So I had a trip to the Victoria casino London a couple of days ago with a mate Tim(4KingGenius here on LP). We used to work together and now he moved away and we met up for some poker and a few drinks.
Sitting at a £1/£1 table where we had been for a few hours and we get a guy joining the table who had never played poker before - and I mean NEVER - and really didn't speak much English.
So Tim gets in a hand with him after the newb limps UTG Tim raises to isolate from the button with K5cc. Newb obliges and calls. Flop brings JcTc4h giving Tim the FD and action is check, bet, call. Turn completes Tim's FD with 7c and action again is check, bet, call. River brings 8c. Action - newb checks, Tim asks the guy how much he has behind as the guy is covering his chips with his hands, intending to put him all in for anything under pot, thinking he is only scared of the Ac. The guy doesn't understand so turns over his hand and exposes the 1/4 pot stack he has left at the same time. Tim sees the stack, no Ac and insta says 'I'm all in' and the guy calls. As the guy had turned over Kx9c it was a fairly easy call even for a newb....whole tables laughing....newb doesn't get it.
I will be enjoying this one for years to come. Thanks Tim.

One of those sessions where you feel you've played really well and made some good decisions that were well thought out but end up being screwed by the fish. 1000-ish hands and 3 buyins down when I really felt I'd played well.

The most retarded cash structures ever???
Played last night for a couple of hours after meeting up with an old work mate and asked about the structures. There was 80-100NL (i.e. min/max buyin) with $1/$2 blinds - nice 50 BB 
So how about the 200NL......blinds were $5/$5....40 blinds WTF!!!!
Both with 10% rake capped at $8 for the 100NL
So I was just killing time and sat at an 80/100 table only to find that there was also a table "time charge" of $5/hr. 
Do any of you Aussies bother with this?
The players sucked so i guess that compensated a bit - "I bet $15"...."OK - I'll see you"..... Had one guy call my river 3/4 pot bet with KQ high.
So this is a heater.........

Not sure what to make of that - showdown winnings pathetic - calling too much when I get to showdown, but only getting there 17% of the time....weird short session I guess!!
