Memento = Wow
  JonnyCosMo, Apr 16 2007

Ok so I watched Memento last night and wow was that a total mind fuck. The movie was put together really well for being totally backwards. Yeah, the movie is basically played with the ending in the opening scene. Weird huh?

Anyways, here is some of the pics of the house we are trying to move into for the summer in Vegas:

Mini ballers fighting? Gogo!

Wish List & Summer in Vegas
  [vital]Myth, Apr 16 2007

So, as some of you may know or may have guessed, my plans for taking a trip to Europe this summer fell through. My friends are idiots, and they want to take a Contiki guided tour instead of staying with all of you fine gentlemen, so I told them to fuck off. I’ll take my own trip later, and THEN I will ask you all again whether I can bum it up at your places. Thanks so much for the offers though, and sorry I can’t get to see you yet!

But on to the good stuff. So, I’ll be spending this summer in Las Vegas instead. My uncle has a house there, and has offered me a free room for as long as I want, so I will most likely be there from the middle of May to the middle of July. I’ll be playing and teaching poker, as well as working for Liquidpoker, full-time, and generally just living an extremely baller lifestyle, doing whatever I want whenever I want. Also, I will be degen’ing it up at strip clubs a fair amount, because I am awesome like that. However, strip clubs are horrible for one’s bankroll, so I need to practice moderation.

Furthermore, I am working on a wish list of items I want to buy, either with cash or from the PokerStars FPP store, by the end of the summer. If anyone has any suggestions for additional items, and/or substitutes for the ones I’ve listed, please let me know!

#1: New Computer Chair
Name: The Aeron by Herman Miller
Price: $949
Description: This chair is apparently a spectacular distributor of pressure for maximal comfort. It also has angle- and height-adjustable arms, which is crucial for me in chair selection. It also comes in three different widths, which is awesome, because I find most chairs to have the arms far too wide, accomodating large people. While I may be fat, my arms just don't stick out that far . Awesome chair!
Link: http://www.hermanmiller.com/aeron/

#2: New Computer
Name: ?
Price: About $600
Description: I just want a new computer with decent processing power/RAM so that I can run PT/PAHud/multi-tables lag-free, and decent video support for the two new monitors I want to get.

#3: New Monitors
Name: Samsung 24” LCD Monitors from the FPP Store
Price: 136,000 FPPs
Description: What is there to say? Awesome dual 24” setup coming up ASAP.
Link: http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp/store/electronics/samsung-monitor-244/

#4: New Speakers
Name: Bose Companion 3 Series II
Price: $249
Description: These speakers are excellent. DAy[9] has them, and they have extremely good bass and high-quality crisp sound, and they’re simple and compact. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Link: http://www.bose.com/controller?event=...ENT&product=companion3_computer_index

#5: New Cell Phone
Name: LG VX8700
Price: $229
Description: This phone is basically as accessorized as I want. It has an MP3/WMA player and a 2.0 megapixel phone, and it’s compact and looks cool. I don’t really know anything about phones, so I’m particularly interested in anybody’s comments about this or another phone that I should look at. My carrier is Verizon! It’s also been suggested that I should wait for the release of iPhone…anybody know if this is supposed to work with Verizon? Also, anybody think it’s worth it to switch to Cingular for this phone?
Link: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/st...dPhoneId=2971&changingCompletedOrder=

#6: Plasma HDTV
Name: Pioneer 60” Widescreen Plasma HDTV from the FPP Store
Price: 270,000 FPPs
Description: Sick, 60” plasma HDTV. There’s just nothing to really say about this, it rocks your socks off all day long. This is a lot of FPPs though. Once I achieve SuperNova it should still take 2 months or so. Given that I’m already getting two monitors and barely have enough FPPs now to get one, I think this one will be a long time coming. More like a Christmas gift for myself, I think. Problem is, though, that I can use my FPPs soon for sick cash bonuses when I surpass Supernova. Dilemma!
Link: http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp/store/electronics/pioneer-tv-60/

#7: Balvenie Scotch
Name: The Balvenie Portwood 21 year-old
Price: About $200
Description: The Balvenie is my favorite label of Scotch that I’ve tasted so far. It is rich and intense with flavors of caramel and sherry, and I’ve loved every bit of the DoubleWood 12 year-old that I have already. This will be a brilliant addition to my collection.
Link: http://www.balvenie.com/shop/portwood.html

#8: MacAllan Scotch
Name: The MacAllan Sherry Oak 25 year-old
Price: About $375
Description: I sampled this unbelievable whisky at the Luxor Steakhouse in Las Vegas on my birthday in March. Its richness and complexity floored me. I could not believe the delicious flavor bouquet it revealed. I was stunned and almost never want to drink a different Scotch again. I absolutely must have this in my collection.
Link: http://www.themacallan.com/range/18yo.html

Total Cash: About $2,600
Total FPPs: 406,000

I prioritize the above items this way. I need a new computer first, so that’s what I need to get ASAP. After that I think I need the new cell phone, followed by the chair. Then I need the new speakers and then the new monitors. Then the HDTV, then the MacAllan scotch, and finally the Balvenie. So how about a schedule?

Today: April 15
$600 computer: May 1
$229 cell: May 8
$949 chair: June 1
$249 speakers: June 8
136,000 FPP monitors: July 1 (current FPPs: 72,000)
270,000 FPP HDTV: November 15
$375 MacAllan Scotch: December 1
$200 Balvenie Scotch: January 1

And that closes out the year! This actually seems doable. The FPP items might be a bit tough to manage, because I don’t tend to play a lot of tables.

What else can I get to enhance my baller status? Don’t suggest watches or cars, I’m already set with a watch for now, and I can’t get something with a monthly payment (except maybe new cell phone service) until I get my student loans paid off.

actionDJ Rocks House!
  JonnyCosMo, Apr 16 2007

So today I started off playing my session at around 11:00am, and used up 5400 fpp's to win a $215 seat to the Sunday Million. Nolan is right, those things are cheese cake to win. So the Sunday Million was once again a total failure. I searched all morning for people to swap 5% with me in it, but apparently most people are starting to become aware of my less than stellar recording in cashing in tournaments. The only person to swap 5% with me was my boy actionDJ (more on this later). I went out rather quick as it basically went like this: I raise, donkey calls me, I c-bet the flop, donk jams, I fold, and repeat x10 til all my chips were gone. God I hate that tournament so much... Out in 6421st place! I'm so talented yo~

To make matters worse, I was getting destroyed at my NL400 tables at the same time. Nothing was going right for me, it was just sick. I ran QQ into KK preflop twice (although one was vs Weak Tite and I am pretty sure that it was probably a bad shove on my part considering his 3 betting range is much tighter). Made a very marginally thin value bet vs a donkey who happened to have it. Got abused by Daut for about an hour (why the fuck is he playing 2/4 today?) And to top it all off, my boy actionDJ who is very tight/solid for the most part decides that he wants to donate some moneys to me, but ends up running godly and totally owning me in this hand:

No justice at all. So I stopped my session today down about $1225 and decided to watch the movie 'Original Sin'. God damn there is a lot of sex, nudity, sex, rape, sex in that movie! But overall it was a pretty excellent movie. So after I close down the movie I log back onto Ventrilo and hear the amazing news: With 300 players left, actionDJ was 45th in chips in the Sunday Million! Boy he runs like god... But wait! I then realized I still had 5% of his action! Wooot! For the next 2 and a half hours we had about 10 people in our ventrilo channel railing actionDJ's exciting run deep into the Sunday Million. RaiNKhaN was helping actionDJ in almost every move, as we were all listening in. With 85 players left, actionDJ was 12th in chips and I was already garenteed $92 bucks! This is when RaiNKhaN seemed to be desperate for a piece of the pie. He offered me $800 first, but after 5 mins I got him to buy the 5% for $1000 flat. SHIP THAT SHIT!!!!! (You guys can figure out the math on that, but I'm pretty sure it was a good deal on my part) So actionDJ's good run happened to carry over to my good fortunte as well! Yeahhh baby~!! Eventually we got down to less than 40 players and actionDJ was an average stack and jammed with 88, ran into AK. The flop came: 7-8-Q!! Woooooot! Turn T, river J! Everyone in ventrilo went crazy at the rigged nature of tournament poker. I guess this is what happens when people that infinitly good collide at the end of a tournament. Kaaaboooooom!! Anyways, I was playing some NL200 while watching the tournament and ended up nickle and diming my way to $200ish profit. So add that with actionDJ's $1000 profit for me and we got a break even day! Ship it crucial~!!

One of these days... I will run like god too... and you will see... You will all see! Mark my words!

Oh the places I have been
  CrownRoyal, Apr 15 2007

No poker in this blog, fuck poker i suck.

So last night was prom. Gay, I know, I had a lot of fun though. Who cares about the prom anyway, it's just a really good excuse to get drunk.

I picked my date up at about 4pm and we took what seemed like a never ending amount of pictures. Finally we got out of my house and we went to eat at Tokyo, which is a really fancy habachi japanese steakhouse place. Asian people are just really cute, I would love to work at that place just to be around the cute asian people. Anyways, back on track, we ate and believe it or not, took some more pictures because there was "really cute bridge omg" outside of the restraunt.

Then we went to my date's mom's house and... Took pictures. I hit on her mom like any sensible prom date would do, Moxy skills +1. We stayed there for a bit and then headed to the prom which i fashionably showed up to 45 minutes late. When I got there for some reason everyone was just being lameasses and sitting down so I instantly started breaking it down, straight up gangsta style - and by straight up gangsta style I absolutely mean like howerton off of fresh prince, that guy's a pimp. I did the typical dance stuff, you know, grinding with all of the girls while all the other guys sit scared at the back of the room, I never understood that but I was too busy enjoying myself to figure it out, so I just dropped it.

We finally left prom at about 10pm I think and i was ever so giddy to get back home and start the festivities. Things started out pretty slow though because we didn't have any alcohol except a half fifth (a fifth is 750ml for you non hicks) of jager which I drank about 3/4 of. I was off to a pretty spendid start and when the alcohol got there I continued the barrage of attacks at my liver, Leonidas himself would have been pretty impressed with my BAMFness. Yeah, BAMF.

My beer pong partner 4lyfe cheated on me and played with one of my other friends, I was totally planning on me and him making the hall of fame (winning 10 games in a row) Last night, but he was a jiggity jackass and so I partnered my friend craig who is basically billy bob from varsity blues made over. Me and craig played till he had to leave and at that point most people were gone except a few and I ran my prom date home.

Somewhere in there we did hang out although I didn't really mention her any, we played circle of death for a while and she can drink a lot for a girl, i was impressed. I got back out to the party and it was pretty dead except a little group of people who like me wanted to party hard until they passed out. My memories are getting pretty blurred here but about 30 minutes later someone told me that there was a guy at my prom date's house and she didn't want him to be there, coupled with the fact that she was drunk and it was 3am I was furious (me and my date are really good friends, it wasn't like a boyfriend girlfriend type deal) and I had someone drive me to her house and I sprinted in and the guy came out of her room. I don't remember what i told him other then that I was going to kick his ass off of this balcony type deal we were on. The faggot threatened me with a gun and when i got up in his face and said "shoot me then" the guy snap folded his bluff and tried to get me to shake his hand, what a fag.

We got mica and we left back to my friend's house that we were partying at and his parents made us all start going to bed (gay) I snuck off for a while with some of my friends but everyone was being gay and it was cold so I got back and the owner of the house, my friends dad was pretty pissed at me but I cuddled up in the floor and went to sleep.

We woke up at like 8am and they made us breakfast, awesome, it was great and like the champions we are we went back out into the garage after breakfast and continued drinking, I decided that KFC sounded pretty awesome, so we went and got KFC. It was awesome.

We got back and played some basketball, but then we went in the house and I took about a five hour nap, woke up, watched National Treasure and came home.

All in all I had a fucking awesome time, I wish that gay kid would have fought me though.

Poker EV Software
  JonnyCosMo, Apr 15 2007

EDIT: The website now makes you email the dude for a password to work the software. This is bullshit, so if you want to installer just give me a PM on LP or IM me on AIM or MSN.

Wowowowow, so my mind has expanded so much. It's amazing how much you can learn about this game each day. So I downloaded that Poker EV software that tallies up your Sklansky dollers earned compared to your total winnings. Lets get right to my graph:

Here is a graph of my last 36,000 hands (about 2-3 weeks worth of playing for me). So let's translate this baby: The teal line is the Equity Adjusted to Total Winnings, which is basically Sklansky bucks (true equity) adjusted with the pots won/lost that did not go to showdown. Basically, this means it's what I should have won if my luck is breaking perfectly even. As you can see, the green line is my total winnings which = $7,835.25 at 6.4 Big Bets / 100 Hands and is running above the teal line. Conclusion: I run infinitly good, but we've already been over that.

The blue line is what I've won at Showdowns only. While the Red Line is the Sklansky bucks that are calculated straight from showdowns. Again, as you can see with the blue line being over the red, I run good.

Now my questions are... Is the gap between my value won at Showdowns and my Total Winnings suppose to be that wide? Or is this showing a leak in my game where I might not be playing as good in pots uncontested. I've been looking at this thing all day, and asking questions, but the program seems to be so new that people dont really know what the hell things mean on it.

Anyways, today's games were sick easy. The NL200 on PokerStars is just so juicy on weekends. I woke up and made $1200 in about 1000 hands, it was like Christmas all over again.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174941 <-- The top pair donk. These type of creatures only come out of hiding on the weekends.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174943 <-- I'm not really sure what to say about this one. O RLY...?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174945 <-- Maybe I shouldn't be double barreling these types of fish. They just never fold.

Unfortunately, I logged back on at 10pm tonight and gave about $700 of it back to the tables. Couldn't pick up anything, and was playing pretty bad. Oh well. Anyways, I'm going to be playing the Sunday Million tomorrow... Someone shoot me plz. I hate playing that tournament, but there is just so much dead money in it. Atleast I can play cash games to kill the boredom.

Corona anyone? Cheers~!!

Converting my PT to PostgreSQL
  JonnyCosMo, Apr 14 2007

Woooot! So at my home game last weekend Pavel and Lyric were telling me about converting my PokerTracker database to this PostgreSQL format shit so it wont freeze everytime it imports hands. Like wtf... why dont people tell me these things exsist earlier! So I have about 330,000 hands in my database right now, so I'm waiting for all this shit to get converted.

Anyways, after doing that, Lyric has shown me to this new software that apparently calculates your EV on your database and can pretty much show you how good/bad your running over a sample of hands. Unfortunately the site is down at the moment, but I'm def. gonna jump on it when it gets back and running. The program is only in it's beta version, so dont expect too much yet.

LINK: http://www.pokerevsoftware.com/program/beta.html

Also, another thing to give you guys a heads-up about is the PokerStars Buddy List Program created by the good semi-hard working but mostly half-assed people at TheCashDB.com. Definitly an awesome program for tracking your fish(the only good thing to come from that website). You can find that here:

LINK: http://www.thecashdb.com/index.php?page=software

As for thecashdb.com in general, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR IT! It's a total scam, they barely have any hands on anyone. It's a total garbage website trying to rip players off for $50 at a time. The makers of that website are as gay as my friend's smile in this picture --->

Pretty fuckin gay eh?

  JonnyCosMo, Apr 12 2007

WARNING: This is old news~ I'm pretty sure most of you guys saw the first picture of Me & twin from the Bahamas, but most of you have not seen the 2nd. After a long night of drinking and hanging out on the beach after the bars, we go back into the hotel around 5am and guess who I see!! TWIN-CARACAS and all his glory again. And since I told twin I was his #1 fan, I had to take another picture.

I dedicate this to FrinkX who just loves to see my smile. :D Enjoy~

EDIT: Yikes! Fixed the name! How dare I spell the great one's name wrong! Zomg

Pokerstars Support reads my blog
  Daut, Apr 12 2007

In reply to an email, one of the members of the stars support team asked me if anyone from pokerstars has confirmed my attendance at the WPT championship, cause I guess they are the ones buying me into the event since PCA is a pokerstars sponsored tourney. I sent back no and told them I was indeed going to the event. I got this as a response back.

  Hi Ryan,

Ok, We are working out the details of that now.
We will most likely wire the money to the Bellagio, and it will be there
for you when you get there, but as soon as we have the details sorted out,
we will let you know.

Good luck in the Championship.
And BTW, absolutely love your blog. The pics are priceless

Best Regards,

Jeanne D.

That's awesome. Jeanne rules.

so anyway, I just got back from the movies, I went to see grindhouse. it's these 2 full length horror movies with sweet trailers in between them to comebine for over 3 hours of pure awesomeness.

Pretty much the greatest movie of all time. There were zombie type creatures, gogo dancers, explosions, a girl with a machine gun for a leg, and that was just the first movie. I actually just registered for imdb for the sole purpose of giving this movie a 10. It's obvious that Robert Rodriguez has a machine gun for a dick because only a man made out of that could make a movie this awesome.

If sin city and kill bill had a baby, and raised it like a spartan warrior, it would become this movie.

I highly recommend that all of you see it asap.

BACK TO FULL RING!!!
  nolan, Apr 12 2007

LOCK UP YOUR KIDS, NOLAN IS BACK IN TOWN.

I played my first session at 200nl Full Ring on Stars the other day. I did OK, kinda ran blandly (Only had Aces once and it folded to me in the BB) and had some kinda bizarre "coolers". (AK vs A7 in a 3bet pot on an AJ7 board)

Fortunately I won alot of middle sized pots so things turned out in the plus. The games were kinda tough being a weekday, but I think with some weekend sessions I can sustain a slightly higher winrate. Hopefully anyways.

In other news, There are flagrant rumours going about that I am a Harvard student. These are not true, rather my University allows an exchange program where I can take a class at any University along the Amtrak train line (Maine, UNH, Harvard, BU, Northeastern, BC etc.) if my university does not offer it. So although I am a registered Harvard student, it is one class and is misleading. I apologize for the misunderstanding, I'm only a little smart, not quite mega smart.

Speaking of University, it's pretty hard, so if you're doing OK at poker and still in High School you should defer until you're done with poker to go to school because balancing poker/social life and schoolwork is difficult.

Also, if you guys could suggest some good movies to rent (one's I probably have not seen) I would greatly appreciate it.

And lastly, I would greatly appreciate any commentary on my PT stats, I personally think they are interesting and outside the realm of a typical 200nl FR player.
