pokerwise good session today
only 500 hands and 75 minutes of play ... + 49$ 10BB/100
lol seems i always rollercoaster...
1day good session next day bad session in endless circles
also managed to fix one small leak i have that will probably save me
1-2 buy ins a month ^^
I'm looking for someone to either stake me for 10-20+ or buy a % of my action in the games. Feel free to respond here or PM/IM if you're interested. aim/skype- highonlifesinz88, msn- rnbsalsa88@hotmail.com
I've been backed before by some reputable players who'd be happy to vouch for me.
It is as the title implies. I am simply stuck on my Omaha game and don't feel like I'm getting any better at it. I have been a consistent winner in the low stakes and got all the way up to 100PLO and have since been on a torrential downswing to the point where I am just barely rolled for 25PLO. I am very frustrated with myself and with this game at this point in time. I will do whatever it takes to turn this around and become a real winner in these games. I believe that I have the ability to beat this level and all the way up to 200PLO. What I seek now is a coach/mentor who can help me get there. I am sick of playing like crap and not seeing things I probably don't understand. Anyone who is interested and experienced with respect to PLO please contact me and we can work out the details.
Another Positive session, which is always good. Played some very good/tight poker today. Also was able to finally find the fold button a few times when my hand was questionable.
Regardless of me only winning a little bit, I felt I played Terrific minus some of the hands above. I am going to have to do something about me jumping out to +4 and 5 buyins early, then continuing to play and dwindling my winnings. Might start stopping my sessions if/when I get 4 buyins up. Good Idea or not? I was up 4 buyins today at one point and again walked away with considerably less.
Its been a while since i last posted. I`m actually not sure if my blog was of any use to me or to anybody else so that`s the main reason for long-time-no-update. It also hasn`t been much of a blog so far so that can be the reason. Trying to make it real now.
To summarize what happened to me - first thing i started running & playing well @ 200nl HU and was destroying the games / withdrawing most of the winnings. I`ve always thought of me not having tilt problems at all but recently realized i`m a tilt monkey. And by that i don`t mean massive spews every hand but generally "importing" several huge leaks in my game when tilted. For example autopiloting / playing hands face up / not stopping when i HAVE to stop playing. These problems got me virtually busto.
I was running under expectations both in poker and in life. Unhealthy eating for 2 years got me to low energy levels, low concentration and increased body fat (before poker i`v always been lean and athletic). I was lazy, depressed and generally paying too much attention to little annoying things in life. I also found that autopiloting 17/14 on 12 tables 6max doesn`t work as well as it used to . I`m glad i finally decided its time for a change. I`ve dropped 11 kg the last two months and got my body and energy to the best level`s they`v ever been. This was a result of me reading a nutrition / fitness book and following the suggestions. Now i feel so fine that its like i`m on drugs all day everyday. Its fuckin unbelievable how much changing from unhealthy to healthy eating can affect u. Whatever i do i`m doing its close to perfect again. I`m also a lot happier no matter if i do smth or do nothing So i strongly recommend everyone reading this to stop eating shit and u`ll be surprised of the results.
As expected this changes hit my game too. I take beats with a smile, quit bad games, not tilt at all. I also discovered what my main problem in poker was. Yes there were a lot ot problmes put the main reason for them was me becoming extremely NOT patient and calm. I had lost my cool. Fixing that seems to have fixed everything. I think over situations and come up with the best decision i`m capable of reaching. Now i`m regrinding my bankroll for a several thousand HU hands already and i can say i feel i control what is happening to me at the table. That`s huge i gotta say. A good thing about HU is that it gave me the joy of the game again.
I`m not gonna post graphs / results in this post. But if i contunie updating this i`m gonna do it soon.
P.M the post is a little chaotic but there is progress - i got paragraphs this time
another "i promise myself..." blog lolby whamm!, April 25
nothing new. but ive thought about it and i wanna make these promises to myself from now on. damn im sick of poker. 1 yr of serious playing, won only 13k so far, i couldve won more, but i think there's a ton of things about my mindset i should change namely;
*20bi move up, 35-40bi previous limit move down.
*winrate is of utmost importance not money, study past hands esp in big pots
*poker BR is only a vehicle achieve a certain limit by which you wish to play, when you get there, then it becomes money
*variance is a very huge part of the game, handle downswings as such
*move up aggressively, move down conservatively
*play less tables(if possible lol)
*start at 25nl (again) FR move up to 6max when i take a stab at 50nl(i hate 50nl FR)
*play less hands, like 3k a day in 3 short 1k sessions, stop when tilting, go on if on a good run of cards until things dry up again.
*play more aggressively this time in good spots (stop being a fucking nit online and a spewtard irl hahaha hear that tokes?)
*spend on online poker schools, coaching, the moment i can afford it from my rebuilt BR
*stop thinking of getting to supernova for once and just be happy being platinum for two months (rofl) but i only have 20kvpps to go
*maximize bonuses by getting 650 for now, 1500 when i hit supernova
*stick with lee jones (coz i love the guy for destroying my life lol)
*dont fall in love too much with 25nl, coz it's really just a springboard for bigger, better opportunities
*in fact try to hate being in microstakes, yeah that's a better mindset.
blah blah blah, there you go. that's it. played 1 session now. won almost 40bucks, i can win more, but im just tired and wanna play CALL OF DUTY 4 ONLINE, btw, any of you guys play this? coz it rox! discuss poker hands and rants with me starcrudph at yahoo messenger ppl who msn me know that ill chat even when im on 24tables lolol, im always ready to help and discuss poker
here's two hands: retarded to post this, but obv i lost so i just wanna check if it's good. i know results oriented advice btw, so i wont be listening to them

AbuHaifa: sits out
I am flying out with my GF to Perth in a few hours and then driving with a fellow poker player Filthy999 back to Sydney. The trip is estimated to be 4000km and will last approximately 6 days with a few stops at a few scenic places on the way! We are stopping at I think the biggest national park in Australia, "The Nullabor" and maybe Port Augusta.
Anyways this month has been bloody amazing, easily my best month yet. I completed 67601 vpps this month, reaching a yearly tally of 256471 quite a bit off SNE. My prob bet that I will make SNE still stands at the odds of 1:1, will action up to $10,000. Place your bets before May 5th.
Anyways I'm apparently 26k Above EV this MONTH, Please keep this up and don't doom switch me!!!!!
So lemme preface this by saying most HS regs would not post this type of shit.
I took a shot at the nosebleeds, and for the most part it went well except for today against Present, who soulcrushed me for 200k.
We started at 100/200, where i spotted NeverA sittout out vs this huge fish. I had to join the WL, and jump on several 100/200 tables to ensure I got this action. I had just listened to Phil Galfond, aka OMGClayAiken, aka the shit when it comes to HSNL, and heard him talk about how he took 2-4 shots before he stuck in the nosebleed NL stakes...well I figured this was my time as I am a huge fave against this massive fish...so it goes, he runs like God vs me and I lose 200k almost.
Oops I suck, the absolute value of my hand is too much to fold here but I know I'm beating basically nothing.

The previous day I was playing a huge fish at 500/1000LHE where he beat me up decently, then left, then came back to 1000/2000 where I dreamcrushed him after a 500 hand battle. Props to him for being degen enough to come back, but props to me for picking my spots and running with them. There is no way in holy hell I am not 650% better than Present, and I didn't really lose much to him and never completely spewed. So I will prob play him again this weekend and hopefully book a huge win. I was hoping to use my next 1.5 months profit to use as my live roll while I'm in Vegas for 6 weeks during the WSOP. I wanted to keep a certain amount online so I wouldnt have to worry about it. That may change with what has just transpired. However, if I run decent vs this clown I will soulcrush and prob win more than 200k as my style tilts him to no end. Here's to hoping I can have a winner every now and then.
Also I briefly played LP's own demigod P33achy_keen aka Eric Liu before this. I had class but decided to skip so I could play poker. It ended up being costly. What do I tell my teachers, oops I lost 200k while I shouldve been in class but actually dont care?

The last few days I haven't paid shit for attention to poker cause I got dragged into the hacking drama in the BW scene. A guy on my team was accused of hacking and so we needed to investigate to make sure they were right. At first it looked bad for him, then I checked the evidence closely and it suddenly looked good. They'd misrepresented some facts and all their shit was very disorganized. This lead me to spend like 2 days of hunting replays and analyzing em with a friend. At the end it was clear that the guy 100% hacked. Glad to know for sure and have that shit be over with. Now I gotta focus on poker again. I was having fun being a bnet Hercule Poirot but that's over now.
Poker has been ok though. Played a really bad mega donkey session 2 days ago and have just now recovered from it. I was stupid and jumped on 6-8 tables and spewed 4 buyins. Since then I've been good about 4 tables and a great mindset before playing. Spent a lot of time going over hands with snider and sweating him some too. It's been very helpful. I think I'm making a lot of good plays and have really adjusted to NL100 well. I'm also table selecting well too.
No need for screenshots cause I've played like 500 hands in the last 48 hours. Gotta start putting in more time at the tables. Keep getting nervous when I'm winning... guess it's cause my last big losing session I was up about 3 buyins and decided to stay cause I had some mega fish on the tables, and managed to lose it all really quickly after deciding to stay. That was bad for happiness EV. That's a concept that I heard in Raptors CR vid and I liked it a lot. Happiness EV is good cause then I play better and make better poker EV moves. So I've been playing really short sessions and leaving as soon as I feel myself getting tired, lazy, anxious or nervous. I try to fight it but if it doesn't go away easily then I'm out. Can always take a break and come back later right?
I'm also a total drama whore and curious as hell about what is gonna happen with soah. That was some weird shit. So I'll probably be whoring LP nonstop till I see the details come out, haha.
Oh yeah, going grocery shopping tonight cause we have some friends coming over tomorrow night for dinner. We're cooking tibetan/indian food and they're bringing the wine. Should be fun and I'll try to post some pics.
So, this month I intended on making ironman on ftp, platinum star on stars, and ultimately playing a ton. Well, 24 days into the month, I haven't even played 7k hands. I wont be making ironman, and I will prob only hit goldstar. Ive played 5206 hands at 50NL for a profit of $345, and 1723 hands at 100NL for a profit of $280. I am satisfied with my results, and have really only been playing when I want to. Needless to say, I have definitely been slacking.
As far as the rest of my life goes.. I am actually doing well in school which is nice. I will most likely be living in the fraternity house next year(not terribly happy about it, but its whatever), and will most likely be running for vice president of my fraternity(requires me to live in the house ). I have been working construction for my dad, and will probably continue to do that throughout the summer. ~$25/hr isnt too bad for a side income, and it keeps me fairly fit. I am also trying to get a job at the oldest, classiest bar here in town. The pay wont be anything spectacular, but I am hoping to be bar tending by the end of the summer. It'll be something to occupy my nights and keep me out and about socializing.
I guess all in all, life is good right now. Not going to set any goals for next month considering I have no idea whats to come. I have finals the first week of May, then I am done for the summer. Until then..
peace out girl scouts
Pat
Also, I have ~$350 on PartyPoker I am still trying to get rid of. Ill give 5% of the amount to whoever can help me get it off of there and on Stars/FTP.
Was able to make a deposit of 100 bux today, so i figured I'd give NL5 another shot, if I lost 3 buyins I was gonna go down to NL2. Well here's my stats from this HUGE session.
I was up as much as 7 buyins at around the 1700 Hand point, but then I suffered some massive beats, which most can be found posted in my hands, I'd post some here on the blog, but it's 8.36 am and I am very sleepy.
Playing Much tighter now, as can be seen in my stats. Special thanks to thestoryteller, as he gave me some advice that helped alot.
Well I'm gonna get some sleep, then hopefully put in another Huge session tomorrow.
2008 has been a rough poker year for me. The first few months I ran very badly at both 2/4 and 3/6, somewhere in the area of $30,000 below expectation. The psychological ramifications of this run combined with the increased difficulty of games on Stars led to a pretty sizable loss of confidence in my poker game. Playing poker without confidence is a pretty ugly thing, and certainly helped to ensure that I continued to win at a pretty lackluster rate.
As I've written in previous blogs, I also saw my interest in the game continue to wane. Poker felt like a grind, I didn't enjoy thinking about the game away from the table [or even at the table!], and the emotional swings were beginning to wear on me. Given that poker is my only source of income [and that I had made a number of important decisions under the assumption that I would continue to earn $$ at a steady rate over the next few years through poker] this was a pretty miserable state of affairs.
The past few weeks have been better. For whatever reason, I'm finding myself willing and somewhat interested in continuing to learn and improve as a player. I've watched somewhere between 15-20 mid-stakes videos during this timeframe [most notably the 'Movin' on Up' series by FoxwoodsFiend, a couple 6-max videos by MYNAMEIZGREG and a pair of videos by Raptor.] I'm thinking about situations much more clearly, hand reading better, and generally just making more solid decisions [all very vague, I know.]
My goal over the next few months is to once again make 3/6 6-max on Stars my regular game. This is where I spent the vast majority of my time playing during 2007, and there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to continue beating the game at a solid clip in 2008. The games are getting tougher, yes, but I have an extraordinary amount of faith in my ability to adjust and thrive.
Had a good session earlier tonight, also sat at a couple of "50% Liquidpoker" tables with JohnnyCosmo and Adam001 some portion of the time.
I'll continue playing a mixture of 2/4 and 3/6, playing more and more 3/6 as I feel myself comfortably able to combat the majority of the regulars there.
