When it comes to May results, I ended up about 4k eur after a huge amount of hands (7,6k).

My holidays have been really fun so far but I have kinda neglected my poker goals which were to play at least 40k hands per month and obviously play as good as I can. I've been partying and drinking a lot and because of that I had a bad mindset to play poker - I'm down like 2,5k eur so far. I'll try to change that and put more effort into playing and analysing than I had during the past month. I even made a bet with my cousin that I will play at least 125k hands (which is a huge amount for my standards) from 1st July till 30th September. I'm also planning on getting a new monitor. Many players get the 30" ones (2560x1600) but I think that the new 27" Dell monitor (2560x1440 and it's twice as cheap) will be perfect as I want to play 6 tables at most.

I've also been going to the gym three times a week and doing the Weider's 6 for the last month. I'm getting back to shape

Tomorrow is the day of my punishment in the form of the 'free hugs' campaign. Hopefully some of my friends will join me cause doing it alone feels pretty bad. I'll probably post some pictures in the next blog entry.

Ok, I guess that's it for today.

Good luck to everyone,

Mike

Holidays !!
  Gawuss, May 18 2010

I'm basically finished with my finals. The only exam that I've got left is an oral advanced English one which will be a piece of cake. I'm happy it's all over but I lost a bet today by a difference of 1 point. I scored 10/20 in an oral Polish exam and my friend scored 11. The loser has to stand for 1 hour in the middle of our city's downtown with a "Free Hugs" sign. Well, I guess it's not such a horrible thing to do

I can now start managing my days however I want to. I'll begin tomorrow with signing up for a gym membership and playing a long-awaited session of poker. I guess that's it for now. I'll try to keep you posted about my chilled holiday life

High school graduation + March/April results
  Gawuss, Apr 29 2010

It's high time I updated my blog because I haven't posted any graphs/results from March or April yet. I didn't play a whole lot in March - 20k hands only. I ran really bad and ended that month down about 5k euros but I managed to win it all back in April (10k hands lol I know, +5k euros).
+ Show Spoiler +

The small amount of hands I put in during the last 2 months is mostly due to the fact that I started learning for my finals, which are starting next Tuesday, and that I wanted to make the most of my last days at school with my friends. High school is basically over. There is a graduation celebration tomorrow and to be blunt with you, I'll probably shed a few tears because it has been the best time of my life so far and I'm going to miss it a lot.

On the bright side, holidays after the finals will be 4 month-long and my plans for that time period are basically to play as much poker as possible and just relax. I and my friends are going to attend the Hip-Hop Kemp in Czech Republic in August which is bound to be an awesome trip and I'm really looking forward to it.

I guess that's it for now.

Good luck to everybody,

Mike

Prom night video
  Gawuss, Mar 10 2010

I'm posting a video from the prom night (most of the people in it are from my class/are my classmates' partners) just to cheer myself up. Poker is not going well at all...

I'm also in the vid. If your memory is good enough, you'll recognize me

"Show me the water"
  Gawuss, Mar 02 2010

Winter holidays are over and I'm back to school. I spent a great deal of time relaxing, watching movies, hanging out with friends, etc. But these holidays were not only about relaxing. I learnt for my first driving test, watched some poker videos and did a couple of math exercises. I passed the driving test , I almost finished my math homework, but I played not as much poker as I had planned to. February was another lazy month in terms of poker. I might have improved when it comes to learning poker but I have definitely failed at putting more hours in playing.
I've got 2 months left to my matura exams and I'm starting to cram geography (hopefully) tomorrow. It will be harder to play more before May but who says I won't try. I gotta pull myself together and plan everything so that I have time for all things.

Coming back to the driving test. Now, since I have a driving license, it's obvious I'd like to have my own car. My friend told me to go with a japanese one but I'm not car-savvy at all so if any of you found a car costing up to 4-5k eur, let me know (especially if you're Polish and found sth on Allegro or wherever else online). Thanks in advance for help.

I guess you heard about chatroulette.com. I and 2 of my friends had a lot of fun playing jokes on people. The general idea was to make a guy strip and then turn our mic on, show ourselves in the camera (at first he could see only Aga) and laugh at him as loud as we could. Here are some screenshots:

PCA + prom pics
  Gawuss, Feb 10 2010

Last month I and my cousin went to the Bahamas for the PCA after he had won a package in a $700 satellite. Unfortunately, there were only 4 Poles (well, 5 including Lukasz who lives in NYC) besides us.We spent the first 2 days on walking around the hotel, because it was HUGE. I don't really feel like describing every single day so I'll make it brief. When it comes to how Maciek (my cousin) did in the Main Event, he ended day 1 with about 100k in chips, day 2 with 300k, and busted in 99th place ($23,500) on day 3. He was the only Polish guy to make it to the money. So speaking of Polish guys, we met Goral (PS Team Pro), NegPL, Borys313 (Supernova Elite) and some other dude whom I don't really remember. Goral is a really nice guy and I gotta say he deserves his place in the PS Team. He shared a room with NegPL (Krzysiek) who got us a laugh all the time. He was stoned every single day - he said he couldn't handle playing for 10 hours straight without smoking at least 2 joints .
I saw a lot of famous poker pros, such as Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, etc. etc. I even got a photo with our LP hero Elky and the Fossilman. I wanted to get Ivey's autograph so badly but I pretty much failed. He was like a ghost and I couldn't catch him during the breaks. I got extremely exited when, as we were walking to our table in a casino restaurant, I spotted Jayde Nicole (<3) hanging out with Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase from "Entourage" ). Earlier, in the same restaurant, we had been sitting two tables away from Ivey .
The weather could have been better though - I got sick of sitting in the hotel all day long. I got to swim only on 3 days. Ok, I guess that's all about the Bahamas.

I'll leave you with some pics from the trip and my prom night: + Show Spoiler +

Hope you enjoyed

2009 summary
  Gawuss, Feb 06 2010

2009 ended over a month ago but I haven't summarized it yet. I'm well aware of my laziness and being a procrastinator and I didn't really do anything about it during the last year. I got coaching from D_Zoo (we still have one session left) which made me think more while playing but the number of hands I put in (about 160k) was too little of a sample to see any huge improvements (plus I obviously underestimated the knowledge I had been given and didn't use it for long - the reason for this is naturally my lazy nature and ignorance...god I hate myself for that). I made a few attempts to move up in stakes which could have gone a little better but I failed and I'm still a 2/4eur NL regular.
I do regret having played only 160k hands but I don't regret (most of) the things I did when I was not playing. I spent a great deal of time with my friends, which made me realize how awesome they are, I visited many cool places like London and Amsterdam, I finally turned 18 and started playing on accounts registered to my name and I partied a lot due to the super-sweet-18-parties wave - I must have been to at least 30. I definitely grew up as a person but this could have been done without passing on progress in poker.
That's why I'm going to completely change my attitude towards it in 2010. I've already started analyzing my game, watching coaching videos on a daily basis and playing more. I'm about to graduate from high school (I've already had my prom night - pics in the next update) and pass the final exams called 'matura' in Poland. I'm in the middle of my driving course and it's very likely I'll have my first chance to pass the driving test in 2 weeks.
The current year started great by me going to the Bahamas with my cousin (update soon) but I lost some money on that trip which was not so cool. Luckily I had my best day ever (+3,3k eur = $4,5k) and ended down only ~2k eur but that's just because of the money I had withdrawn in January. Oh, I forgot to mention that December 2k9 was the best month I've had so far: +10k eur. I'm going to beat that multiple times in 2010 though .

That's it for now; In the next post I'll write a brief report from the PCA. Stay tuned !!

Best of luck to all of the poker players,

nov update #3
  Gawuss, Nov 22 2009

Up about $2,2k in cash games, overall (with tourneys and withdraws) I ended up $750 in the 3rd week of November

Nothing interesting has happened, except for me finally buying a laptop (Dell E6500) and a new wallet (the one I had for the past 4 years looks like shit)

GL,

Mike
