Dont know how to play in middle fase of a trnmt...by pazzini, April 21
I'm preety unsatisfied with my performance in the tournament. The first four hours was just great. Didnt get great cards, couple Ak only, but still could make 50k from 10k starting chips with some awesome play. i must say im really good at building my stack in this faze of a tournament. im not hasty, not to tight, im always slowly but surly building my stack with no risk of being eliminated. this time made most of my stack in the third our with some preety great play and outplaying good and aggressive opponents. two key hands against though and very aggresive opponent, whit which i got some history:
1. 7 handed, blinds around 400-600 i got 88 in cut off and just call, the opp in bb raises to 2400. i smoothly call and the flop comes: 5 7 9, 2 clubs, he bets 3/4 the pot and i go all in, which is only a little over the pot size, he shows 7 and folds
2. 7 handed, blinds 300-600 the guy miniraises from late postion, i call in the bb with kt off, flop comes AT6 dd, i bet into the pot and he raises so i smoothly call with my Kd. the turn is Jc, and i check, and he check behind - after this check i knew i got the best hand, river is blank, and i made my favourite play, check to induce some bluff and he fires 9k, i think for a little while and raise his all in and he folds, sweet me. then i eliminated 2 guys and my chipstack was about 50k with the average about 19k. and then its started.....
i call in mp with 66 and shortstack raises, its folded to me and i start observe him. i felt extreme weakness, and my senses usually works great, especially when it comes to this guy, so i raise all in and he insta calls for additional 13k and shows TT
so i lost 1/3 of my stack on a stupid pair and from now on the things just started to go awfully. whenever i raised i got a reraise, i bet flop the come over the top, and so on and so on, i made it to the final table on the shortstack, and then got busted in the second hand when i thought guy was stealing, but he wasnt and his ak was better than my ats.
shit. i got so many leaks in my tournament play that i have to work hard and find out the way to fix it, especially in the late fase of the tournament - have to work on my patience... i was so convinced i will win this shit, i played amazing poker for the first hours, damn it
probably will read hoh once again,
dont know when i will play another tournament, im kinda busy with my studies and need to work out a bit, cause we played this one like 8 hours and im tired as shit, on wednesday got a date with the chick i met two weeks ago at a party, so i will give myself poker free week
se you
of course chic for the end to make this blog not so shitty:
Hi I thought id start a blog because i really cant seem to beat turbo sit n goes at the moment, is it possible ive just run bad because its over a sample of 50 games? My sharkscope says im down $1300 dollars over 300 games with a -10% ROI, which is really embarassing and depressing
the 20 dollar and 30 dollars are regulars, 15,25 and 55 dollars are turbos. All i wanna do is make my graph look pretty and make my sharkscope positive, but i seem to b digging myself deeper and deeper, is there any basic rules to play turbos by becaUse im really really struggling-HELP!!!
i keep getting stacked when i have tptk : ( i need help on how to avoid this... example i raise 1.00 to 3.00 preflop. flop comes 6 4 K
people call 3.00 with 6 4 offsuite.... and stack me how do i read this shit?
what hands should i raise with preflop in bb sb or any pos

Finally! Haven't had a session like this in agesssss! Of course the day started off freezing and I sat down to an hour and 300 hands of pain and suffering. It was a total tease as I doubled in the first 20 hands, won another half buyin by 100 hands, and then lost it all in shitty hand after shitty hand. I was smart enough to get up and take a break, smoke a cig, eat some food and get my head straight.
Then I came back and reviewed all my hands, saw that I only made 2 small mistakes and felt better. Got back on the tables and sat into a crazy heater where almost nothing went wrong. I couldn't lose. All my draws came in, sets hit left and right and I was getting action on them. I just bet bet bet away all session long and came out with a near 5 buyin win!
Pretty fucking great. Despite that I'm still only @ $2,600 cause my last few sessions were solid losers. But for now I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the feeling of a 5 buyin winning session, something I haven't had in a LONG time, and especially not @ NL100, haha. I almost left at about 2.5 buyins up cause I was so happy to be winning and didn't want to lose it all, but I told my fear to stfu and I played my standard hour long session and I'm very glad I did =) Hopefully when I get online later today for another session the heater continues. And if it doesn't, I hope that I at least don't run into cooler central.
Thanks to everyone who gave advice on all the hands I posted last night. That definitely helped me out a lot =) I just hope you guys can all have heaters too ^^
The week started horrible at NL25. I've dropped out 5bi because of suckouts, outdraws, flushes vs flushes, sets over sets, T2P vs set and such things. I could cry like a baby, because I couldn't even win a 80-20.
After those monkeytilting games I've bought in for a 5+0.5$ 1K guaranteed tournament... but I realized too late, it's a rebuy tourney... bleh. Because of some donkaments I was able to double up twice, and had an average chipstack. Of course everybody used the addon possibility in the first break, but not me. With a really solid tight play after three doubleup I took the chiplead, and reached the final table with a good amount of money. It is said that you have to be lucky to win tournaments or finish on good places. I was lucky, won some flipaments and such, and suddenly I was the monster chipleader. Because the other guy picked up the shorties, we went to the headsup with almost the same amount of chips. I was dominating the game, but lost a cointoss with my TP against a flushdraw on the flop and became really short. On the very next hand I had pocket fives, the guy raised me allin and I called. He showed AK, flop came Axx, that's it. Ship 228$ for the second place.
It was a real relif after losing my 5bi on cash tables... now we (my friends and me) are playing Stacked with Daniel Negreanu online, just for fun, keke
This has spoilers so don't read if you haven't seen the event.
I just want to start by saying that ufc83 was a bad event and i was very annoyed by it.
While there was something to be excited about there wasn't really any big names and half the fights included undertrained vaginas.
Let me first say that i was behind serra. I'm a huge fan of his but even then i still picked gsp to beat him. GSP is just so dominant in the ground. Overall for all ground tactics he's top #3 easy. The only thing that i haven't seen from him is the ability to fight in later rounds. But with his skill does it matter? if he can finish in 1-2 rounds who cares if he can't go five. GSP is a monster and i hope after he beats fitch that somehow we could get him to fight jake shields and/or carlos condit. I'd love to see those fights!
Kalib starns is a huge pussy. I was wrong about the fight, i said he would have verbally submitted in round 3, he proved me wrong and went the distance. He almost got caught in the blind hammerfist in the 3rd round but thankfully he was able to avoid them. Nate is a hero now cuz of that shit and kalib should be set on fire.
Maia is a wizard. The end.
I really want to see bigping more at 185, he looked really good and explosive (unlike swick going from 185 to 170) but i need to see him against someone who isn't a huge idiot before i can start calling him a top 185 contender.
I really wasn't a huge fan of the card, i hope that ufc 84 bj vs sherk/machida vs tito/jardine vs wandy changes that. Obviously it has the one fight that i've been wanting to see more then anything (bj/sherk) I will post my thoughts as it gets closer.
OH and i never really talk about poker but i'm going to start playing more omaha and i'm going to post stats about it, i really want to learn the game because i think there is money to be made there.
OK I think I've figured this out after hours of contemplation:
K now I want those shades that StaticX has in the vid, so if anybody can tell me I will ship you $25 on FTP plz believe me.
How balla is the stretch semi limo? Def getting this after both bracelet victories!
Also this is the #1 grindin song in America, both ways:
Easily the catchiest song ever. I wonder if this really works...trip report coming soon!

Some of you know that I've been considering leaving my job for poker(http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/448767/Job_Vs_Poker.html) the last couple of weeks.
Thanks to everyone's advice I was finally able to make my mind up, today was my last day at work. I left the place in good spirit, and will be able to go back if I wish some where down the track in life.
Anyways now that I'm a poker pro, I better start setting some REAL goals.
1. Propbet. Reach SNE this year.
I currently have 240,275 VPPs. I'll take 1:1 odds. and will action trusted members up to $20,000.
2. Make $300,000 this year. (Including rake back)
If you wanna discuss details of the propbet, please send me a PM.
Another important agenda for me is looking forward to getting a coach to improve my game, so if there are any pros out that want to teach a dedicated student please give me a PM so we can work some deals out.
Anyways I will be going on holidays until May 4th roughly before I start poker again.
Ok so I went and pulled a Neilly(soon to be renamed the Heath) and lost the last 70 Dollars or so of my bankroll playing way under-rolled in some donkaments.
Ok those were my stats over my horrendous run of a couple of days. I'm nowhere near naive enough to think that this was just a horrendous run, I played bad and I know it. Hopefully this post is a step to helping me control my horrendous play, and helping me judge what was coolers and what was parts of my bad play. Throughout my blog the next few days (or weeks) I'm gonna post a few (or perhaps a lot) of my Hands (mostly losers) and my setup and and what I feel are some of my leaks and other necessary shit that will hopefully help me on my way to becoming a better poker player .
I'm gonna be poring over my Database looking for the hands I'm gonna post, but if anyone has any helpful books, or articles that might help give me a better understanding of the game, please share them with me, I can usually devour books quite fast if I want to.
I'll be financially able to make another deposit in about ~2-3 weeks. probably depositing in the range of 200-400 bux, but I will be starting on NL5 again I guess, unless it would be better for me to start on NL2. Hopefully I can pass my time till then soaking up valuable knowledge of the game.
I hope I didn't ramble on too much in my post, Blogging is a new thing to me, not totally got the hang of it yet. Hopefully some of you ballers will feel compassion enough to bestow some of your valuable knowledge on this busto degen NL5 player.
Oh well today was pretty gay, i ran like absolute garbage on pacific, setup after setup, shit tons of suck outs, missed bluffs, that was just wrong, I ended down 10k or so..... and then decided to play some 2/4 HU on FTP....
Fortunately I had good results, I made a grand total of 11 000$, which would be 27.5 buy ins lol! http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/55/deepstacknv0.jpg
teehee :D
Edit: Well the first SS was me at 8.6k, I kept playing to get over 10k on a 2/4 table, lolol too ez!
this will be very depressing if I only get like 2 views... hehe
Hey guys, thanks for replying... feel like I just put out the Bat Signal or something. Anyway, I just reviewed all the hands from my NL100 shot so far and found a bunch of things I need help on. I've created a shitload of threads in the hand forums and really need some solid advice. I don't want to hound people with PM's (though a few of you got some, hehe) so I'm just hoping that this cry for help will get some attention.
Below I'm gonna link all the new threads I started. It would be so great if you guys could go through and give advice on all of these hands. I know there's a lot of em but any help you can give is much appreciated.
Big thanks to all of you who can find the time to give some advice.
As far as poker goes, my last NL100 session was during the day on Friday and it didn't go so well - stacked off 2 times (1 marginal, 1 a cooler) and came out with a 1.5 buyin loss for the session. I didn't lose any pots for more than 40BB other than the 2 I stacked off in, but a decent amount of those didn't feel too good. I feel I coulda made it a win despite the 2 stack offs, but I made some mistakes. Those mistakes are all in the above threads, so hopefully tomorrow I'll have a lot of good reading to do and can restart on NL100 with some leaks plugged!
So still overall in my "shot" and will drop down if I hit 2k. I feel good though and think I will be able to keep moving forward. It will be really nice to break 3K and be sitting on 30 buyins. I'll feel pretty solid then.
Also thanks to everyone for the nice comments on the short stories. I plan to post a few more in the future. Just gotta re-read em and find the good ones so you don't have to waste your time ^^
I run incredabad at 50/100 it's sfsick, and at the worst times too, like when I know somebody is going to instaleave, or when the pot is huge.
Today I played Nowa1, a crazy Scandi, for about 550 hands at 50/100 so of course I ran about 60k below expectation:

I still ended up on him but I'm still bitter as I thoroughly owned him all session long.
I guess I shouldn't be so bitter I'm still doing ok on the month: http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/8f5cdd66fd0b0cff60354602d2335587.jpg
This weekend I visited my parents; they are unsatisfiable...
Me: Check out how much I'm up on the year!
Dad: When are you graduating? You should try to get a finance minor, that way you'll get a good job when you graduate.
Me: Pretty sure I just made double your salary this month.
Both folks: STFU get a job or you fail life you bum.
From now on, if anyone asks, I run a capital management firm.
Related, I realized again how much I need to quit school. I'm no student, just balla.
That'll prob go over well with them.
We celebrated the holiday by going to the most legit restaurant in town tonight; I'm now a VIP there so ofc we get special menu from now on. The balla who drives a Maserati was so jealous of us.
Also, I can't talk about poker except in rant form. Fuck it.
And I promised 2 bracelets in the WSOP tonight also...I will take down the HU championship and also at least one 6max NL event. Also my stake swore upon his firstborn he will win the main event. I will retire after that on July 16th but will ball til I fall plz belive me.

played my continuation session from last night.my tracker records dates wrongly so im forced to trick myself that this morning is my end session from yest. won a couple bi from 100nl and im pretty happy about it, well im not really concerned with winning right now, just not losing big and making supernova by the end of the month. winning marginally helps though haha. ill be playing my second session, hopefully ill get another 6k hands in up until next week. peaCE
