When I first emerged from the scene people were unable to cope with my style and called my PFAIs w/ trailing hands like A-rag and small broadways. However as people started to know me better they adjust, they trap, and they bank their winnings (hit and run and rebuy for the minimum).
Those, coupled by tilty plays, bad luck and me playing underrolled, lead to me falling off the chart in a hurry.
I've enjoyed the moments of glory and fame. Now it's back to business. I can't foresee myself spending any more significant time at facebook poker.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sunday at pokerstars has been productive, as I recorded 2 winning sessions in 6max NL100. There were many circumstances where I could play tidier, especially preflop. Nevertheless, I can live with ~$800 in winnings.
Session stats
PM 1332 hands 22/14/2.4 $284.30 10.67 PTBB/100
Eve 2012 hands 20/11/2.9 $678.85 16.87 PTBB/100
Afternoon hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371412 AKc Opponent limp-4bet preflop, but I flopped the King, so I was all-in.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371413 65c Can I just shrug it off?......
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371414 AA I thought my preflop 4-bet was big enough
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371415 JJ Good flop but I lost my discipline when I needed to have it
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371416 TT I probably had more suckouts for than against on this day
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371417 AQc Feeble play turned out to be correct
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371418 86c Check flop behind?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371419 A8s The stars aligned during this hand
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371420 75s Semi-hero call
Evening hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371591 42h Why bother why bother why bother
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371592 55 He sent me on tilt just by playing solid
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371596 44 Blind vs aggro button, he thought briefly and called. Wish I didn't need help =/
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371597 44 Another blind vs button confrontation. My initial reraise was way too big, and I was lucky to successfully make my aggro opponent fold after he stuck in almost half his stack.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371598 97s stone-cold bluff
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371599 A7d Correct read allowed me to get it in with a weak pair.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371600 64d Okay to call the small preflop reraise?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371606 T9s SHIIIIIIIIIIIP
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371607 AA The entire table was trying to destroy this megadonk
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371608 AK I think he put me on AA and tried to represent a King himself
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371610 AT Nice pot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371611 AK So I trapped the guy who was really aggro......or did I?
