Break from robotic NL100 FR poker
  Tycho, Mar 13 2007

Well I'm done with NL100 FR for a while. After quite a long time of playing, I'm down 5 buy ins and mostly break even after sessions (reasons: bad run, impatience sometimes). Now my BR can take it ($3600), and I could patiently wait for me to start winning gradually again, but I decided otherwise.

I' m just mainly playing some fun tournaments now, like Omaha Hi / Lo, Omaha PL, Studd, Horse etc. It's really fun to learn different games dynamics (FR is so robotic) and the competition is horrible. I'm still playing NL cash games as well, but only 6 max on low limits: NL25 / NL50 6max on UB. Besides that I'm playing some 6max PLO cash games, and most of the tables are FULL of fish.

I might do a little bit of a write up if I really start winning big at a different game type. If not, I' ll start blogging again when I am confident enough in my 6max game to do NL100 6 max. It's just nice to have so much fun in poker again! Fun, fun, fun. Fun is fun.

Baby Steps On NL100
  Tycho, Feb 24 2007

Hello, so I' ve played nearly 8k hands on NL100 and starting to get an idea of what the competition is like. Felt really lost at the beginning, see topic:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/informatio.../Need_NL100_FR_help!_(LONG_POST).html

Found out that I really needed to change some things:

- Table selection: on NL50 FTP I just sat at every possible table, and everywhere there were donks. There are some extremely nitty tables that are not profitable on PS. Right now I'm just always looking up the fishes, and hopefully they will stop sucking out on me soon enough .

- Be as agressive PF on NL100 as on NL50. I guess the new amounts of money scared me off alot of profitable spots to reraise preflop. Especially because my good NL50 run didn' t progress to NL100, which increases the danger of playing scared poker (-EV).

- Something new for me is pot control. Still not sure whether it's best to use, I' m so used to the ' MONSTER POKER ROAR BET POT ' mentality, will be hard to turn the switch. I guess it should help me to avoid playing big pots with mediocre holdings, and avoid being in too much tough spots.

So it's time for me to perfect my game more and it's even more time for me to win some more coinflips / 60-40's and win some confidence / money --> I also find I make better laydowns when winning, so I really hope I get into that positive circulation soon!

I' m also thinking about moving back to FTP and play NL100 there for the rakeback (just a bit worried about the amount of players there). Either that or clear another $600 deposit bonus, on UB or something --> I' d like to try clearing that on 6max, as 6max seems so much more fun to play.

But, first I need to crush NL100 on PS, I hate unfinished business and I' ve just started!

First Entry
  Tycho, Feb 16 2007

Heyo, so I' m starting my own poker blog here! It's mostly for pure egoistic purposes as posting graphs and results and having a place to overlook the past time.

I will also try to post some interesting hands from time to time or even write something informative! I' m not much of a talker (I mostly lurk on TL & LP.net, and only make posts when I can't resist).

Some history on me: My name is Tycho (surprise) and I started playing BW when I was 11 (I' m 19 now) so I guess I grew up with gaming. Been in the same clan as Twisted (pR), haven' t done much in the bw community besides being an above average gamer.

Poker was only natural to follow up, looked up lp.net when it was created and got interested. Lost the Partypoker promotion in May 2006, played around with small deposits between May - August, then decided to take it a serious shot. Started off with $3 SNG's, placed 2nd in some $4 MTT SNG's, then played $6 SNG's / NL10 till October or something --> Pretty regular, thanks Oxy for the guides! Then switched to cashgames @ NL25, and starting learning some ABC poker (still learning ).

In November I got to 1000$, right now I have ~ 3800, and almost cleared the FT bonus. Planning on moving to Stars NL100 FR soon, I guess I' ll see some LP people there!
