Feeling completely lost and confused about my entire game right now. Bluffing light, calling down too light, monkey calling when I'm clearly no good, betting sizes, etcetc.
Not even sure where to begin in trying to straighten myself out.
Let me know if you see anything in the graphs/stats below
The two downswings today aren't just variance or suckouts, they're bonafide shitty play by me.
Made terrible plays (shoves, calls) when I knew it couldn't have been good.
Then I somehow started to play without the fear that had plagued me forever, and started to "flip off" (as Mez would say) fish who were clearly betting after seeing signs of weakness from me (no barrels, etc). If I was convinced they were weak, I'd raise it up strong, and holy shit it was such a goddamn blast finally giving them a big Fuck You and owning their souls.
Made literally no changes Preflop; I just started to be more agressive in spots where I've got air'ish hands but I'm pretty certain villains do as well. Can't get too carried away with this, but I'm definitely happy that my game is starting to realize the changes it desperately needed.
Definitely ran decent overall during that stretch too, which doesn't hurt!
That's how I feel after getting mass coolered @ the very end after getting myself unstuck
Definitely being exploited to oblivion by both regs and fish... and I haven't the slightest clue how to adjust. I know the have air but I have air and I can't press the raise button, though that may be a blessing in disguise tbh...
Yup, this is nothing but a rant blog b/c I can't even write down the leaks I need to fix... b/c I have no idea how to fix something along the lines of "if I cbet I get floated / raised, if I dont cbet I get bet into on flop or lead into on turn" and hence the plummenting redline. My cbet% was like 50% and success rate was an abysmal 30% or something. Variance? Perhaps. But this kind of thing is definitely a consistent theme in my sessions.... fuck.
For now obviously my interpretation is that I ran like crap and villains did have the goods, since this miniscule sample size tells me absolutely jack shit and I may create leaks by attempting to fix leaks that don't exist in the first place...
I've made some nice adjustments, and I'm learning to really be flexible and fluid during the same session on different tables depending on the villains and hence the needs of the tables. Played about 18/16 today, since the tables were tighter than the fish infested weekend lovefests.
However, I am still making pure donkey plays that can potentially ruin a session. Great example is this hand that made me instantly halt my evening session and just quit for the day. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/639613
What makes it worse is that as I looked through all the action, it became clear that my river raise is VERY thin at best, and when he shoves over me I am never good. There are simply no hands that get here that I beat anymore. YET I CALL. I HAVE TOP TWO I CAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Seriously, I play 2000 hands and have 3 like this that just eat me alive. It really really really bothers me that sometimes I'm just not making the right decisions when it matters . Learning process... I guess. Overall from the results of the day, it was a great success. But nevertheless, these 2,3,4 problem hands just really irk me.
NL100 Week 1 graph
Thanks to Palak, Artanis, Neilly, and bongky for hand input today particularly on betsizing stuff that I wasn't so sure about.
Brainfarted towards the end of today's session and turned a +3.25bi day into a +1.9bi day. Disappointing, but I think it's more important that I have successfully prevented myself from continuing to play / resuming play in this decreased state of alertness in an attempt to recoup losses.
Graph for last 2 days. Not going to play the rest of the night - going to go work out with a friend and do some RL work as well.
Looks like I've actually already hit all of my February goals I set for myself, except for my 100K hands goal which is fine since the NL50 and NL100 'shots' didn't really allow me to grind as hard as I wanted. Though then again, my daily schedule broke down to a point where I was really inefficient getting the hours in. Woke up early today though and got 5+ hours in, so hopefully I can keep this up ^^.
edit: I just look through all my losing hands, and a surprisingly large %age of them were coolers/suckouts, which makes me happier ^_^ Graph from yesterday and today
Palak pointed out that I may have become too nitty again in an attempt to not self-hang myself against station-fish, so I may look into opening up more on good tables / certain spots.
redline's a lil' crappy but nothing too major imo.
Shoutouts
Thanks to gororokgororok, Tenbagger, palak, C0n5pir4cy, TheReason, shaneomac, and MayZerg for hand input~
Also thanks to dronebabo for hand input via msn <3
Tables are starting to get a lil more shark infested, and I think I'm going to do IRL stuff I gotta take care of instead of grinding out in tougher waters.
I think I'm finally starting to get value from Fish overall (though one of them totally played me http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/636687) and my balls are growing a lil' more playing back at regs mainly when I'm IP.
Overall I ran above average I think, not going to lie. I'm still -EV at NL100 overall, so cut me some slack
